opiate withdrawal

Ziggy,

You're going to have to have faith in the moderators and the forum guidelines, which were created to keep the forum, its owners and members safe. We have many enemies who look for the slightest reason to shut things down. Discussing illegal activities would be one reason. While it would be possible to have discussions about certain illicit materials in an academic way, it would only take one person not being sufficiently vigilant, or who did not understand the limitations, to push past a point of no return. Therefore, erring on the side of caution benefits all of us.

Since this is not a debating forum, rather a research forum, certain lines need to be drawn. In some cases, this may result in not being able to discuss some things that could prove beneficial but present too grave a risk.

Any of us interested in therapies for addiction have all sorts of other venues to research and discuss them, so, as interesting as they may be, it's not the end of the world not being able to bring some of them up here.
I hope that helps explain things.

Agreed. Also, you may wish to review the forum guidelines - as these types of discussions are moderated rather strictly, and for very good reason. It's not about you and what you want to share -- it is about what is safest for the community at large - and the forum guidelines are quite clear about what is and is not allowed.

Please don't, since it is illegal in the US and Canada. Thanks.
Perhaps I am incorrect, but it was not clear to me what 'the old files' may contain. Perhaps they would contain information that is illegal, and perhaps not. However, unless someone other than ziggystarlust knows the contents, I think it is too soon to say. Regardless, a thorough review of the forum guidelines is likely in order. In the event something is discovered of relevance, perhaps the guidelines can serve to inform whether or not such discoveries may be appropriate to share in this forum.

My old files had info on "nutrients" like say Reservatrol and some Frequency Machines that were helpful. And at one time, MELATONIN became ILLEGAL in Canada and was pulled from shelves, only to reappear due to public outcry. So you want to bar discussion of that? What about LSD for studied benefits. Sott.net has 15 articles on its purported therapeutic benefits, alcoholism being one of them. Do a search.

What is and is not permitted for discussion in this forum is very clearly outlined. Should you wish to discuss a particular article SOTT has carried, I don't see any cause for alarm.

However, should you remain confused as to which topics may or may not be discussed, I would urge you to read the forum guidelines again, and then form your questions (or submissions) with those in mind/context.

Should we ban a discussion of "whole milk", as in unpasteurized, because some states have outlawed its sale? Just because the government deems something illegal, doesn't mean it shouldn't be discussed if there are proven theraputic results.

It's not really your choice what we do and do not allow to be discussed on this forum, so if you can't be polite and follow guidelines, please find another forum to frequent.

Quite frankly, drug users doing a google search aren't going to come cause problems on this forum searching for raw milk or melatonin - but they sure will searching for other illegal substances. This forum is watched very closely and we will not allow discussion of illegal drugs - period. If you have a problem with that, please move along. If you want to continue to participate on this forum, please drop the arrogant attitude.
