If you want to find users on steemit, the best way is just to put it into the address bar.

The search function is god-awful.

Just type it like this, put the @ in front of the user name.

For now, it all looks quite complicated for me

* Don't lose your password. This is the single most important thing to take care of. If you lose your password, you will lose access to your account with all the money, followers and posts in there. So don't just save it to your computer. Save it to a separate USB or print it out to a piece of paper and keep it somewhere safe.

That's very important. Apparently at SteemIt there's no such thing as recovering a lost password.

Does this mean that I need to save that initial password or can I change it now and preserve my new one?

Thanks Bobo08 for the notes, they are very helpful. I did share two posts from SOTT today and got a comment from that cheetah bot in one of them. But I was thinking, in regards to writing our own posts, we could write about topics related to things that are being covered on SOTT, and then share some links from SOTT about that particular topic. Im not sure if also posting links to other websites is ok, im a bit confused on that now

Yes, you can write about anything and add any links you want if you feel creative. Or you can summarise / paraphrase articles on SOTT and post a link back. Adam's post here: https://steemit.com/feminism/@adanie15/feminist-lies-people-take-for-granted is a good example on how it should be done.

Yes, you can change the initial password and save the new one.

Thanks Bobo. But now I see that I can only use the generated passwords (and not new one to my choice) so I guess that the new one would be just as complicated and I will preserve this initial.

I think Carl just compiled Steemit usernames into one document after forum members posted them in this thread themselves.

By the way, I'm still waiting for my account to be approved, hopefully this will happen soon so I can join you guys there :)

Just remember that if Steem takes a dive at the same time that your pickup truck needs a transmission, and that was your only 500,000 dollars, then you are SOL. If want to grow your Steem account organically, then no problem...

Does that mean that someone could buy Steam Power to effectively censor someone?

I mean, I know the blockchain is supposed to be inviolable and all that, but even so, that wouldn't stop alphabet soup trolls with money to burn.
