I already have the coaxial connectors wired in the house we bought so I think it would at least be faster than my current wi-fi and I wouldn't have to crawl around in the attic.

Here is one on amazon which is pricey ($90) but I guess it may beat drilling holes or running around baseboards.

It probably will take some testing to figure out the whole setup so I will have to think about what might be needed more.

Just to follow up on my previous post and maybe give some useful information I am expanding on the MOCA system.

@neonix posting has done a great job in motivating me to do something about the wireless pollution even if it is just a partial solution.

I found a more inexpensive (although not cheap) MOCA adapter that is faster than the Actiontec ones.

goCoax has MOCA adapters for $59.99. It requires 2 adapters to create a network.

For those owning older homes with coax cable this proves to be a great advantage wiring between floors. I still had to install one ethernet 50 foot cable in the attic but trying to go between floors was a huge obstacle.

Some homes have different room configurations on the different levels that make it almost impossible to find a matching vertical wall between levels as was my case. Even the cold air returns did not line up to feed wires. I finally decided to try the coax to ethernet system.

One consideration was how my wife would accept having to hook up to the system using a wired system. Her computer and iPad are well used so I wanted to at least make the set-up attractive or unobtrusive. This made my plan a little more time consuming and expensive but so far I have had no complaints.

I chose CAT 7 ethernet cables since the price has come down. I like the flat cables for maneuverability, ease of installation and appearance.

The above picture is the starting point of the system where my DSL router/modem is connected.

The above wiring is the 50 foot cable from the attic to the bedroom. I made a smudge mark on the wall installing the wall grommet (opps).

Above is the kitchen island where I used a desktop grommet that was less expensive and matches the room better. Inside the island is a 5 port switch attached by ethernet. The wire is a 3 foot ethernet to iPad adapter attached to the switch box by another short ethernet cable.

Above is the other side of the kitchen island with the switch box power cord and another ethernet to iPad cord attached to my wife's iPad.

Above is the other goCoax adapter connected to the coax in the basement fed by the upstairs router/modem.

Above is a switch box attached to the goCoax adapter by ethernet. This has two separate ethernet cords going to the kitchen island switch box and another switch box in the living room area. I used a total of 4 switch boxes.

It has been a learning experience and a bit of work drilling some holes that were not so easy to get to in spite of being done from the attic and an unfinished basement.

If I can help I'll try to answer questions. The system is working for me so I didn't have to understand the complexity so much. I think it is one possible way to go "Wired" depending on the situation.

Now, I would like to try to lessen the damage from 2 smart meters. One is for the water and the other one for the electric meter.

I do think I can feel a difference after turning off the wireless on the DSL router/modem but I suppose without having any test meters I don't know the specific differences.

I have 3 questions. 1. What is the voltage in this coaxial MOCA TV system, because it may have some advantage over CAT Ethernet cable. Coaxial is shielded, sometimes by aluminium foil, sometimes by copper. CAT Ethernet cable is not shielded. Someone with electromagnetic meter should measure it.

2a. About smart meters. I don't understand this idea about punting shielding cage on smart meter. If smart meter don't communicate with cell tower, someone form power supply company could come and complain.

Maybe you could use 2 shielding material at once. Silk (or cheaper wool) and aluminium foil (as mirror) to shield only one side of smart meter, that it could communicate with cell tower.

2b. Does your water meter is passive mater that emits radiation only when someone come with specific device or is it plugged to electricity 24/7? If so maybe you should consider to not drink water from this smart meter and take it form creek or local water intake.

3. You could probably feel the difference when your body is overweight by sickness, stress or electrosensibility. If someone can't turn of its WiFi, it can use 20 layers or more of cheap aluminum foil. But have to be aware to not overheat the router in summer heat wave.

1. I am not an electrical engineer or an expert on the technology I just found it to be a practical solution. The voltage of a MOCA system is very low since the adapters that have a very small 12V input/ouput 500MA power supply plug. Some CAT Ethernet is shielded (which is what I used). Why should someone measure the volatage of coax when it is the wireless signal we are trying to abate?

2a. About smart meters. I don't understand this idea about punting shielding cage on smart meter. If smart meter don't communicate with cell tower, someone form power supply company could come and complain.

The cage idea was from other posts here suggestions, here etc. I really don't know why the meters need to be constantly checked anyway. Why don't they just turn the wireless feature of the meters on when needed.

While the Cs mentioned silk I don't know if that would work for these meters. I think the one side shielding might work and that may be what some have tried.

I don't know how/when they monitor the water meter (another thing to learn more about). I don't drink the tap water. I use distilled water for drinking (don't want the fluoride).

You can turn off the wireless feature of the router if you go to a "wired" system.

We do have some information and some options. After seeing so many posts here (many of them from you which are very alarming and informative), I just decided to DO something. It is at least a step in the right direction I think.

What a well-executed project! Definitely a step in the right direction.

The people with the lowest levels of cell phone/wifi exposure also seem to be the ones with the clearest minds. Much of the dumb-assery in the world today, the rapid decay of once-intelligent people into ideologically possessed drones, seems to track directly in line with the amount of brain damping devices present.
 
When you buy ethernet cable, just look for STP (shielded twisted pair) instead of UTP (unshielded twisted pair).

When I measure shielded and unshielded ethernet cables around here, the RF and magnetic fields are basically 0, and the E-field is 10V/m - but only within about 15cm / 6" from the cable.

I used both Cornet ED-88TPlus and SOEKS (Russian!) EMF meters.

To misquote “Field of Dreams,” if we build 5G, a bigger, better economy will come. In fact, conventional wisdom says the country that gets a leg up installing 5G — the superfast backbone of next generation mobile service — will give itself a serious economic advantage over the rest of the world for decades to come. And that’s exactly why Russian trolls are desperately working to sow mistrust of the technology among Americans.

The Russians don’t want us building out an advanced 5G network and reaping its rewards. They’ll do anything they can to impede our progress. The current effort involves a disinformation campaign about the supposed ill effects of 5G on our health, suggesting that 5G signals cause everything from cancer to infertility and heart disease to Alzheimer’s. It includes an especially pernicious soupçon of fear about the dangers 5G poses to children’s brains. But the truth is, every last claim is scientifically unfounded, and in some cases, has actually been proven false.

One of the biggest purveyors of these outright lies is Russian network RT America, cited by U.S. intelligence as a big player in efforts to undermine our 2016 election. It’s also a known pawn of Russia’s pec-tacular president, Vladimir Putin. Amid all the hubbub in the U.S., Putin is quietly moving ahead with 5G installations in Russia. He’s said he wants “universal access” to it across the country. Putin announced in February that commercial 5G service will be up and running by next year, and will be launched in all cities with a population of more than 300,000 by 2024.

He’s keen because 5G means significantly faster data, reduced latency, higher system capacity and unlimited device connectivity to the “Internet of Things.” 5G networks will unlock vast new opportunities in artificial intelligence, automation, manufacturing, energy and transportation, all while making cities more livable and life generally more pleasant particularly for those living in dense urban areas. It will spur untold efficiencies, improvements and investment. Most importantly, “the country that owns 5G will own many of these innovations and set the standards for the rest of the world,” according to the Defense Innovation Board, an independent committee that advises the U.S. Secretary of Defense. In its 5G report, the DIB added, “The leader of 5G stands to gain hundreds of billions of dollars in revenue over the next decade, with widespread job creation across the wireless technology sector.”

China believes so strongly in the future of 5G that it’s investing $150 billion in it over the next six years. Europe started thinking about 5G as far back as 2013, adopting a “5G Action Plan” in 2016, with a goal of launching by the end of next year. So it’s no surprise the Russians are suddenly inundating us with “the evils of 5G” hysteria. But the American public shouldn’t be swayed by false narratives. We shouldn’t be misled by a panic whipped up by trolls and bots. Russia is a bad actor with ill intent, and its attempt to tinker with our technological and economic advancement shouldn’t be tolerated.

No matter what they say, the world is in the midst of an extraordinarily competitive global race that will determine future prosperity, very possibly into the next century. And whichever country reaches the 5G finish line first wins.
