Javier Milei has been elected president of Argentina

Well, I have this news. I went to the city today to do some paperwork. Specifically, at the Consulate General of Spain.

I will just say this. Expect a lot of Argentines going to Europe. Most of the people lining up to enter the consulate, clearly expressed that the reason for leaving was because of the upcoming Milei government.

So... maybe I will be able to visit some of you...

Adobe Said: Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, today (Monday, 4 December 2023), spoke with Argentinian President-elect Javier Milei, congratulated him on his election victory and thanked him for his support of the State of Israel in its war against the Hamas terrorist organization. The Prime Minister told the President-elect that he is a true friend of the Jewish people.
What is ironic and truly cynical is that these congratulations are from a true ENEMY of the Jewish people!

Exaclty, its amazing to see how Milei has sided with Biden's administration and effectively dismissed Trump. Has anyone told Milei that during Biden the left, that left he oh so despises, has had a free reign and has pushed very hard their agenda?

Elon re-posting, a video from a couple of years ago.

As I'm posting this link here, local news outlets are echoing this very thing. Regardless of how biased these media outlets are, one thing is certain. Elon does not do charity and what he is looking for is to stick his nose in here (Argentine lithium is a very juicy thing).

Meanwhile on twitter / X people commenting on when Tesla will appear in Argentina (Everyone wants a Tesla electric car they can't afford).

The Milei of that video appears calmer, but nevertheless and like Musk, they do not understand or do not want to understand Argentina's own history, and what is social justice. In the case of Elon, it is even understandable because of the intrinsic property of the Anglocentrism of Western civilization and the same cultural programming. But milei simply does not understand even if he was born in Argentina. But he is not the exception.

As I have already commented in other posts here, the social justice that Argentine society speaks of is based on the social doctrine of the Catholic Church, which in its own letter rejects communism / socialism.

The social doctrine of the Church is the set of social teachings that the Catholic Church calls any Christian or person of any origin and place to practice, based on the Gospel, the Magisterium and Tradition. The Compendium of the Social Doctrine of the Church and the Catechism of the Catholic Church define it as: "a renewed body of doctrine, which is articulated as the Church in the fullness of the word of God, revealed by Jesus Christ and through the assistance of the Holy Spirit, reads the facts as they unfold in the course of history". The end of the Social Doctrine of the Church mentioned in the conclusion of the Compendium and as the ultimate goal is the construction of the Civilization of Love.

The expression "social justice" was coined by the Italian Jesuit priest Luigi Taparelli, in the book Saggio teoretico di dritto naturale, appoggiato sul fatto ("Theoretical essay on natural law supported by facts"), published in 1843, in Livorno, Grand Duchy of Tuscany, where we read: ... "social justice must in fact equalize all men with regard to the rights of humanity...". He was thus one of the pioneers of the Social Doctrine of the Church. Properly the expression "social doctrine" would be used for the first time by Pius XI in his encyclical Quadragesimo anno who quotes Leo XIII, although he recognizes that the concern for economic and social problems is previous to Rerum novarum.

The great changes of the 19th century, such as the industrial revolution and the consequent growth of cities, had produced serious social and economic inequalities. There was a debate and struggle to establish a just relationship between labor and capital, hence the problem known as the workers' question.

Now, I know that many people in the world follow Elon Musk closely. A rare admiration for the man for his great technological and entrepreneurial achievements. (With enough money you buy brains. And I don't think he is a revolutionary genius. Good ideas need several people to manifest) But as I said before, he doesn't do charity. And those who do is just to avoid certain taxes.

But let's see, knowing that the issue of electric cars results in nothing more than a scam of the environmentalists, of the green movement that aims to create a new monopoly of people dependent on a system that has little or nothing of freedom. (A Tesla car can be blocked if the system determines that it should be) And knowing that Elon has now been mesmerized by the demon Bibi (as was Jordan Peterson), it seems to me that everything Elon may say or do, besides the obvious interest for money, is nothing more than BS wrapped in "good intentions". Let's put it bluntly, you buy twitter because you want to defend freedom of speech but you align yourself with a genocide and everything you can say and denounce about that genocide is put under scrutiny and you are suddenly labeled an anti-semite? In reality, it would appear that Elon was blackmailed by the demon Bibi and his minions after his trip to Israel. But hey, that doesn't make Elon a good guy.

Elon, from my point of view does not deserve any admiration....

Argentina's President-elect Milei replies to Musk's interest: 'We need to talk, Elon

Elon Musk, the billionaire owner of the social network X, shared a video Tuesday in which Argentina's President-elect Javier Milei says equality should never come before freedom, in a sign of how some notable conservatives are closely watching the incoming libertarian head of state.
“We need to talk, Elon,” Milei replied on X, formerly Twitter.
This is not the first time that Musk, the founder of SpaceX and CEO of Tesla, has expressed support for Milei on social media.
“Prosperity is about to come to Argentina,” Musk wrote when Milei won the election runoff on Nov. 19.

In the interview excerpt that Musk posted, Milei spoke against efforts to make societies more equal, saying it is far more important for people to be free.
“There’s a sublime phrase by Milton Friedman that I find to be outstanding, which is that when you prioritize equality over freedom, you end up achieving neither. But when you prioritize freedom over equality, you achieve many of both,” Milei said in the interview, referring to the American economist who won the Nobel Prize in Economics in 1976.
In the same interview, Milei said that John Stuart Mill, a 19th-century British philosopher, economist and politician, argued that a society that emphasizes equality “ultimately becomes a society of looters and it sinks. That is the history of Argentina.”

The president-elect, who takes office on Sunday, also said income redistribution involves “using the repressive apparatus of the state to take from the successful” and distributing it arbitrarily “based on what the person in power wants.”

According to Musk, it looks like prosperity has arrived, especially if it's in Patagonia and has plenty of cheap Lithium to finally be free !!!!

Milei does appear a lot calmer, and with a haircut!

Maybe not free, at least I hope not, but maybe Lithium will be cheap.. what I don't think will happen, is that it will not make Argentina richer, it will make some people a lot of money, Argentina itself will not see a cent, not even in taxes perhaps.

Zelenski confirmed to attend Milei's inauguration and even a protocol on aircraft shootdowns is being analyzed

The President of Ukraine, Volodimir Zelenski, will arrive in Buenos Aires next Sunday to participate in the inauguration ceremony of his peer Javier Milei, a presence that determined the authorities to take extreme measures and set up a strong security operation that will include a protocol to shoot down planes flying over Argentine airspace without authorization, official sources confirmed to Clarin.

The team of the leader of La Libertad Avanza worked in the last days together with the Ukrainian Embassy and with the United States so that Zelenski would be present in Buenos Aires among the delegation of leaders and guests for the inauguration of the libertarian. This was exclusively anticipated by Clarín on Wednesday.

Finally, on Thursday, two high-ranking officials of the current administration confirmed the arrival of the Ukrainian president to the country.

Same energy...

Elon does not do charity and what he is looking for is to stick his nose in here (Argentine lithium is a very juicy thing).

No doubt as an entrepreneur Elon is a shark and looks for any advantage. Elon had proposed a Tesla factory to be opened in Nuevo Leon, Mexico in the north of the country and very close to the lithium appeals, for this he asked the Mexican government for a subsidy of 50% of the investment and the agreement did not include the government as a partner no, no, no that's very communist

The word subsidy or business stimulus is the fancy word for gift or donation. AMLO denied such a subsidy and so Elon withdrew to Indonesia.

Now, will Milei give Elon Musk the subsidy for a Tesla factory? And if he does, wouldn't this go against his policy of not handing out public money?

Yes, but he has no solid policy as such, that I can tell.

Not sure if a factory in Argentina would be such a good deal, considering how the country will fare economically, although it may ensure cheap labor costs.

Just today it was announced that Argentina prohibits banks from accumulating dollars in the face of a possible devaluation

That would increase, the media adds, the supply in the official currency market and would help the central bank to support the peso just when operators are preparing for a devaluation due to Milei's arrival to power. Market prices point to a 27% drop in the Argentine peso on December 11, a day after the new government was sworn in, and investors see a 44% devaluation in the future with Milei.

Maybe not free, at least I hope not, but maybe Lithium will be cheap.. what I don't think will happen, is that it will not make Argentina richer, it will make some people a lot of money, Argentina itself will not see a cent, not even in taxes perhaps.
Yes, thanks for the clarification. Of course I meant free (viva la libertad carajo!) not gratuitous, however there is something in the english language that lends itself to this play on words that, depending on who sees it, can serve as learning to be distorted and easily manipulated. In Argentina Lunfardo is a kind of slang or metalanguage that serves the same purpose, lunfardo comes from the word lombardo which means thief and all the universe of words that this carries; the irony is that this makes the identity of Buenos Aires (and Argentina) and as the language builds the reality this linguistic programming can be the genesis of the problem or quilombo. There I leave it.

This is a petty good article spelling out what actually is going to happen to Argentina with Milei in charge.

"It looks like JP Morgan, Deutsche Bank, and possibly the U.S. Federal Reserve, (redundant) could be controlling the Argentine monetary system. If I were a cynic, (or realist) I think this could be called the old “bait and switch” technique."

"How in the world is Milei going to scrap the peso for the dollar, when the Argentina central bank has no dollars? There have been rumors, that Argentinians holding dollars around the world, would be so impressed with Milei’s promises, and would gain so much confidence, that they would repatriate their dollars. I would not hold my breath. The only other option is the borrow those dollars, and that would likely be from banks and investment companies in the U.S. on Wall Street, those like JP Morgan, Blackrock, and Citi-Bank. So who would control Argentina’s monetary system should this be the plan?"

In a secret summit, Milei asked Massa for help to unblock swap with China
He also asked for help with the IMF. They met last Sunday for two hours. The libertarian is worried about the debt deadlines he will have to face as soon as he takes office.

_____________________________________________________________

Sergio Massa and Javier Milei met last Sunday for two hours in a "neutral place", to talk about the state of the economy to be received by the libertarian. The Peronists Juan Manuel Olmos and Guillermo Michel and Karina Milei were also present at the meeting.

Massa assured him that he would leave him funds to pay the Christmas bonus and the December salaries and the necessary conditions to roll over the debt that expires next month. These data were later disclosed in a management closing report prepared by the Secretary of Finance, Raúl Rigo, whom Milei is trying to retain, as LPO anticipated.

Leonardo Madcur, in fact the chief negotiator with the IMF, will stay on to help at least in the first stage of the negotiations with the organization.

Milei was concerned about the next deadline of the US$ 2.3 billion debt with the organization and asked Massa to let Madcur stay on. Madcur would then move from his current position to replace Sergio Chodos as Argentina's representative before the Fund, at least during Milei's first months.

As revealed by LPO, between now and the end of the summer Argentina faces total expirations of 10 billion dollars and so far the appointed minister Toto Caputo has not been successful in obtaining external financing.
In fact, in the last conversation he had with the organization, Caputo did not manage to go beyond the rhetorical signs of support from the Fund's officials.

That is why Milei asked for support with China during the meeting. As this site revealed before the constant aggressions of the libertarian during the campaign, China suspended the Swap and now if he wants the dollars from the Asian power, Milei will have to travel to Beijing and sign a commitment agreement of "friendship" with the communist regime that he denounced during the campaign.

A very noisy chainsaw that doesn't even cut a toothpick...
