A swarm of more than 141 earthquakes is rattling Yellowstone National Park, geologists said.

The U.S. Geological Survey said Friday that an ongoing earthquake swarm that began at 5:52 p.m. Thursday is centered beneath Yellowstone Lake. There have been 40 earthquakes bigger than a magnitude 2, and two have been above a 3.0 magnitude, USGS said.

6.1-magnitude quake hits 130 km south of Punta Burica, Panama: USGS​

NEW YORK, July 17 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.1 jolted 130 km south of Punta Burica, Panama at 20:56:11 GMT on Saturday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 9.09 km, was initially determined to be at 6.8776 degrees north latitude and 82.6424 degrees west longitude.

A magnitude 5.0 earthquake was reported at 11:46 p.m. Saturday 17 miles from Fortuna, Calif., according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The earthquake occurred 29 miles from Eureka, 33 miles from Arcata, 41 miles from McKinleyville and 94 miles from Redding.

In the last 10 days, there have been two earthquakes of magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
