A reader of the Missing 411 books forwarded us this quote by H.P. Lovecraft:
"The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. We live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of infinity, and it was not meant that we should voyage far. The sciences, each straining in its own direction, have hitherto harmed us little; but some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the deadly light into the peace and safety of a new dark age."
Thanks voyager for the catch with Love Crafts insight.
It becomes very apparent with all this electrical magnetic activity engulfing the planet, "Windows" are seemingly opening, and closing with strange after effects. Catching those unsuspecting whom do not heeded the warning of venturing into the wilds solo.
The power in numbers and vigilance are a must now with journeying of the great outdoors.
If it isn't temporary (dimensional) portals, "Windowfallers", UFOs, and or those elements "whom have more power than us" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OSGz4P5rGPo), preforming abductions, at will and will always go fishing for their dark experiments and research.
But the hook is truly ignorance to this real phenomenon. Knowledge Protects, Ignorance Endangers.
In the fist video by David Paulides, he talks about a recent case in the greater San Fransisco bay area that caught my eye when the story broke a few years ago. He only lightly touches on it, being there have been so many similar and even more bizarre cases since those dates. And that he more than likely is back logged in his investigations.
I will post what i found which is very compelling to say the least.
And your very welcome voyager.
Don’t Freak Out, But Women Are Mysteriously Dying In The North Bay

http://yourslownewsday.com/dont-freak-out-but-women-are-mysteriously-dying-in-the-north-bay/
Four years ago, I was very, very concerned about the mysterious deaths of three women in the North Bay Area. Two disappeared while walking on beaches in Point Reyes National Seahore, 1 hour north of San Francisco, another was found dead in Cazadero Creek, further north but also along Pacific Coast Highway 1. Rogue waves were blamed for the Pt. Reyes deaths, and there was no explanation for the creek body. I wrote a piece about this for the SF Appeal and along with SFist’s Brock Keeling, made a video of our visits to the Pt. Reyes beaches, complete with scary smooth jazz background music.
I continued to write about this, received several emails containing additional clues, concerns, and observations, and a phone call from a private investigator who was curious why I thought that these deaths might be the work of a serial killer. So I made a map.
Map containing locations of missing women in Pt. Reyes, dead woman in Cazadero Creek, and another dead woman in Fairfield, all from Jan-May 2010.
This month, in April of 2014, two women were found dead on Mount Tamalpais. As we discussed four years ago, these deaths are eerily reminiscent of the work of the “Trailside Killer”, David Carpenter. Friend of SND Christine Bronstein did a moving piece for the Huffington Post on these most recent deaths, and her concerns about hiking on the mountain.
Robert Graysmith (Jake Gyllenhaal in “Zodiac”) wrote a great book about the Trailside Killer. You should DEFINITELY READ IT AND DISCUSS IT WITH ME.
This past week, I received the following email:
Beth,
I stumbled across your blog after our Easter dinner conversation turned to serial killers and whether the missing women from Pt. Reyes tie into the 2 hikers found dead on Mt. Tam. I’m wondering if you’ve heard about the two women who were recently found dead, apparently of “falls” on Tam. Both of them were found in drainage areas and currently they’re saying the deaths are not connected and that no foul play was involved. One of the women was found in Fern Creek which is apparently where David Carpenter also killed one of his victims. Of course (like many), I find this too coincidental. I live up here on the mountain and am very concerned about who might be roaming around the trails. I was surprised to learn of the women who went missing in Pt. Reyes and I don’t recall their disappearance. I guess I’m reaching out as I’m curious to know what you think and if there is anything that can be done?
Thank you! Lady, I am ALL OVER THIS.
Both recent deaths on Mount Tam have thus far been determined to be accidents, falls into drainage ditches by women hiking alone. That may very well be the case. Forgetting the mysterious (?) deaths in 2010, let’s just look at the Mt. Tam deaths of this month.
1. People rarely die on Mt. Tam (unless they kill themselves, which tragically happens occasionally.) Two women accidentally dying in the span of two weeks is A LOT.
2. Falling down a mountain in the Spring is not necessarily fatal. What exactly did they die from? Did they die instantly?
3. Are the local authorities, for whom I have the utmost respect, exploring the idea of homicide? Are they considering the deaths from 2010? Do I watch too many episodes of Forensic Files?
We will continue to follow this closely here at Slow News Day. Seriously. Eve and I talk about this daily. Please join us.

Interesting story, Beth. I've been wondering the same thing. Keep is posted on any more theories or findings! I'm not going up there alone!

I look forward to a two-paraphrased-line cameo in your now-inevitable Lifetime Original Movie "She Google-Mapped Danger: On The North Bay Trail of Terror".

I've been hiking these trails (alone) for 20 years and don't know what to make of the lack of information on the deaths of these women. They didn't fall, and I can't hike up there alone in good conscience. Now that I've found your blog, and this info on additional deaths in the area, it's even more disturbing. Maybe we can get some answers ...

If you haven't read any of David Paulides' "Missing 411" books or seen his websites, I highly recommend that you do. Much to ponder . . . .

I think I've seen your blog back when Point Reyes women disappeared--I travel alone and back then decided to stay out of that area, as it didn't feel safe. I remember also the Cazadero Creek case and what little they allowed into the local press was making it look way too "off" to be an accident. In general...too many coincidences. Regarding Mt. Tam--it's June and not a word about cause of death of these women had been released. This is unfair to all local people who hike alone: there needs to be some closure to this. What are they hiding, why such secretiveness? They originally stated that they should have the cause of death for Glinkowski after the toxicology tests by mid-May: not a word in either case. I've seen a personal report where there was a description of the location where the 2nd woman "fell"--she'd have to walk quite a few feet off the trail, actually, before she coudl fall. No, I don't believe that any of these were accidents. Silence and hiding on the part of the PD doesn't help to trust their "guesses". Back when Cary Stayner was on the rampage around Yosemite, they went as far as assure the public they caught the perpetrators--it was a blanant lie, which lead to another person's death. Someone should pressure the authorities to release the cause of death---right now it looks like they're hiding something.

PS: one reason they're not releasing the cause of death is that the drugs might have been involved. In any case, the hiding of information only makes previous statemetns about "not suspecting foul play" look like lies and cover-up to protect local business interests. They better release medical examiner's findings ASAP.
Woman's body recovered on Mount Tamalpais

(04-17) 21:13 PDT SAN FRANCISCO --
Marin County sheriff's deputies on Thursday recovered the body of a woman matching the description of a 50-year-old experienced hiker from Mill Valley who vanished after venturing up Mount Tamalpais the previous night.
The as-yet-unidentified victim appears to have plunged 40 to 50 feet down a mountainside drainage area, according to Marin County sheriff's Lt. Doug Pittman. "She was located in a very steep and treacherous drainage," he said.
Crews found the body about 4:45 p.m., just over two hours after the missing woman's father came to the Mountain Home Inn, a mile east of Pantoll Ranger Station, and reported her missing. The father was summoned there when someone found the missing woman's dog and called the number on the tag.
Authorities later learned the woman had been hiking Wednesday night with a companion who planned to stay the night on the mountain. The victim decided to go back to her car, but she never made it back. Her father found her car in the parking lot, leading him to summon authorities.
Her identity must be confirmed by tests, Pittman said. He said the missing woman was "quite familiar with the mountain" and may have opted to go off the beaten path.
The disappearance bore some similarities to the tragic case of a woman who died after disappearing from the same area on March 30.
Magdalena Glinkowski, 33, left a note saying she was going on a hike; her car was found April 4.
Her body was found April 12, down a steep slope of a drainage area not far from where she was last seen and not far from where the second body was found.
Pittman said a determination on the cause of death awaits the results of toxicology tests and the process could take up to six weeks.

One Woman Dead, Two Missing In Sonoma/Point Reyes
by Brock Keeling in News on

Three women, ages 37, 77 and 34, have disappeared since January 10. The locations are "approximately 60 miles apart if you take Highway 1 straight up from Pt. Reyes to Calzadero." Sleuth Beth Spotswood has a theory that this might be the work of a serial killer. Which, of course, we hope isn't the case.
Anyway, let's go to the facts:
A 34-year old Wine Country Film Festival Volunteer named Erica Shane was found dead in a creek on Tuesday afternoon. "Her Subaru Forrester was parked 'unusually' 200 yards away." Spotswood goes on to speculate, "Just off the top of my head, she was run off the road, ditched her car and ran."
Silvia Lange, 77, went missing on January 23 while walking alone on the cliffs of Pt. Reyes.
Before that, on January 10, a Ford Ranger belonging to Katherine Truitt, 37, of Alameda was discovered in a parking lot at McClures Beach. She is described as 6 ft tall, 145 lbs, with shoulder length brown hair.
Neither Lange nor Truitt have turned up.
