How is Laura?

I would like to suggest an ergonomic kneeling chair. I had the same fall and same breaks many years ago and suffered for months. I could not afford it at the time so I plodded along the best I could.
It takes all the pressure off the tail and the kneeling pressure is actually more on the shin bones which is mild.

I've tried that for a similar injury, and it hurt like the blazes. :( Those are also tough to get in and out of with a sore rump.

I fall a lot, and when I've had similar injuries, standing, or lying on my side with cushions for my knees, ankles helped the most, fwiw.

The worst? Stairs, any attempt to sit, or lying on my back or front. I got real used to using a laptop side ways in bed. :cool2:

Laura's got lots of help at home, I'm sure she'll be rigged up with something once she's gotten some rest. :flowers:

That is a great idea stellar. I didn't even think about that and I own one! It's the most comfortable desk chair, even if you don't have a broken coccyx! It removes all the pressure off the back bone and puts it on the legs.

Or maybe not! If what Gimpy says is true. Anyway, here's a link to one http://www.amazon.co.uk/Teknik-Wooden-Kneeling-Ergonomic-Furniture/dp/B0038RN4FA

Note: my computer has been glitchy and not refreshing posts here on the forum. It also gives an error message when I try to log out.

Hi, here is a movie in which a kneeling chair is featured with a special cut-out to relieve the coccyx: _http://youtu.be/UGaa1etMtR4?t=3m7s

I'm sorry to learn of your injuries, Laura, hope you have a speedy recovery... :flowers:

Hello Laura! I'm sorry to hear what happened. :(

I hope you have no set backs in your recovery and are back to normal in no time!

Oh Laura -- I am so sorry that your body's injured -- and I do hope you have a very speedy and painless recovery.

Don't know if sitting on a "doughnut" to relieve pressure on your tailbone would be of help to the rest of your back -- but I'm sure your chiropractor or doctor has probably given you good suggestions that will be useful while you go through the healing process.

May Divine Cosmic Mind bless you and keep you safe.

We love you Wonderful Woman. Cheers!

I was going to begin a new thread -- A greeting to all Forum Members re the Fall Equinox today & New Moon in Libra tomorrow -- and include a You Tube link for a short 2:47 minute video called Gazillion Bubbles. But I'll include it here instead as a little boost of visual & musical cheer. Maybe it will act as a bit of beneficial spiritual & aesthetic medicine. : )

Via Facebook we know that Laura had a accident and broke her coccyx and cracked her sacrum. These are very sensitive parts of the body. I wish that she is recuperating as best as she can, and hope that she will be ok very soon. :hug2:

Ouch and wince! That's a really awkward part of the body to injure!

I'm very sorry to hear this.

Out of all the things learned of and guarded against, *this* is what sneaked through? What a pain in the...

I'm going to spend a bit of time each day, offering some prayer to help speed recovery and help make the pain manageable.

Doughnut sounds great. I also used to have similar trauma and the greatest relief for me was an orthopedic bed bent twice like this:

It was painful lying flat on my back, so this bent shape of the bed helped me a lot. If no orthopedic bed or mattress are available, ordinary pillows can be put behind the back and under the knees to keep them upright and thus bring relief to the tailbone. This picture is not precisely correct: i used to have less pillows behind the back and more - under the knees. Hope this can help, fwiw.

Get well soon, dear Laura! :flowers:

Your in my thoughts Laura, please rest and watch for signs! You are loved and we are thankful for your teachings, and words. A new world needs you dear! Jamar.
