The deadly Paris attacks were likely carried out by professional commandos, not by a group of ragtag Takfiri fighters, American researcher and historian Dr. Randy Short says.

Dr. Short made the remarks in phone interview with Press TV on Tuesday after bombers and gunmen launched coordinated attacks in and around the French capital on Friday night, killing at least 129 people and injuring more than 350 others.

Daesh (ISIL) terrorists, who control parts of Syria and Iraq, have claimed responsibility for the deadly attacks, but independent analysts have questioned the credibility of their assertion.

“This looks like a commando operation from professionals,” Dr. Short said. “Who knows more about the assassination teams and commando squads than the French, British and the Americans and the Israelis?”

CIA Director John Brennan said on Monday the spy agency “knew” Daesh terrorists were planning to attack “Europe in particular.”

The CIA chief said the Paris massacre was “not a surprise” as "we knew that plans or plotting by ISIL was underway looking at Europe in particular as a venue for carrying out these attacks."

Dr. Short called Brennan’s announcement not “surprising” at all.

“Daesh, or ISIS or ISIL, whatever new name they are gonna come up for this group, is basically a bastard stepchild of al-Qaeda and other foreign intrigues by the secret services of the Israelis, the British, French, Turks and others,” he said.

“I want to remind anyone who is listening that there is a thing called Operation Gladio that ran from the late 1940s all the way into the ‘80s until it was exposed where the United States and NATO partners had deliberately covert operations to kill, terrorize, maim and frighten the citizens of the central west, northern and southern Europe into being willing to vote away their rights in order to be protected from communist or nationalistic terrorism,” he stated.

The analyst said the Paris incident “is very reminiscent of attacks made on airports in Italy and other places [during the Operation Gladio].”

Dr. Short said he faces difficulty in “believing that France [that] has such an effective secret service along with the other countries of Europe that they can’t tract these people.”

“They know the specific number of French nationals that are fighting, either stationed in Turkey, or in Syria. Why these people be readmitted into the country, were allowed to come in with weapons and arms and training. I don’t buy it,” he stated.

David Cameron has signalled he will ask MPs to approve Britain launching air strikes on Isis targets in Syria by Christmas.

He promised to set out a "comprehensive strategey" for defeating Isis and said the case for military intervention in Syria had "only grown stronger" since Islamic terrorists killed 129 people in the devestating terror attacks in Paris on Friday.

But he will only go ahead with a vote in the House of Commons if he is confident of winning, Downing Street said.

Ministers will set out the plans to bomb Isis in Syria by the end of the month, meaning the first air strikes could be launched before Christmas.

The Prime Minister told MPs he will take the rare move of responding personally to the Foreign Affairs Select Committee report that set out grave reservations about expanding the RAF bombing campaign to Syria.

He signalled he would then seek to win a vote backing military intervention in the war-torn country.

The BBC has reported that the Ministry of Defence will hold briefings with MPs to set out the case for military action in the first week of December.

The 28 EU member states accepted the French request but it was not immediately clear what assistance would be forthcoming. Britain is agonizing over whether to join air strikes in Syria, while Germany is reticent about joining military action outside Europe.

The French strike on Raqqa involved 10 fighter jets launched from the United Arab Emirates and Jordan. Defense officials said the United States had stepped up intelligence sharing, enabling Paris to identify more specific targets.

Prime Minister Manuel Valls said Hollande would travel to Washington and Moscow next week to press his case for an alliance in Syria.

At present, Russia is supporting Assad’s forces in conjunction with Iran and Lebanese Hizbollah militia, while the United States and France are in a coalition with Sunni Arab states opposed to Assad.

Anti-ISIS activists in Syria claim a stadium, a museum, medical clinics and a political building have been hit after France launched airstrikes in retaliation for the Paris terror attack.

Raqqa Is Being Slaughtered Silently, a group of anonymous activists inside the ISIS stronghold, wrote that heavy strikes had been taking place since this morning. The group began documented the airstrikes at around 8am and said it had increased to "30 airstrikes" this evening. No civilian casualties have been reported yet, according to the group.

A spokesperson for the group suggested it was France who were behind the bombs. They said water and electricity was cut due to the strikes. They added: "It's sad how it always falls on our heads, god bless and safe [sic] the civilians of Raqqa."

If the above is true, then it is not surprising given that the US gave the target coordinates.

A friendly game between the German and Dutch national teams in Hannover has been cancelled, German media report, citing police sources. The stadium is being evacuated.

Police have reportedly found an ambulance car “full of explosives” outside the Hannover stadium, according to a local newspaper, citing police sources.

The match was cancelled due to “security reasons,” police earlier told AFP.

The evacuation of the stadium is underway. Spectators that had already taken their places in the stands have been asked to leave the stadium via loudspeakers.

A “specific threat” has prompted the evacuations according to German BILD, citing police sources. Security services have received information about a potential terrorist attack “that should be taken seriously,” according to dpa, a German news agency.

There is “an absolutely real” threat for all of Hannover, the city’s police chief, Volker Kluwe, told NDR news, reportedly referring to a possible plan by terrorists to set off an explosion during the match.

The game, which was due to start at 8:45 pm local time (19:45 GMT), was supposed to be attended by German Chancellor Angela Merkel and other Cabinet ministers.

Police in Hannover have also been evacuating the TUI Arena, where a music event was about to start, German media report.

Earlier, police had blocked the entrance to the stadium for half an hour due to a “suspicious object” that turned out to be a suitcase left without attendance, German media report. The police later said that it had not posed any threat.

After the terrorist attacks in Paris, security has been significantly stepped up in Hannover, with police officers armed with machine guns patrolling the streets.

Tonight, I will be going to the England vs France match at Wembley stadium. It is important we show solidarity with all those affected by the tragic events that took place in Paris on Friday.

It is right that we are reflecting on the appalling attacks in Paris and how we agree an effective international response. That needs to focus on negotiating a comprehensive settlement of the Syrian civil war through the United Nations, which is the only way to end the threat from ISIS.

That is the serious challenge facing us all. I am therefore disappointed that comments I made yesterday in regard to a "shoot to kill" policy have been taken out of context and have distracted from this discussion.

Nonetheless, I would like to clarify my position. As we have seen in the recent past, there are clear dangers to us all in any kind of shoot to kill policy. And we must ensure that terrorist attacks are not used to undermine the very freedoms and legal protections we are determined to defend.

But of course I support the use of whatever proportionate and strictly necessary force is required to save life in response to attacks of the kind we saw in Paris.

Indeed, and what's most telling here is not so much that the US is providing civilian infrastructure as targets (which they have always done) but rather the fact that France asked the US to provide intelligence instead of asking Putin when they are fully aware that the Russians would be much more reliable. IMO, this can only mean that the reason for France's active engagement in Syria has little to do with wanting to defeat ISIS but it's rather about falling in line with the US/Israeli agenda, which was the main objective of these terrorist attacks.

Sorry if this is mentioned already, but I find it quite "convenient" that all of the three Paris suicide bombers at the stadium detonated their devices outside. From the testimonies, these guys were very professional. So if the (supposed) goal of the stadium-team was to cause as much destruction and death of civilians as possible, perhaps even harming Hollande, one would think that they would have figured out a solid plan of how to enter inside the stadium. Amazingly, even the guy who was frisked, and who was denied entry to the stadium, walked away...and blew himself up with no bystanders.

Why not both an illusion and warning? It gave Hollande the credibility to make his warmongering speech, and at the same time reminded him there's a line he needs to toe.

It's kind of funny that Putin immediately leaped in with the 'let's work together' line. "We've both suffered losses, we understand." How can Hollande refuse? Bet Washington didn't think Putin would take that stance, and is fuming. These guys are being forced to do the right thing, or lose face.

Match cancelled as security forces make chilling find just four days after Paris terror attacks

An ambulance packed full of explosives has been discovered parked outside the German national stadium, it is being reported.

Security officials are said to have made the chilling discovery as Germany prepared to take on the Netherlands in an international friendly tonight.

The match has now been cancelled as terror chiefs assess the situation which comes just four days after the Paris terror attacks which left 129 dead on Friday.

It is thought the 'ambulance' was actually a truck disguised as an emergency vehicle.

Reports suggest it was found after authorities received "concrete information" about a bomb threat.

Pictures now emerging from the scene show a large vehicle being taken away on a low loader.

However it is not clear if the vehicle is the one suspected of being laden with explosives.

The match in the HDI Arena in Hannover was due to begin at 7.45pm GMT but a security alert saw the police step in at around 6pm to prevent it going ahead.

An immediate threat and terror warning was extended to all of Hannover and a road block was put in place as the evacuation took place.

Only a handful of spectators were reported to have been in the stadium at the time.

Reports emerged earlier in the evening that a suspect package, said to be a suitcase, was found at the stadium in Hannover.

Later police confirmed the game had been called off, and that an unidentified object had been found in the stadium.

It is then thought police made the discovery of the ambulance.

Local police told fans: "Please go home quickly without panic," according to local reports, 90 minutes before play started.

Catering staff were reportedly told to leave without their coats, and journalists were refused entry into the stadium.

Trains away from the stadium have been cancelled, with fans being told to move on foot.

Many top German officials, including Chancellor Angela Merkel, were scheduled to attend the match to show they will not bow to terrorism.

It is understood Ms Merkel was on her way to the stadium when she heard about the discovery and was taken immediately to a safe zone.

The Germany squad have also been taken to an unconfirmed location with a police escort.

Former Holland player Ruud Gullit wrote on Twitter: "I am now on the stadium of hannover for the game germany-holland.

"They just suspended the game and are going to inform us why."

Germany were playing France at the Stade de France on Friday when the stadium was targeted by terrorists as part of a series of coordinated attacks in Paris.

Reminds me of the quote from Victor Clube about how we needed the cold war to disguise celestial intentions. Could another reason for the Paris attacks and the attacks on the Russian airliner be to sow this idea of more planes being brought down by terrorists because they expect more planes to be brought down by comets and meteors?

One of the many entangled goals of this event seems to be renewed PR for the Wests 'War On Terror' - that is, Putin/Russia was making them look weak and ineffectual in the public eye.
As well as taking peoples fear of terrorism away by showing ISIS could be defeated.

This event and all the following 'strongly worded speeches/stories' coming out about renewed attacks on ISIS by the West seem designed to counter this.

I’ve been wondering along the same lines too, and recent coverage here in Brit land seems to back it up. Big push on US/French airstrikes and hooking that up to a 'weakening ISIS’, with no mention of Russia. What remains to be seen is whether the aim there is to 'claim the victory’ in a "mission accomplished" way, or, or also, to push the new attacks on towards ousting Assad, at which point they invite open conflict with Russia. Would they go that far?
