Laura's books at Amazon

I've created the author page and added all the various editions of the books to it. They have a popup window that facilitates this by just clicking the "this is my book" button under the numerous editions, etc. It says it will all be combined and fixed up within five days, so let's see what happens.

Ah, so is that why the author's page is not yet been shown?

I think that having created it was a really good idea, plus, it will nicely compile all reviews under each edition. Having an author's page tends to give said author more relevance and some sort of credibility. I notice that in myself, even though I know that just because said author has a page on amazon it doesn't make him/her necessarily good, I sometimes tend to unconsciously give him/her a different relevance....the same brain pathways used for marketing, I suppose.

Added a review for The Secret History. I'm quite enjoying this!

People reviewing Laura's books: don't forget to review other books written by other authors. You don't want to be mistaken as a paid reviewer or anything like that.

Oh wait. Goodreads is another place we might want to jump in and give 5 star reviews for. Laura doesn't have to spend much time on there (other than creating a profile and linking up her books). The real work comes in for the readers and reviewers. I've already five starred a few of Laura's books there, as have other forum members I'm connected to on Goodreads.

Also, the book description for all The Secret History versions needs fixing due to an unsupported character:

Laura left the United States to live in France, where she is working closely with Patrick Rivière, student of Eugene Canseliet...

I noticed the Amazon author bio is up, excellent.

The books don't seem to have been combined yet. If I view Laura's author page (amazon.com) there are 51 titles:

Maybe now that they are linked up you can try to combine them. They don't seem to have combined themselves just yet.

Oh and I'm going to quote myself from earlier in this thread, emphasis mine:

I'm wondering if RPP and Laura have anyone in mind for the editing stages of Horns of Moses? I'd like to source an excellent structural editor, copy editor and proofreader and have the editors invoice me for the costs. I've come to know a bunch of editors in the publishing industry who are amazingly thorough. Some are booked out months in advance so this is something you'll need to think ahead with.

Also, is the dummies' guide to psychopathy still a work in progress or has it been shelved for the moment? I'd really like to participate or help it come into fruition.

Given the sheer amount of hard work and research you've put into Horns of Moses, it would be worth polishing this to perfection -- and not having to do the polishing yourself will free you up for other important matters. Having had all three types of editors working on my own book (a work of fiction, but still) I cannot emphasize how valuable they are to your work. Anyway, think about it. If and when you'd like to consider this just let me know.

Send me the details in an email. I'm still writing... over 200 A4 pages at this point, and I'm just getting hot!

I wonder how amazon will combine the reviews for books 5 and 6? The old versions have a separate 5 and 6, but the new one is a combined 5 and 6. I've just got through reviewing Wave book 4 and will review 5 next week.

I think until Amazon combines the reviews, it may be most fruitful to write reviews for the new editions instead of the old since people are more likely to see the new books. Not sure how they'll handle 5&6 either. It's a different situation than just new and old editions and so they might not combine at all.

I just checked and it doesn't look like Amazon has combined any of the books yet.

Nope, not at all. I wonder how long it is going to take in order to take effect. Plus with so many revised editions of the books, is each volume going to combine under one link, even though they are technically different in small, minute ways.

Another thing that I have noticed and have been wondering about is the cost of some of Laura`s books. I dont know if this is the norm, but some of the prices some sellers are selling the books for are outrageous! Could it be that its a way general law is going about trying to discourage people from purchasing the books. And if so, is RPP able to sell the books through amazon, and if not, can members post their books online for reasonable prices to bring down the overall average costs and level out the prices more.

Here are the ones that I found so far, and these are only the ones that are priced $100 or more which exclude the lower priced books that are often triple the cost of a brand new book from RPP:

And it often seems to be the same sellers - vanderbilt CA, anybook-ca, and calibris. With a few exceptions.

I don't go to amazon to look at those things but I will say that I AM surprise that, with so many people on this forum who have read my work, that there aren't more reviews from all of you. Maybe you didn't buy the book from amazon, but you can still write a review.
Today, I reviewed the two books I bought from Amazon written by Laura. The setup to write a review is easy and only takes a few minutes to do. Let's all say thank you and pay it forward. :cool2:

I purchased a few of the reccommended books from Amazon yesterday. I tried to get "The Secret History Of The World", but it was sold out. There were 65 five star ratings on this one, looks like the reviews are working.

Hi anart,

Thanks so much for taking the time to post the links. Not sure what happened there, couldn't get it a few days ago, although I did enjoy reading the reviews.

Have now ordered a copy and eagerly awaiting its delivery.

Thanks again!! :flowers:

I bought all the books of Laura in Kindle format. For now I'm rereading The Secret History ............ not a book for quick reading or entertaining, otherwise it is a challenging book in every way. The erudition in all matters in which the reading unfolds put the reader in a state of research that is not common in the case of a single reading. I was able to share a small part of their content with others and the reactions are from "I thought you were an intelligent person" up to, "I do not complicate my life with this nonsense!" Etc. Etc.
For me this book summarizes the efforts of many, many years of searching get in a wonderful, smart, intelligent and liberating book.
Thanks Laura and the wonderful group that is behind all this tremendous work.
There is something very touchy reading this book
I acquired the Spanish version and I have to say: I prefer the English version. And my mother tongue is Spanish!! And my English level is the translator used to send this message.
I am always with all of you

I finished reading "Apocalypse..." over the weekend and have left a review on Amazon.co.uk but just wanted to say a personal thank you to Laura here, on the off-chance you will see this. What a read!

FWIW, I noticed the other day that a Wave book had only like 5 or 6 reviews. Either a lot of reviews were wiped out (for instance, all my reviews are gonzeroni) or a whole lot more people here need to crank up and review more often at amazon.

We all read a lot and reviewing what is the most important material we ever come across is the least we could do.

Just to note that I just reviewed Petty Tyrants & Facing the Unknown book (2011) and there are no other reviews for this book. I basically grabbed bits from my old reviews of both Wave 5 and Wave 6 for this review.
