Sergio Massa and Javier Milei met last Sunday for two hours in a "neutral place", to talk about the state of the economy to be received by the libertarian. The Peronists Juan Manuel Olmos and Guillermo Michel and Karina Milei were also present at the meeting.
Massa assured him that he would leave him funds to pay the Christmas bonus and the December salaries and the necessary conditions to roll over the debt that expires next month. These data were later disclosed in a management closing report prepared by the Secretary of Finance, Raúl Rigo, whom Milei is trying to retain, as LPO anticipated.
Leonardo Madcur, in fact the chief negotiator with the IMF, will stay on to help at least in the first stage of the negotiations with the organization.
Milei was concerned about the next deadline of the US$ 2.3 billion debt with the organization and asked Massa to let Madcur stay on. Madcur would then move from his current position to replace Sergio Chodos as Argentina's representative before the Fund, at least during Milei's first months.
As revealed by LPO, between now and the end of the summer Argentina faces total expirations of 10 billion dollars and so far the appointed minister Toto Caputo has not been successful in obtaining external financing.
In fact, in the last conversation he had with the organization, Caputo did not manage to go beyond the rhetorical signs of support from the Fund's officials.
That is why Milei asked for support with China during the meeting. As this site revealed before the constant aggressions of the libertarian during the campaign, China suspended the Swap and now if he wants the dollars from the Asian power, Milei will have to travel to Beijing and sign a commitment agreement of "friendship" with the communist regime that he denounced during the campaign.
