WORLDWIDE EARTHQUAKE REPORT OCTOBER 08_2023

Moderate levels of seismic activity occurred in the last 24 hours. A new sequence of earthquakes is happening in the Izu Islands. An isolated earthquake occurred at 05:36 UTC with a magnitude 5.2, however, starting at 20:14 UTC a sequence of six M5+ earthquakes shook the Izu Islands, the largest event had a magnitude 5.4 Three M4.9 earthquakes occurred within the sequence, which lasted approximately one hour. We may not have seen the final event in the Izu Islands.

An M5.9 event occurred in Papua New Guinea and adds to the seismic cluster that has shaken the region in recent days. As with Izu, it is possible that these are precursors to a larger event.

We can see that the energy of the seismic activity in the western Pacific is moving across the fault system to central and South America. An M5.0 earthquake struck northern Chile while lighter earthquakes were recorded in central Chile (Santa Cruz, M4.9), north of Argentina (El Aguilar M4.6) off the coast of Guatemala and the border of Panama and Colombia (M4.6).

Finally, the SSGEOS seismic forecast indicates a possible strong seismic event between October 12 and 16 due to tight convergence. Let's wait and see

Izu Islands situation

Japan's meteorological agency (JMA) issued a Tsunami warning. But there was no earthquake. At the moment, it is believed that there was an underwater landslide.

(Update) Tsunami Advisories Issued to Izu, Ogasawara Islands, Other Areas

Tokyo, Oct. 9 (Jiji Press)--The Japan Meteorological Agency issued tsunami advisories to the Izu Islands and the Ogasawara Islands, both in the Pacific, at 6:40 a.m. Monday.

Later in the morning, tsunami advisories were issued also to Chiba Prefecture, east of Tokyo, the western Japan prefecture of Kochi and the southwestern prefectures of Miyazaki and Kagoshima.

A 60-centimeter tsunami was observed in Hachijojima, an island in the Izu chain, at 7:17 a.m., the agency said.

The agency has been unable to identify the cause of the tsunami while it is believed that an earthquake, volcanic activity or submarine landslide occurred in waters off Torishima, an island in the Izu chain, around 5:25 a.m

There have been no reports of casualties, according to the Fire and Disaster Management Agency.

ITALIAN GOVERNMENT PLANS MASSIVE EVACUATIONS IN CAMPI FlEGREI- NAPOLI.

More than half a million residents in towns and villages surrounding the Campi Flegrei supervolcano are at direct risk.

CAMPI FLEGREI -NAPOLI- Vesubio.png

Campi Flegrei is a 13 km (8 miles) wide caldera that encompasses part of Naples and extends south beneath the Gulf of Pozzuoli.
The area has a history of intense volcanic and seismic activity.

Following 1,100+ earthquakes within a month, the Italian government is drawing up plans to evacuate tens of thousands of residents in the event of a further ramp-up, with additional measures set to be discussed in an upcoming cabinet meeting.

A natural phenomenon called ‘bradyseism’ —slow ground movement- is thought to be the cause of the increasing seismic activity. This is a cyclical rise or fall in the Earth’s surface due to the filling or emptying of underground magma chambers. Currently, the ground around Campi Flegrei is rising by 1.5 cm (0.6 inches) per month; in the Rione Terra area reached ground uplift approximately 113 cm (44 inches) by July 2023. sparking concerns about the structural integrity of local buildings.

Afghanistan has become the fulcrum, and responses are expected both to the Mediterranean region and to mainland China.

According to analyst Jesus Ramos, the energy from the twin earthquakes will continue to migrate from Afghanistan to sensitive areas such as Turkey, Greece and Italy and even parts of Spain and Algeria. A magnitude 4+ or 5+ earthquake could occur in these locations, in the worst case scenario an M6.0.

To the east, China could record an M5+ and in the worst case M6+ earthquake.

As I am writing this an earthquake is being recorded in Slovakia.

WORLDWIDE EARTHQUAKE REPORT OCTOBER 09_2023

Moderate levels of seismic activity occurred in the past 24 hours. Finally the earthquake in Slovakia was set at M5.0 Social media users report not only amazement but also that the quake lasted several seconds and was felt in other parts of the country such as Poland and Hungary. According to USGS the earthquake would have been very shallow (0 km depth. We have to remember that the depths calculated by the agencies are not exact and a depth of zero indicates that it is very close to sea level).

Well, this was a very very unusual earthquake. Magnitude 5 earthquakes had happened in neighboring countries like Poland, Austria or Hungary while light M3 earthquakes are common in this region of Slovakia. As mentioned above, this seismic activity could be related to the twin earthquakes in Afghanistan.

The earthquake was deep, according to USGS at a depth of 247 km. If we take into consideration the Dutchsinse depth to magnitude rule, we could expect another shallow earthquake around magnitude 6.4.
Deep earthquake below Argentina (happens relatively often) is evidence of the subducting plates that provide mega-thrust earthquake potential. The last major rupture of the Chile-Peru bend was in August 1868 (Mw 9.0).

Very critical planetary geometry 9-12 October can trigger major seismic activity, most likely between 12 and 16 October. Be on watch!

WORLDWIDE EARTHQUAKE REPORT OCTOBER 10_2023

Moderate levels of seismic activity occurred in the past 24 hours. In Argentina, a very deep M5.6 earthquake occurred at 00:13:UTC that is 10 hours before the M6.0 earthquake, if we follow the Dutchsinse Magnitude to Depth rule:
For every 100km depth , you are to add on 0.2 magnitude to the original deep earthquakes magnitude.. EXAMPLE : M5.0 strikes at a depth of 500km .. it can cause a shallower earthquake up to 1 magnitude larger….. the deep M5.0 earthquake can cause a shallower M6.0 near the surface.
We can expect an earthquake around magnitude 6.6 or in the worst case magnitude 7.0 in the region. Let's wait and see

The impact of the Venus Earth Saturn alignment occurred at 06:02 UTC in the Pacific Ocean and after this the energy moved towards South America and towards the west Pacific. This makes us suspect that the M5.6 earthquake is related to the alignment of the previous day: Sun, Venus, Uranus, being an independent event, the hypothesis of an upcoming event of magnitude 6.6 in the region gains strength for the next days.

WORLDWIDE EARTHQUAKE REPORT OCTOBER 12_2023

Moderate levels of seismic activity occurred in the past 24 hours. The seismic activity in the Izu Islands decreased considerably, however, it must be considered that something happened in that region that not only triggered a sequence of earthquakes but also a tsunami. The Japan Meteorological Agency is not clear what happened but suggests a submarine landslide or a volcano. Anyway, the energy today was moving towards the Kuril Islands with an M5.1 earthquake and towards Alaska which recorded an M5.6

On the American Continent side we see that the energy of the seismic activity in the Western Pacific is impacting Central America. Panama recorded a light M4.7 earthquake while Honduras recorded an M4.6 earthquake, both at a shallow depth of 10km. See the atmospheric fluctuation recorded today October 12. There is a possibility of a seismic event in the Caribbean, Central and South America.

Finally, the energy of the M6+ earthquakes in Afghanistan is impacting Turkey which was shaken by an M4.5 earthquake and Tajikistan which recorded an M4.6 earthquake.
