Thanks, weasel3d - I wouldn't say 'knuckle-dragging low brow' by any means ;) - but your explanation helps since I was thinking you seemed defensive as well - good to know you were just using figures of speech!

I'll try to be more considerate of that in future postings :)...seems to get in the way of the flow of information. :rolleyes:

Here's a shot taken of me by my friend, in a flurry of these things. No could not see them by the naked eye. Notice how some are translucent showing others through them. Way cool, I think.



Note: This is the first time I'm posting a photo here, so be patient. I have no idea how this is going to look (size, quality, whether redundant caption is included, or what...hmmm) :cool2:

Taken indoors without flash. I hope they show up on the net in this one as it's kind of dark. The bright object in upper right is not an orb, it's a lamp.

There is also the possibility of "dust" in the air, and
this "dust" could be "out of focus" and light diffusion
from the point of view of the camera?

I don't understand the orb issue. Usually I got this kind of "lights" when I use the flash by night. It illuminates some dust particles very close to the camera and it gives something like that. When there is a lot of humidity it works also. If there is no flash and no other light source (like a lamp) it could become to be strange indeed.

But keep in mind, there are light sources and does not
have to come from the camera (flash), and light refraction
"finds" it's way to the camera, but "blocked" or "diffused"
by particles along the way?

It's a possibility...

Yes it is indeed a possibility. So unless an experiment is conduced in controlled conditions (in a dark room) it is difficult to conclude
