As I was reading yesterday (can't remember where) that Lahaina is/was "like the soul" for Hawaiians, I did a search and found this:

So, an arson (as arson is a more than reasonable doubt, regardless of how it was triggered) destroys the former capital of the Hawaiian kingdom, a town that is very important to the Hawaiians.

It is therefore reasonable to assume that some kind of "Shock and Awe" doctrine was used in Lahaina. Think of the meaning of the word Aloha:
Aloha is an essence of being: love, peace, compassion, and a mutual understanding of respect. Aloha means living in harmony with the people and land around you with mercy, sympathy, grace, and kindness. When greeting another person with aloha, there is mutual regard and affection.

So, the destruction of Lahaina might serve multiple agendas (as it often happens when greedy psychopaths are involved):

- First, destroy emotionally the inhabitants of Lahaina right down to their very foundations (culture, faith, essence of being, way of life...), and top it all off with dozens of families possibly perishing in the fire and dozens more losing loved ones. Those very people who seem to have resisted the attempts of the Power That Be to take over the whole island (making of Lahaina being like this last small Gallic village that resisted the Roman Empire in Asterix and Obelix). Once dazed - they have lost everything, sometimes/often? more than their homes - everything is done to encourage them to move elsewhere and sell their land for a pittance;

- Settle in a Smart City;

- Construct mansions and resorts only for the very rich;

- And, continue to make people believe that anthropogenic global warming is the cause of all our woes.

Maybe there is another agenda that we are not aware of, yet.

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The residents of Kula, in Upcountry Maui, are mourning for their neighbors, friends and loved ones in West Maui – and they’re mourning for their own community, too.
The same day a wildfire ripped through Lahaina, one tore through Kula, as well.
No fatalities were reported, but at least 19 homes have burned.
“You never think that your house is going to burn down, nobody does,” said Sweetheart Mori.

“But what you going do when there’s a fire? You just gonna deal with it and just get the heck away. At least your life is saved. Instead of the people in Lahaina,” she said as she started to cry.
Mori’s home is one of the 19 lost.
County officials say three of the homes were in Olinda, while 16 were in Kula. Authorities warn there could be more. There’s been no access to some area.
Mori said the winds were whipping around 5 p.m. on Tuesday.

“My daughter opened her door, the wind just took the door and her window shattered,” Mori said.
As of Sunday, the fire is still just 60% contained. So far, the blaze has burned more than 700 acres.
“The fire came from in the back and just burnt all the way down. All the way down to my daughter’s cottage,” said Mori.
Three helicopters, four engines, two tankers and one utility are currently on-site — struggling to control the flame five days after the wildfire started. County officials say hotspots in gulches and other hard to reach places, along with land divisions and fences, make this a difficult fire to contain.

PART 6 #MauiFire #DEW Several hours have been cut from the satellite feed to remove the time when the fire started and during its peak intensity. Watch as #HurricaneDora skips a couple hundred miles during this deleted segment. The hurricane winds didn't get within 300 miles of the Maui. Why didn't the Big Island of Hawaii (which was directly between the two) receive these winds as well if it was coming from the hurricane? Because they didn't come from it! The winds came from the east as a huge portion of the atmosphere that formed a kind of chevron was being pushed directly towards Maui. You can see the VLF waves pushing from behind forming the #FishGillClouds It was like a tidal wave of air being created and the front edge of the wave was more powerful than the hurricane and knocked it off its course, moving it in a southwesterly direction. There has only been ONE time where I was able to get the whole satellite feed untouched during one of these #DEWFires bc they figured no one gives a shit about Bolivia and they didn't cover their tracts. If the satellite feed was intact....this is what you would have seen happen to Maui that I showed in Bolivia

Could this type of technology have been used in Lahaina fire and other places before, and maybe be ongoing in other places in Maui itself, as the guy in those tweets above assume they could be?

ABSTRACT
The work investigates interdependence of two diverse phenomenon and related implications. Flame spread behavior is undertaken for reform in need of developing efficient methods in combustion sciences and fire applications. An experimental setup was raised and through experimentation was carried out. Magnetic effect on flames is investigated in the form of number of magnets, separation distance, intensity and polarity of magnets. Results show that magnetic presence mostly augments the spreading of flames and is reluctant to the heat sink effect. Different magnetic configurations result in distinct characteristic trend with respect to energy interactions with the spreading flame. Energy interaction of magnets with flame and with adjacent magnets dictates the entire magnetic flame spread behavior.


1. INTRODUCTION
Fire has many uses and forms the basic necessity of human existence. However, if not controlled properly is also the cause of biggest disasters. The stimulating work on spreading of fire has inspired multitudes of research activities, primarily motivated by the need to control fire spreading behavior. Almost all of studies on fire science in solid fuels are carried out in the form of flame spread. Flame spread represents diffusion flame propagating parallel to the solid fuel surface. The rate at which flame spread is referred to as flame spread rate and is a phenomenon of practical and functional significance. This phenomenon is a function of instantaneous heat transfer from burning to unburnt surface (figure 1(a)).

3. RESULTS
Experiments were carried out in the natural convective atmosphere with 21 % oxygen concentration. According to classical heat transfer theory over thin solid fuels, the propagating front spreads by continuous heat feedback (forward heat transfer) from the burning region to the unburnt solid fuel upstream. The spreading rate is directly proportional to the forwards heat transfer, consequently any mandatory change in the heat feedback content will be directly reflected in increase or decrease in flame spreading rate (refer equation 3).

Prior to the study, experimentation was instigated with a reference reading without any magnetic presence. This reading is used as a base to measure up to the magnetic effect on flame spread followed by the magnetic effect on spreading of flame. First, the effect of separation distance on the flame spread rate was explored. The separation distance between the flame and magnet was divided into three regions i.e. nearby (1-3cm), intermediate (3-7 cm) and faraway (7-10 cm). The effect was first investigated for a single magnet with north pole facing upward. Figure 4 shows the effect of magnet separation distance on flame spread rates. The spread rates are compared to the one without any magnetic influence to note the magnetic effect. Looking at the plot, one can note that, flame spread rates varies non-monotonically with the magnet separation distance. Flame spread rates depicts significant wavering with separation distance. This is to note that the flame spread rates are changing repeatedly with distance.

4. CONCLUSION
The role of magnets as flame spread rate modifier is investigated. A parametric study on opposed flow diffusion flame spread was carried out on a paraffin wax solid fuel in normal gravity environment. The work focused on fundamentally understanding the net energy interactions of flame and surrounding magnet and evaluation was done in the aid of flame spread rate. Based on the results, following conclusions can be drawn:

1) Diffusion flames are strongly influenced by the magnetic presence in immediate vicinity.

2) Key controlling parameters viz., number of magnets, separation distance, intensity, polarity have significant role in affecting the flame spread rate with deviation.

3) Magnetic configurations are noted to be more active in imparting the role of a potential heat source, heat sink and the neutralizer when operated in intermediate and faraway zones. However, reduced number of magnets (e.g. 1,2) are effective as the heat source and sink in nearby zone.

4) As a heat source, 4-magnet configuration at 6 cm results in immense ~16% rise in flame spreading rates whereas a 3-magnet configuration placed closer to flame (3 cm) can cause a spreading rate drop by ~5%.

5) Increasing intensity of magnets reduces effectiveness in observing heat source effect however, crucially magnifies the heat sink effect for controlling flame spread rates.

6) Magnetic polarity corresponds more to the heat source effect. For different combinations, a varying increase in heat source effect ensues at distinct separation distances. The surrounded magnetic system or configuration around flame may need be effective as a heat sink.

7) Energy interaction of the magnets with the spreading flame and with adjacent magnets dictates the entire magnetic flame spread behavior. More inter-magnetic interactions may result in higher heat sink effect. Whereas, enhanced central interaction results in effective heat source effect.

8) Magnets can be efficiently used as the heat sink as well as the heat source for diverse applications. The results can be used to improve the knowledge and better utilization of magnets in applications ranging from practical, scientific, engineering to various functional application with a better and effective insight.

9) For applications demanding better fire safety, it will be appropriate to turn fuel orientation to horizontal. In reverse mode remove the nearby heat source readily and in forward mode place it very close.

I was curious about Hawaii politics - whether these fires are happening in democrat controlled areas, and discovered Hawaii has been democrat controlled since it first became a state in '59.

So if we look at all the national headlines about tragedies: shootings, corruption, riots, ect. ... It is taking place where democrats rule, mostly.

Then you have in the Hawaii tragedy - as in Las Vegas - tourism industry. Much of the peoples livelihood comes from people vacationing and spending their money there. Shootings - many happen where people congregate...

So, where there is easy money, there is corruption. And where there is corruption - a code of silence. But it is a clamoring for a piece of the pie, and those fighting for their share align together, but mindful of how everything must be seen as idyllic in order to maintain a tourist destination status.

So, you have these theories about weapons, or inaction, or corruption. Of course. It should not surprise anyone. But it upsets the notion that there are places we can go to get away from it all, but there isn't. And so in its cover-up, the blame must fall upon absurdities - anything but the fact that tragedy happened upon a place - where what happens is an escape. A dream, when shattered is seen in its ugliness.

So, conspiracies arise, when there is no hope to benefit from a secret.

Hawaii governor says state is looking to 'acquire land' that was destroyed in fires He also announced a moratorium on any out-of-state property sales.

On Monday, Hawaiian governor Josh Green announced that his administration was considering acquiring properties in the seaside resort town of Lahaina that had been destroyed by the recent wildfires.

He vowed to prevent foreign buyers from swooping in to exploit the tragedy, suggesting the state was better suited to take control of the land.
