What an awesome News.

Really glad that you are feeling better and that you can walk, most of the time, without the canes.

I'm so glad to hear about this improvement, Laura! :cheer: :flowers:

That's great news, Laura! I'm so happy that the results thus far have been positive! Has there been any improvement with the tinnitus and jaw circulation that you had mentioned earlier in the thread?

Hi Laura,

Just wondering how you are feeling now? It's been a while since anything got updated on this thread. I'm hoping your knees are coming along fabulously
Curious about the tinnitus and jaw, etc. too

Funny you asked. I had an MRI done of my left knee two days ago and it is much improved. I'm still getting therapy, using the infrabed, and taking a few supplements and meds, but for the most part, I've put my two canes in the corner and rarely use them anymore!!!!

That's really good to hear. And the news about tinnitus improving gives those of us who are sufferers hope, that by improving our circulation we can relive the symptoms or even be cured.

Yeah, it does! I've printed out one of the papers about pentoxifyline to take to my GP at next visit. I've had tinnitus since before I started school so had in the main habituated to it, but the last three years it has been much more intense - louder.

Glad to hear the great news about your results Laura :-)

The tinnitus is still much reduced. In fact, every now and then it quietens so much it's like it flickers off. I'm going to look into the CBT solution to it since I've learned that it can also be related to crossover nerves from face to auditory. In other words, sensations on your face are experienced as sound.

The jaw is pretty good. I went to the periodontist and he did a thorough deep cleaning and suggested I use the tiny tooth brushes for between the teeth in addition to the water pik, so I am doing that and haven't had a flare up. I use it for chewing a lot trying to stimulate the bone to regenerate.

The MRI did not find any breaks in the knee cartilage as were found in the previous one. Also, the previous one talked about the thinness of the cartilage, and now it just says that it is of uneven thickness. It's no longer "bone on bone" either. So sounds like it is rebuilding.

The neuropathy of the left leg and foot is greatly improved and I'm still taking the methylfolate/B6/B12 combo for that. Still have some pain in lumbar if I stand longer than 5 or so minutes, but I'm having an MRI done of that next week. I won't like that one because I have to go all the way inside and that generates a lot of stress. Maybe I'll take a tranquilizer or something for motion sickness which can work. Heck, benadryl might do the trick.

So, all in all, it seems like I'm pulling out of the couple years of absolute hellish pain very nicely. Soon I should be able to return to the gym to build up some strength. My brain is back online and I guess that was what was worrying me the most, right after dealing with pain. I've got a freakish lot of work in front of me, but I'm trying to ease back into it gradually. I do appreciate everyone's patience. I feel pretty guilty not carrying my end of the load lately!

The Cass:
(A) You see a tool is something which you must know exactly how it operates, because otherwise it's not a tool; you are the tool of something else - the originator of the tool who may not have your best interests at heart. So you must exactly know, and have precise knowledge of, the tool if it is to be a tool. So a tool is a projection - an extension - of what is in you.

A: Otherwise you are the tool of the tool

Q: [laughter]. (L) You are the tool of the tool if you don't have real understanding of what it is and what it is supposed to do.

Indeed, don't please. You have been carrying it for so many years in front of us and giving us the example. Please, don't feel guilty about that but enjoy the fact that now there are more and more people ready to help you carry that load. :hug2:

So well said Gandalf, pretty my thoughts as well. :)

Thank you Laura for giving us update, and I'm so glad you feel better now. :flowers:

Thank you Laura for the update on your progress. So glad you are feeling better and my wishes to you for a full recovery! Please take it easy as I know you are used to doing more, take the time to heal.

Great to hear that you're feeling so much better on all fronts Laura. It must be nice to have confirmation from the MRI and even the doctors can see that your knee is getting better!
