Needing clarity of practical exercise in the WORK. :)

Is the only real practical work self observation and everything else piggy-backs off that improving?
Self-remembering gets more pronounced with when self observation reaches a certain point of success and progress?
External consideration becomes a gift once (again) self observation peels back our false self's, and slowly we grow a real "i"?
We can only let go of internal consideration once we have progressed very much further in the process of none-identifying?

Is the focus for someone who's starting the journey (My 3rd attempt, but I'm starting from scratch) solely self observation and creating separation at the start?

Many thanks in advance :)

My help to you is to give you more questions.

What is the central objective of third density?

Can this goal be forced or is it something natural?

Can anyone know if the objective has been met?

And then live and be yourself, It will be easy or will cost "work".

I hope it helps you.

Scholars who have read hundreds of books will likely help you with many more things.

Thanks for your reply Wandering Star.

The objective of 3rd Density? To become conscious beings?

Can the goal be forced? It has to be according to the "work".

Hi melatonin. Perhaps it might be of interest to start with the recommended readings. I added at the end a very important thread.

A very warm :welcome: to the forum!

Is the only real practical work self observation and everything else piggy-backs off that improving?
Self-observation is one of the first steps of the Work on ourselves, but there is a lot more that builds on it. Once you become aware of your programs and blockages (eg. mental limiting beliefs, emotional charges and wounds, bad habits) you can then start on changing, letting go of and healing all these things that hold us back.

Self-remembering (being as present as possible during the day, instead of checking out and dissociating) is also a central part of the Work and kind of builds on self-observation.

I see that you are around for quite some time so I assume you´ve read some of the books already. But as you have noted, you feel like you are at the beginning. I also felt like that many times and that is good, IMO. I suppose it could mean that some of your programs/beliefs/etc were perhaps crushed and now you feel like you´re back to the basics.

What others said about reading books, I also think it´s a good idea. I.e. (re)reading The Wave and Narcissism "Big Five" and stuff like that might give you a fresh look on stuff you missed before. It is normal that brain filters information when we are not ready for it, and it happens to me too when I take some chapter and reread it and figure out things that I didn´t understand before or find things I completely overlooked before.

You can also "start" with basics as in: is my diet in order, do I take my supplements, do I spend time on meditations/prayers (i.e. try some meditations from Cass YouTube channel Cassiopaea.org), do EE regularly, and so on.

Don´t lose faith and beat yourself up.

Forget all about saying “I should”.
Replace it instead by saying “I love to do”.
If you need five lives to accomplish what you want, let this be the first of those five.
And without any “time obligation” – start it.
First step first.
Enjoy it. Love yourself. Take care of yourself.
This is the only thing that the Universe wants from you.

I just read a paragraph from a session and I remembered your thread.

(Guest) When they mentioned the "admitting it, seeing it, atoning", is that the process for awakening true conscience?

A: Yes. First admit that you are a "jerk". This must be viscerally known. You must understand that you have been reacting all your life based on emotions from another life that is over and those feelings do not apply here and now.

Q: (L) It's a tall order.

A: Yes

Q: (Guest) Is it too tall?

A: No

Q: (Bubbles) Can he do it?

A: We think so.

Q: (L) From him to whom much is given, much is required. When somebody has many gifts, they are expected to use them. You have many gifts. What are they for, if not first to be applied to organizing yourself?

A: One note to Guest: A key to observing the self is to turn the attention simultaneously towards others to notice their true reactions to what you think you are doing or how you think you are being perceived.

Q: (L) I guess that means you have to be ruthlessly honest. If you think that you are doing this or that, and that it should be being perceived that way, IS that really what's happening? And I guess that means getting feedback. Because you may think that what you're doing is being perceived a certain way, and it isn't. So, self-observing is walking between two worlds: the inner and the outer, simultaneously.

Can the goal be forced?

Nothing can be forced. As interesting as the simple fact that all the answers you receive here, direct you to continue researching on your own so that you learn naturally and progressively as it should be.

You will not learn what you need only by memorizing without experimenting. My suggestion, read the recommended reading and you will find the answer to your questions yourself in various ways so that only you can understand it.

I'm not saying not to ask, I'm just mentioning to you that even if you don't have the answer you expect, even that simple fact, it's a natural way to motivate yourself to find the answer for yourself and that translates into self-discovery, which is also a fundamental part of working on oneself.

Is the only real practical work self observation and everything else piggy-backs off that improving?

No. Real practical work means striving towards an objective aim, and everything else - including self-observation, consciousness, and self-remembering - piggybacks off that aim.

Self-remembering gets more pronounced with when self observation reaches a certain point of success and progress?

Self-remembering gets more pronounced as one pursues an aim, and programs get in the way and hinder us, and through self-observation we see those programs, and then using our memory, we see how they aren’t just in the way of us achieving our present aim, but can be traced back through our entire life.

External consideration becomes a gift once (again) self observation peels back our false self's, and slowly we grow a real "i"?

External consideration becomes a gift once we become convinced, through self-observation and self-remembering, of how mechanical we are and can see how things operate inside us, because then we can extrapolate that out to other people being the same as us, and we can understand them better.

We can only let go of internal consideration once we have progressed very much further in the process of none-identifying?

I’d say that’s theoretically correct, but as 3D STS beings, I don’t think it’s really possible.

Is the focus for someone who's starting the journey (My 3rd attempt, but I'm starting from scratch) solely self observation and creating separation at the start?

No. An aim - a personal goal - should be the focus. That’s what creates the ‘fuel’ for the self-observation. It’s what brings the little i’s to the surface to be observed.

Is the focus for someone who's starting the journey

I can only speak from the perspective of what worked for me (or that I delude myself worked for me), at least in the sense of developing myself. Ultimately there's no measure for such things.. it's about getting to a place where you think you are on a path you'd like to be on.

Reading most of the material certainly helped, e.g in search of the miraculous, the various Castaneda books, the Wave, the various psychology books etc. Of course, don't take your health for granted either. What really took it to the next level for me personally was finding a way to work with my machine, in a way that I feel allowed the character development described by Dabrowski in his book "positive disintegration" to take place (or feel like it took place).

Everyone is different so the "material" you have at your disposal to work with will be different. For me, in hindsight, perhaps, from a spiritual/esoteric perspective I had debilitating anxiety and depression many moons ago. These were the key material I had that were inherent in my machine to work with. Depression was the first dragon to be slayed, then anxiety is an interesting one, as it's not necessarily slay-able but it is something you can tame. As someone who spent many many years seeking out anxiety, you come to learn that there are certain areas where it is healthy to seek it out, and others where it isn't. So you seek it out in the healthy places, and avoid venturing to the unhealthy ones. In this sense, you can never really slay it because there will always be areas that you will accept it exists but acknowledge you have no interest in meeting it in those places. Hopefully makes sense!

In any case, by putting yourself on a collision course with the things in you that you must overcome, you come to meet yourself and your machine, and generate heat which is the fuel you need. To overcome such things draws qualities from you that allow you to climb that ladder of your own personal development into a person you feel more comfortable being. The process is gradual and it's only with consistent application that you slowly disintegrate from one level and reintegrate on another, and so on.

The other thing, whilst not something to wish upon yourself, is if you happen to find yourself in such a situation where you are blessed to be in the company of a petty tyrant... Well, you can work with such individuals in such a way that the net effect is advantageous to you from a spiritual/esoteric point of view, but erhmm... it's not something to seek out, because such situations aren't entirely under your control.

In any case, I think the key is not necessarily just learning what the books say, but finding a way to Work in real life if that makes sense - not in a theoretical way, but in a very real way. Life will give you ample opportunities, or ways "in", to get on that pathway. Personally I think at some point it takes more energy to avoid investing effort in such stuff rather than just committing to it because we literally live in a world that is here to harvest our suffering.

A clever person told me, "if the deal is that you must suffer in this life, you might as well get something out of it also, so you might as well use the suffering as fuel to climb that ladder". I lie, no one said that.. but it makes sense. 😉

I think I mentioned VIEW (Joe Hudson) in your other thread - I will briefly mention it here again as sort of an answer:
V for vulnerability - which means live/ say what you feel is true even if scary
I for impartiality - observe, but do not judge
E for empathy - be with the feeling of others, but not in it
W for wonder - approach life with a sense of wonder and amazement

Now my answer to your question is - this framework is generally taken to be used with others, but you can just as well use it towards yourself: look at/ treat yourself with vulnerability, impartiality, empathy and wonder, and things will shift. And the funny thing is: You might not really be able to intellectually answer the questions that haunt your mind (all those pesky why questions - why am I [fill in blank]), but the questions seem to loose their poignancy and finally become unimportant.
