I've been blogging a little bit more on Steemit:

There not heaps I've added here but I find the platform very interesting and see lots of potential in the concept. I plan to do more.

What's unique about Steemit as a social platform is it pays in STEEM, a cryptocurrency that is part of the social media platform.

There was an article on it I just saw on Sott.net from one of Laura's Facebook posts:

What I've noticed on the platform are how communities come together and are supportive of sharing, upvoting and commenting on each other's posts. This helps the type of content gain more traction on Steemit as well as helps individual bloggers too.

I had a lightbulb moment after seeing Laura's Facebook post on this that it would be great for more Cass members and those generating material for Sott to have a presence there. It's could be a helpful way for both sharing the type of info that's here as well as helping individuals members too. It is actually a source of income for some people who are successful on the platform.

Anyway, interested if you feel that's a good direction too.

I saw Laura's post about it too and decided to sign up for it. Still waiting to hear back from Steemit about it, but it look's like an interesting concept. Maybe SOTT and the forum having some sort of presence on there could be of benefit, especially if they aren't into masking content and creating echo chambers. Will add you on when accepted.
 
I'm on the platform too (@hrock). Would be great to see more members on there to generate a presence for Sott and help each other.
 
I'm waiting to hear back from them as well, but will definitely add you both (Bobo08 and alkhemst) if my account gets approved. The platform is a really interesting, and I'm curious to see how it works.
 
Yes I think it would be a great way to get more exposure to Sott analysis articles. Many of the long form and quality writings do very well there. Seems to be a huge backlog of account approvals though. My wife wants to add her creative writing there, signed up about a week and a half ago but still no account. I'll follow you guys too @Bobo08, @hrock. Let me know other Steemit handles to follow when approved - thanks!

I've been on steemit since it's launch, and I'm a fan of the graphene technology, but there are major issues the community has to address.

rather than use steemit.com it could be considered for sott.net to interface with the graphene chain directly.

I did as well. It seems like a there's potential here for this to be a good platform for sharing things. I'll add peeps when/if I get approved.

Those links seem to require bitcoins or some other sort of cryptocurrency to use, which I don't have. I was able to sign up by just going to the steemit website. It appears free to register.
 
I also thought it was a very interesting website, and all the topics it covers are awesome! I submitted a request and will wait to see what happens. I'll also add you guys if I get accepted. Thanks for sharing!
 
Waiting for my account on Steemit to be approved, looking forward to share Sott articles on a new platform. For the time being having as well account on VKontakte, it's nice and clean platform almost looking like Fb before censorship and marketing rushed in.

Just to add my 2c, I really like Steemit as a platform. Not only can one publish content without fear of being algorithmically silenced, incentive is built into upvoting interesting content which is referred to as curation rewards. This is a bit of a game-changer imo because the currency, "Steem", is a tangible crypto token that can be exchanged for spendable money. In short, it's a win-win for both curators AND content creators!

I can't really think of another social media site that rewards both creators and curators directly. Maybe a Sott Steemit account would do well?

FWIW, I'm probably a bit biased because cryptography and associated implementations are interests of mine but I guess with most things we will have to wait and see how all of this will turn out.
