Is the US West Coast next for a major quake?

I post this in this thread since it could be connected or simply coincidental timing that the whole Rockerfeller family decide to leave the USA at this time for a 'holiday' in three chartered planes. Just seems a bit fishy...

It seems that India has caught the fancy of American trillionaire David Rockefeller. We have learnt that the 96-year-old, head of one of the biggest American business dynasties, is currently in the country with his family and is travelling all over North India.

We hear that the honcho landed in Delhi with more than two dozen relatives, including his children and grandchildren. The clan is learnt to be keen on visiting famous Indian monuments and places like the Taj Mahal, Rajasthan and Delhi. Rockefeller is believed to have landed in Delhi and chartered three planes to tour the country.

One as to ask why the rats leave the ship now. Maybe the rats know what is about to hit the ship. That may prove that animal (rat in this case) have some catastrophe smelling sense ability or just good connection. Anyway here goes down your image Rockefeller, from lion you are now down to a rat. :bye:

The WSDOT is installing an earthquake detection system on the Alaska Way Viaduct in downtown Seattle this weekend.

Now this:

Landslide Forces Evacuation of Ranch
http://www.nbclosangeles.com/news/local/Landslide-Forces-Evacuation-of-Ranch-118273524.html

A landslide near the small town of Somis in Ventura County forced the evacuation of a residence and several horses.

According to the Ventura County Star, a piece of land about 200 yards long and 100 yards deep moved downhill about 100 feet on a ranch located in the 7600 block of Bradley Road. A residence and 63 horses were being moved.

The landslide started around 6:30 a.m. A local property manager reported seeing trees falling and sliding on a hillside and contacted the Fire Department.

The cause of the landslide was not immediately known. A local geologist was called to investigate, the Star reported.

No injuries were reported.

It seems pretty urging to put down the atomic plants in that region right now!
It's crazy to still have atomic plants there after even scientists say that a major quake is very likely to occur in the near future.

look at this atomic plant for example:

I heard that this is the oldest and biggest atomic plant in america

Sounds interesting but I am thinking it might just be a holiday. It would be to obvious otherwise. If there was a mass exodus of more like him then maybe something might be up. Who knows? Time will tell... Unimaginable that the USA can be hit by a quake similar to the one that hit Japan. That will change the shape of the world considering the USA is the focal point of everything in this world.

Even Finland managed to push one in between:

Epicentre near Mäntsälä(some 50 kms nne of HKI), 2,8 on the Richter, near surface("only a few kilometres down"), evidently there was even some damage to buildings

Ok, tremors are not unheard of here but still...

Thanks Zlyja, the information you posted by Doug Copp was very interesting... i would have been under a door or a table.
Here is the video of his Turkish experiment.

There are some controversies about the findings from this experiment - especially regarding how the collapse pattern from an earthquake may be different from the way this experiment was designed.
It may be a good idea to read the whole thread In case of an earthquake .

IMO, I would put it like this:

If quake minor or building not coming apart -> go with "old school"

If quake major or building coming apart -> definitely go with "new school"

And then there is the question of how do you know the magnitude beforehand..?

I am nowhere near an expert in any of this but I do have some questions about Doug Copp's findings (I presume you are referring to him as the "new school"?). It makes sense that the "triangles" that he talks about do happen but as pointed out by his detractors, it is easy to identify such "triangles of life" after the earthquake has passed than while it is happening as stuff does tend to slide during the event. In a typical crowded living space, if one tries to curl up on the floor say beside a bed which then slides across the living space colliding with other stuff or say a wall, one could be crushed.
I guess it is good to know about the different theories and also use one's common sense and gut instinct which may be more in tune with the specific situation (like layout of the room in which one finds oneself) in case of such a disaster.

In my ongoing review of the C material, as well as Laura's previously published articles, I came across the following. It stopped me in my tracks. From the session dated 98-07-04, the C's gave the following answers to questions:

A: 27 days of record heat out of 30, oh my oh my! Suggest you awaken your
internet pals, as they are too busy chasing "goblins" to notice.
Q: (L) So, I should have something to say about this?
A: In Florida now, where to next? How about a shattering subduction quake
in Pacific Northwest of U.S.? We estimate 10.4 on the Richter scale. We
have warned of Rainier. Imagine a 150 meter high tsunami in Puget Sound...
Q: (L) does this subduction quake have anything to do with that UFO that
buried itself in the Pacific?
A: All are interconnected.
Q: Now, you have mentioned this earthquake. I know that you don't usually
give predictions, why have you done so now?
A: We do not give time tables.
Q: (L) Anything else other than a tsunami in Puget Sound and a big subduction
quake...10.4 on the Richter scale is almost inconceivable.
A: Rainier... caldera.
Q: (L) what about the caldera?
A: Expect one.
Q: (L) Other than floods, anything else for Florida upcoming?
A: All areas experience accelerating "freak weather patterns."
Q: (L) Okay, all of these freaky weather patterns and bizarre things going on
on the planet, how does it relate to the comet cluster and the brown star?
Is it related?
A: Human experiential cycle intersects.

My sense of the above is that it probably did not carry great urgency back in 1998. But now in 2011, in view of what just struck Japan, this exchange jumps to the forefront. I can only hope that when the C's say the future is somewhat indeterminate, that some miraculous escape is still possible.

I hear You.
I have no first hand experience of earthquakes but I do know buildings so the point I would like to make is this; if a larger building(especially concrete ones) starts to collapse and you're in it don't stick to "old school" or you will get squashed. Hiding under furniture simply won't do... Or lying on top of them for that matter.

Yes, I would follow You ;) :-[

Interesting excerpt from the transmissions and very troubling because another transmission was spot on with the magnitude for the recent earthquake in japan and only slightly off in terms of placement. A 10.4 is unimaginably destructive, and with recent signs of of landslides and sinking highways on the west coast it would appear its going to occur sooner rather than later.

If you don't have a survival kit like myself, better get one ASAP. The least you can do, if not the only thing you can do besides trying to move away from the coastal areas, which is probably almost impossible financially in short notice for nearly everyone. I've been looking online for a local retail store for over an hour now and there is about few - problem is that they are closed on the weekends so I have to figure something out timewise during the weekdays, if it is not too late by then.

At the moment, I think I will go with something from Redcross

http://esubmitit.sjpg.com/redcross_pub/home.cfm

Other then that, all I can try to do is to keep trying to inform my loved ones tomorrow and come up with an emergency plan before the quake hits. :(

I am not a seismologist, so this could be entirely normal, but there seems to be increased quake activity on the northwest coast of US/Canada over the last few days.
