My dog Laika died this night

So sorry to hear this Loreta. I have watched a few animals pass in my lifetime and it was heartbreaking. Thing was neither of them were mine. I can only imagine how you must feel. Sending you hugs. Take care. :flowers:

I'm sorry to hear that! Take care of yourself too and may Laika rest in piece! :hug2:

Dear Loreta, I have teary eyes and a lump in my throat after hearing about your friend Laika. I know how you are feeling, losing a beloved animal is heartbreaking, they are so beautiful, loyal and loving. Someone once told me that my favourite dog is around me and that he sleeps on my bed with me at night - I like that thought and still hold on to it 15 years later! I'm sure we must see them again one day, it's such a great love we have for our animals, just like (sometimes more than!) those human beings close to us.

I'm really sorry about your loss, Loreta. It must have been terrible to not be able to help Laika, but as others have said, you were there with her, and I'm sure she appreciated having her most loved friend by her side. Take care and hugs! :hug2:

Thank you so much for your gentle words and I can see also how good people you are, all of you.

Finally a friend lend me the money and I have now at home the ashes of Laika in a beautiful box from India. The trip to Madrid was really a nightmare, during more than 3 hours in Madrid I was like in a labyrinth, in my car, incapable to find the path to get to the incinerating facility. It is the first time in my life that I lived something like this. I was exhausted. Finally I asked a girl that was in a car to tell me directions, she told me "follow me!" and then finally I was out of the labyrinth. At that moment I knew that was Laika, helping me. :)

Dogs are guides, teachers, friends. And much more. That's why it is so hard when they left us, physically. Not anymore can we caress them, touch them, kiss them, talk to them. See their smile.

Thank you my friends. :hug2:

I'm so sorry Loreta to read of the sudden passing of your beloved friend. I know from reading your posts how much you love animals and how strongly you connect to them.

As others have already said, he was with you - his beloved person - his whole world when he left this one for another.

So is this about it? We help our friends 2D by our love and comprehension to make a certain transition and also are they helping us thanks also with the help they have received in other lives by people like us? It is like two jars of water that communicate and we are in the middle-

Today I start my mourning after the strange "journey" of yesterday. Books will help me, specially the books of Laura that I am reading now.

This is Laika, I want to share how a beautiful being she was, how happy she always was, an example of simplicity and beauty.

She was beautiful, loreta. May the love you had for her stay with her forever.

I had a dog named Laika as well. My sister and I named her after the Russian dog Laika who went into space. A pop band called Mecano made a song after her as well. It rhymes in Spanish and here is the English translation:

She was Russian and her name was Laika
She was a very ordinary dog
Pass from being a simple animal
To be a World-Wide star...
chorus:
Preparing to ignite the rocket to send her
[Mission] Control on Earth says to Laika: goodbye...

In the base everything was silent
Waiting for any signal
All with their helmets on their ears
They heard the dog barking

While on Earth there was a big a party
Shouts, laughs, tears and champagne
Laika looked through the window, [asking]
What could this ball of color be?
And what I´m doing revolving around it?...

One night through a telescope
A new light appeared
Nobody was able to give an explanation
To the appearance of the new sun

And if we rely on the legend
Then we should think
That on Earth there´s one dog less
And in the sky, one more Star

And in the sky, one more Star

What a beautiful girl! I am so sorry for such a sudden and upsetting passing of your beloved Laika. She is probably sitting with you now with her chin on your shoulder while you type wanting you to feel comfort and to know how much gratitude and love she feels for you.
hugs
