It is unfortunate that you did not get the chance to correct the Wiccan- Heathen comment. So much ignorance in our world today. Is there any thing you could do about religious freedom being put up as a defense against you? And why you? Discreditting a witness due to their religion seems illegal or something. At least it should be.

Yes it should be, and as soon as I know everything there is to know about Mr. Fancy Pants, "Sean Devereux" I'm going to ask a few million folks to call and tell him AND the NC Barr Association this very thing.

And I have never once mistaken you for a fluffy bunny bubble blowing kinda person. ;)

Thanks  I don't think Mr Fancy Pants will either once this is all said and done.

Geeezzzzz, Frontier Communications hired the same attorney, "Sean Devereux" who defended ERIC RUDOLPH to defend Joshua Gray.

Apparently he takes little fish too

While I'm ranting, I want to point out that I think the Jackson County ADA, Justin Eason, did a good job prosecuting the case. My first thought when I found out he was the Attorney in charge of the case was "He's just a baby" He looks so young and is just as cute as a button with big puppy dog eyes and little bugle boy bangs.

Then I realized, no, he's not really that young, I've just gotten so old he looks young ...which is very depressing, but he was on the ball. Every time "Sean Devereux" the slimy, felony murder attorney that Frontier hired to defend Joshua Gray attacked my religion, business, or other totally irrelevant issue, Mr. Eason objected, and the Judge "sustained" the objection (which meant I couldn't refute Devereux's blatant lies)

We had our day in court, and we lost due to the technical definition of "intentionally." Ok, fine.

What's so shocking to me is that Frontier Communications would hire a Felony Murder lawyer who specializes in attacking eye witlessness's personal lives so Frontier can continue to employ a Technician who stated in court that he could "Tune out" two LOUDLY barking dogs.

This is the man they're sending out on service calls to the homes of unsuspecting pet owners....one who, by his own words, can "tune out" our pets when they bark in alarm at his intrusion into their territory.

No big deal to Frontier, as long as their employee "zones out" (Gray's exact words) and doesn't INTENTIONALLY attack our pets, it's ok if he bludgeons them nearly to death and causes permanent brain damage "accidentally"

The absolute worst part about all this is that we can not even vote with our pocketbooks. The corporate controlled FCC has given Frontier Communications a TOTAL MONOPOLY in our area. We have no other broadband choice whatsoever since there's a mountain in the way of satellite and wireless signals.

If we want high speed Internet we are REQUIRED to allow Joshua Gray and others like him unrestricted access to our property with or without our knowledge, and if we happen to have a tiny little dog, on a LEASH, in our back yard when the Frontier Communications Technician decides to visit, that Technician can KILL our pet with complete impunity.

Instead of firing that employee for being so careless that he caused terrible and irreversible harm to an innocent animal, Frontier hires Eric Rudolph's lawyer to defend the "Zoned out" Technician.

This is the company that the FCC has granted a total monopoly to.

Well, you've already written a pretty good article above to comment on the outcome of the case.

LOL....yeah, I'm cleaning it up in another window for posting. Doing a deep dig on the attorney who thinks it's ok to bring my personal spiritual beliefs into the case is going to take awhile, so that will be an update for later.

Is there no legal way that your community can put out a tender for a new carrier. I just thought that if the demand was unanimous there may be a loop hole? :/

Well, this is just nuts. Was there even a jury on this trial? How can people IGNORE the fact that this guy walked up to a LEASHED foot-tall, 15-pound dog and nearly clubbed her to death? And being "zoned-out" is a perfectly good excuse? Did they decide to completely ignore reality because an extremely credible witness is "Wiccan" (actually Heathen)? What is wrong with people?

When do you want us to flood the slimeball lawyer with calls?

Nope, that's all controlled by the FCC, and the FCC is owned, lock stock and barrel by the communications industry. The FCC stopped defending citizen/customer issues years ago, all the FCC does at this point is collect HUGE fees and decide WHICH multi-billion dollar corporation gets to financially rape the populace.

They allowed Frontier Internet to buy Verizon in our area, then grossly oversell the market to the point we're not getting a fraction of the service we're paying for when it works at all. The entire region was without Internet for most of the weekend, and that's become the norm. The FCC won't do diddly about citizen complaints as long as companies like Frontier, Verizon, etc. make huge donations to completely corrupt politicians. Welcome to America, one great big corporate slave machine.

I don't think that would help, he's just a high dollar hired goon. I'm thinking that Frontier, the FCC and the NC Bar Association might be better choices?

I think you're right about that; if we were to flood the lawyer with calls, he might use that against you for any future cases. Apologies for sounding brash there. But, is there any specific time you'd like us to contact those organizations, or should we wait for a bit first?

I think we need to examine all our options before we take any action? I need to find out WHO to contact in these various offices, stuff like that. Obviously Ken Maxell, Frontier's general Manager is at the top of the list. He was in court and personally heard Gray say he just "Tunes out" barking dogs.

Oh yeah, that's the kind of dude you want to send tromping across people's property, one who's sooooo focused on finding his "Nib" (network interface box) that he can trip over your howling rottweiler.

IF this was an "accident" (which I still don't buy due to the religious prejudice) whose pet will be brutalized next because Joshua Gray wasn't paying even minimal attention to his surroundings?

Okay, I'll be on standby until you find who exactly you need to contact. Good luck, Guardian. :)

Well darn it, Guardian at least you put up a good fight. Too bad this didn't happen in SC - rumor has it anyway that the penalty for beating a dog is harsher than for beating your wife.

Whatever we do will have to reach the LARGE portion of the region's population that doesn't have home Internet access (thanks to Frontier)

I'm thinking of a couple of "No Justice For Pepper" billboards with her picture and a phone # and URL on it. Billboards works pretty well out here, they're good for getting word of mouth communication going and local media involvement.

My jaw is dropping reading this story.
Sounds like you know how to stick up for yourself, Guardian! I'm sure you'll remember to watch out for yourself too, they don't sound like a very savoury bunch of characters.
