The City of Austin and Austin Police Department are stepping in to help a local business that has become a target of a fake news conspiracy.
East Side Pies has been operating in Austin for nearly 11 years, but several weeks ago one of the owners realized they had somehow been tied to a fake news story out of Washington, D.C.
Co-owner Noah Polk tells KVUE the threats began to escalate on their East Side Pies’ Facebook page, and it intensified over the weekend when pod-caster Owen Shroyer from InfoWars.com made a YouTube post about the #pizzagate scandal and East Side Pies.
"I fully went there not expecting anything at all. Okay sure, the logo's weird, sure there's some weird stuff on the menu but what are the odds I'm going to run into anything weird at East Side Pies,” Shroyer starts off in the video.
He went on to say he was convinced that East Side Pies was involved with the debunked #pizzagate conspiracy because of their “weird music” and “weird employees,” among other things.
Then, on Tuesday, Polk realized one of their pizza delivery vans had been vandalized with a statement in reference to the #pizzagate theory that Hillary Clinton was involved in a child-sex ring at a Washington, D.C. pizza restaurant.
Polk called Austin Police detectives and made a report for both threats and criminal mischief.
APD tells KVUE that they are questioning a person in relation to the threats and criminal mischief but as of Wednesday night, that person has not been charged with the East Side Pies report.
APD did confirm that the person they are questioning is in custody for unrelated charges out of Pflugerville.
For now, the City of Austin is stepping in to help support East Side Pies. Communications Director Jason Stanford and a crisis-management expert are working with the owners to ensure they do not become further targets of a fake news story.

Not so random...I can't provide a link right now, (Found it while initially looking into this) but a couple of the videos on YouTube investigating pizzagate posted screen caps of Roberta's Instagram posts...CREEPY stuff, and as I recall, the connection was made through social media connections/likes etc.. I am pulling on some threads I haven't seen investigated yet at the moment and what a deep rabbit hole!!! I will post my findings here after I get it up on steemit. I think that maybe the "phone call" never happened, or it happened as a victim-creation-op, or something of the like...just my gut feeling.
Again, I am knee deep at the moment...will try to finish and get a report up in the next couple of days

Some deliberate, some just the result of regular lack of critical thinking. Take the "Kim Noble" artwork. It started simply as someone finding a resemblance between one of the CPP event posters (pic of a horizontal female repeated on the poster) and a painting of child abuse by MPD-sufferer/artist Noble (pic of a horizontal child being raped, with repetitions of the child's figure above, to represent dissociation). This got morphed into "Alefantis commissioned works from Noble to put up in CPP". (Hagopian included that claim in one of his recent articles, BTW.) But it's total nonsense. There's no connection between CPP and Noble other than that original similarity between the two art pieces (which was a pretty tenuous connection at that).
I even watched a video of two people relatively skeptical about pizzagate that repeated another bit of nonsense. One of the guys said it was confirmed that the Podestas were in Portugal when McCann disappeared, and that they rented Freud's house really close to where she disappeared. But the source for this was some random website article that said, "Our anonymous source in the FBI tells us the Podestas were in Portugal, rented Freud's home, etc." No evidence.

Now this is a very interesting story as it tends to implicate the Trump team of behaving in exactly the same way the Clinton team were: manufacturing 'fake news'. The litmus test is always how much truth there is to anything said.
What is especially interesting is the different responses on the part of the Trump team. It's like they can't get their stories right, so the truth ends up becoming lost behind a "he said, she said, perhaps, probably, well we're not really sure" type scenario.... Either way, it's going to make the Trump team look bad.
If it's true, then it points to an extreme lack of judgement on Flynn Junior's part. And if members of the Trump transition team can't get their stories straight, it points to factions within the team which may be working against each other and therefore, Trump. If there are people within the Trump team deliberately trying to sow discord, they need to be very careful how they do it. Because, if Donald Trump finds out, he might bring his catch phrase out to play.... "You're Fired!" And, I don't think he'll care what 'level of importance' or role these people have to play within the team. He gives the impression of not pussy footing around.
This could possibly mean that there are people within his own team, working against him.

Perhaps it accomplishes a whole lot more than just that? I have the impression that the more string pulling members of the 'Powers that Be' are using this to take down multiple different targets of various sizes. Not at all surprising really.

Another detail: It is now proven that John and his brother Toni Podesta were in Portugal on May 3rd, 2007, the day when the 4-year-old Madeleine McCann disappeared from a hotel in Praia Da Luz. The Podestas were present in this city at the same time. The police photo-robots of two suspicious persons are more than similar to the brothers.
According to the Comet Pizza website, this place has some hidden doors for separate, isolated rooms. In his other famous work, Theory of Moral Sentiments, Smith plainly states, “Pain besides, whether of mind or body, is a more pungent sensation than pleasure, and our sympathy with pain, though it falls greatly short of what is naturally felt by the sufferer, is generally a more lively and distinct perception than our sympathy with pleasure.”
Somewhere here are the roots of the infamous ‘all is allowed’ principle, widely used by (neo)liberals in their attempt to morally support the deranged policies, economics, and behavior they practice. We don’t believe all the members of the political and other elites in the West that are included in pedophilia darkness feel guilty conscience concerning their non-human acts.
Most of them believe that this is the way of power. They are such sick psychopaths that they can’t see how sick they are. And they try to make their way our common way.
America and the world are standing in front of something that goes beyond (geo)politics. We are faced with the very justification of our existence as human beings, able to maintain the world in a way that will prevent us from becoming a deep, dark shadow of the universe. Do we deserve all the beauty and love we are gifted here on Earth? Do we as humanity have the strength to overcome the evil which threatens the whole world with its nihilistic abyss, or will we all become victims of inverted values that question the very core of our human nature? It seems that the utmost goal of this evil is to minimize value, meaning, and the potential of life itself by constant destruction, by perverting the purpose of life, and by glorifying violent death. This can’t be named otherwise than demonism.
As it is clear that the political Western civilization as we know it is arriving at its final phase of total degeneration and downfall, we’d like to believe that there is still enough light in the West to rise and overcome the pathocratic darkness by which it is ruled. Yes, there is still enormous military and financial power controlled by the elites that can make big problems, but it is also a fact of life that a social/political entity based only upon physical/materialistic power is doomed to entropy and inescapable fall, which is only a matter of time.
It seems that this time is now. The latest political changes as a result of the November elections in the US as the main representative of the West give hope. The East supports this. It is still not completely clear whether this hope is justified or not, but there’s hope. However, if not now, then the next time. This is unavoidable. Now, when hell is being brought to the surface for even the blind to see, it will die by being exposed to the light.
For many people, it’s hard to believe that all of this, this most likely biggest and nastiest scandal in the history of the world, can be true, due to the omnipresent cognitive dissonance.
The controlled mainstream media doesn’t report on this at all. But other, smaller and independent media, do.

Somewhere here are the roots of the infamous ‘all is allowed’ principle, widely used by (neo)liberals in their attempt to morally support the deranged policies, economics, and behavior they practice. We don’t believe all the members of the political and other elites in the West that are included in pedophilia darkness feel guilty conscience concerning their non-human acts.
Most of them believe that this is the way of power. They are such sick psychopaths that they can’t see how sick they are. And they try to make their way our common way.
America and the world are standing in front of something that goes beyond (geo)politics. We are faced with the very justification of our existence as human beings, able to maintain the world in a way that will prevent us from becoming a deep, dark shadow of the universe. Do we deserve all the beauty and love we are gifted here on Earth? Do we as humanity have the strength to overcome the evil which threatens the whole world with its nihilistic abyss, or will we all become victims of inverted values that question the very core of our human nature? It seems that the utmost goal of this evil is to minimize value, meaning, and the potential of life itself by constant destruction, by perverting the purpose of life, and by glorifying violent death. This can’t be named otherwise than demonism.
As it is clear that the political Western civilization as we know it is arriving at its final phase of total degeneration and downfall, we’d like to believe that there is still enough light in the West to rise and overcome the pathocratic darkness by which it is ruled. Yes, there is still enormous military and financial power controlled by the elites that can make big problems, but it is also a fact of life that a social/political entity based only upon physical/materialistic power is doomed to entropy and inescapable fall, which is only a matter of time.
It seems that this time is now. The latest political changes as a result of the November elections in the US as the main representative of the West give hope. The East supports this. It is still not completely clear whether this hope is justified or not, but there’s hope. However, if not now, then the next time. This is unavoidable. Now, when hell is being brought to the surface for even the blind to see, it will die by being exposed to the light.
For many people, it’s hard to believe that all of this, this most likely biggest and nastiest scandal in the history of the world, can be true, due to the omnipresent cognitive dissonance.
The controlled mainstream media doesn’t report on this at all. But other, smaller and independent media, do.
And it’s true. Just hidden in plain sight. As many other crucial things are hidden.
For them, the blind, let us provide a simple proven fact: Each year, around 500,000 kids disappear in the world without a trace. Half a million. Some say more. Kids. Each and every year.
Where do they all go, the kids of our common destiny?

I had no idea what else I would discover while researching ICANN. Lo and behold, I come across an article on John Podesta and his global plan for the Internet and control of the American people…to be exact the people of the world. I find it extremely strange to find Podesta involved in this. Plus, you will be amazed at the power of John Podesta in this world…it is shocking and terrifying to say the least.
In one of her secret speeches, Hillary Clinton said, “My dream is a hemispheric common market, with open trade and open borders…” Before this comment was revealed, Adam Taylor of The Washington Post tried to assure everyone that the idea of a North American Union, like the meddlesome and bureaucratic European Union, was dead. Such talk, he said, emanated from “fringe websites” and “conspiracy theorists.”
The Hillary speech was made to a Brazilian bank known as Itaú BBA, which describes itself as “Latin America’s largest Corporate & Investment Bank” and part of the Itaú Unibanco group, “one of the world’s largest financial conglomerates.”
Interestingly, one of those deeply involved in this global agenda, as we noted at the time, was John Podesta, the chairman of the 2016 Hillary Clinton presidential campaign who previously served as counselor to Obama. Podesta’s emails are at the center of the WikiLeaks disclosures about the operations of the Clinton campaign, the Clinton Foundation and the Democratic Party.
Podesta, founder of the George Soros-funded Center for American Progress and a member of the elitist Trilateral Commission, went to work for Obama as a senior policy consultant on climate change. A liberal Catholic, he has been a professor at Georgetown Law School. One of the leaked emails shows Podesta saying that he applauds the work of Pope Francis on climate change and that “all my Jesuit friends say the Pope is the real deal.”
Podesta was picked by U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon to be a member of the “high-level panel” of “eminent persons” planning the future of the globe. This so-called “High Level Panel on the Post-2015 Development Agenda” released an 81-page report titled, “A New Global Partnership: Eradicate Poverty and Transform Economies through Sustainable Development.”
“In simplest terms,” explains Patrick Wood, author of Technocracy Rising: The Trojan Horse of Global Transformation, “Sustainable Development is a replacement economic system for capitalism and free enterprise. It is a system based on resource allocation and usage rather than on supply and demand and free economic market forces.”
In this context, Wood argues that the major significance of the transfer of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) is not the immediate need by the U.N. or some countries to censor websites, but to generate revenue for global purposes. ICANN will do this, he argues, through management of the so-called Internet of Things (IoT), the links between the Internet and networks, electronic devices and embedded technology with IP addresses. “IoT are the connections between inanimate objects and the humans that depend upon them,” he notes. To accomplish this, ICANN has devised a new IP numbering system called IPV6, described as the “vital expansion” of the Internet.
“In terms of ‘follow the money,’ IoT is expected to generate upwards of $3 trillion by 2025 and is growing at a rate of at least 30 percent per year,” Wood argues. “In other words, it is a huge market and money is flying everywhere. If the UN can figure out a way to tax this market, and they will, it will provide a windfall of income and perhaps enough to make it self-perpetuating.”
He adds, “Congress never understood this when they passively let Obama fail to renew our contract with ICANN. However, Obama and his globalist handlers understood it perfectly well, which makes the deception and treachery of it even worse.”
Under the cover of “sustainable development,” Wood predicts the Internet will be used to construct a massive database on human activities, in order to monitor and control nations’ and peoples’ access to resources. In the days since a conspiracy theorist showed up and fired an assault weapon inside Comet Ping Pong, supporters of the restaurant have turned out in droves to buy pizzas and leave homemade signs and flowers.

December 10, 2016 - More than 2,000 people said on Facebook that they're going to this weekend's "Stand With Comet" event to support the pizza place and other neighborhood restaurants targeted by fake news fanatics. John McKeel walked out of Comet Ping Pong Friday carrying "The Smoky," with mushrooms and bacon; and "The Jimmy," topped with meatballs. But McKeel wasn't just coming for the food.
"I had to come today" to support the restaurant, said McKeel, 39, of Alexandria, Virginia. The Facebook page urged people to support not only Comet Ping Pong but other nearby stores that have been subjected to harassing and threatening online comments and phone calls since the fake news stories began spreading.
"If they run out of dough today, that'd be a good thing," said Erick Sanchez, the event's organizer. So many came out Friday that people waited an hour and a half for a table and carry-out took 45 minutes. Other local restaurants spontaneously sent over wait staff to help. Others sent food for employees.
The restaurant also is getting support online, where a GoFundMe page set up to help it pay for legal expenses and extra security had passed $15,000, with a goal of $28,000. Interim District of Columbia Police Chief Peter Newsham visited Friday, with a message for fake news peddlers.
"It's not funny. It's serious. It can have very, very serious consequences," he said, adding that police are following up on the harassment and threats local businesses have received. The man police arrested Sunday at Comet Ping Pong, Edgar Maddison Welch, has a court hearing next week. Police have said the 28-year-old from Salisbury, N.C., fired shots from an AR-15 assault weapon after coming to "self-investigate" the conspiracy theory known as "pizzagate."
He surrendered peacefully "when he found no evidence that underage children were being harbored in the restaurant," police said. Joey Allen, the marketing and events manager for the District Restaurant Group, which owns the nearby Jake's American Grille, says its restaurant also was harassed with calls related to the conspiracy. At one point the calls were daily, Allen said.
At Comet Ping Pong, the staff seemed to be in a good mood Friday, said Carrie Gillispie, 34, visiting with her husband. She wasn't bothered by the lines for tables. "It makes me happy that the wait is so long," she said.
Her husband, Sean Gillispie, 34, said anyone who still thinks the restaurant is somehow connected to nefarious activities should come see for themselves that "this is just a normal business with normal people."
Plus, he said: "The pizza is really good."

Sometimes I wonder if places like Comet Ping Pong are set up deliberately so "obvious", in order to distract people or redirect them to look "there and not here". Not saying that nothing happens/happened there (quite the contrary in fact!), just that what is happening there might be one of those "obvious places" that have been set up all over the place, as some sort of cover or distraction.
I mean, would the real movers and shakers behind the scenes (those high up in the PTB chain) really do their dirty deeds through channels like "Comet Ping Pong", a "ordinary" pizza restaurant next door?
Or do they have the means and powers for another bigger network, that doesn't involve obvious and public places like that? Maybe when the real PTB feel the need to distract from their own dirty business, they activate "a scandal" somewhere else, much lower in the chain, so that they don't even get into suspicion?
Let's face it, Podesta, Killary and Co (not to mention Alefantis) are likely just "low level" puppets from a certain perspective. Or maybe I'm going to far with that and it is really just a sick game in plain sight.
