Laura's Stem Cells

I believe you've mentioned that your hyperinsulinism is genetic, which if I understand correctly means that you experience insulin resistance very easily due to endogenous insulin overproduction.

I did some initial reading on hyperinsulinism - seems there are two types of causes: genetic and environmental.
The genetic one seems to be extremely serious (congenital hyperinsulinism) and tends to affect infant quite badly, so is it a milder form of the mutations (ABCC8/KCNJ11) that you have Laura?
GLP-1 receptor antagonist Exendin-(9-39) seems to show some promise (lowers insulin/raises blood sugar).

I'm glad that you had such a positive experience in my country. :)

I hope that after 6 weeks we will get a new and healthy Laura. :flowers:

I’m glad to hear that you've received what it sounds like a superb treatment, Laura. I hope you will be well rested and soon all the soreness goes away. Wishing you a speedy recovery! I can't wait to see the new invigorated you, dancing and singing.

Awesome news! I am astonished at how quick the whole process was of raising money, travelling and then completing the treatment. Sounds like you went through some pretty horrific procedures. But you came out the other side! So hopefully it was all worth it. Wishing you a fast and not-so-painful recovery :D

I´m very, very happy to know about the professionalism of the medical staff and their more than blessed amazing human charisma, you´ve so well earned. When you first told us about a stem cells replacement as a next possibility, it´s when I fully realized how long and arduous your journey to get yours and others health as well in balance has been. I knew about some of your "accidents" through your own description, but was certainly far from getting the whole picture nonetheless. Gosh, you´ve turned upside down and juggle with every piece of health information since 2008, or so I remember, you deemed relevant!

I wish you have the most tolerable recovery from now on, and more good news to share with us further in time.
:hug2: :perfect:

It's wonderful to hear that you are home and recovering. Even more wonderful to hear about the excellent care you got from compassionate people. And, even more wonderful to hear that Gaby was with you all!

You will be in my thought constantly and here's a  for you. :)

Looking forward to the articles you and Gaby will be writing.

Thanks for the update, Laura. I am glad to hear that you are doing well and that you successfully completed your treatment. Take your time with recovery. Wish you all the best.

This is good news! Onwards and upwards. The treatment sounds tough, and I am glad that Ark was with you during this ordeal. I wish you are better very soon and that the stem cells are doing well! Take care. :hug2:

So glad you are home now after the treatment Laura. It sounds like you were in very capable and conscientious hands. Very best wishes for a speedy recovery. :flowers: :hug2:
