At this point the @UNICEF reports of exactly 800,000 is way too coincidental. Many of the reports aren’t even consistent with the area’s population. Nothing is adding up.

Remember the Tom Hanks photograph where he photographed a glove on the ground with the Russian (it think it was) search engine code that linked to child sex trafficking? The "hidden in plain sight" idea seems to suggest that the perpetrators of these abominable goings on unconsciously seek exposure. It may come as a shock to them when such exposure actually happens, but nevertheless it forces them to have to consider the very real possibility that a part of themselves -- maybe the last human schred of decency left in them -- has sought to emerge into public/private consciousness.

Yes the reality of a 'paedophile epidemic' is seeping through to the fabric of our society, there can be no shoving it under the rug now. It is Out there. Just recently a close relative remarked how practically everybody is talking about it and asking questions on how it can be stopped. There is outrage on Facebook and people are in a lynching mood. The anger is palpable.
There are home grown vigilantes in the UK finding and tracking known paedophiles and taking the law into their own hands. They get s*it done. The police are actually grateful that they are helping catch the scum.

There is a very interesting element to High Strangeness/STS control on this planet that suggests the 'price' of their freedom to lie, corrupt, destroy, own, farm, etc here is that they also have to accept the possibility of being openly exposed, and indeed every so often must put their heads around the curtain and in a very direct way cry 'peekaboo'! If only every so often. There has to be an occasional big hidden-in-plain-sight moment. It's one of the three rules of 'Maya' - that whilst having use of - or taking advantage of - the veil, they simultaneously have to accept being exposed for the frauds and monsters of delusion and deception they have chosen to be. Thus, there's no such thing as a free lunch in the universe. Like a glitch in the Matrix.

Take for example the Boomerang UFO that flew so low over Laura's swimming pool that she felt she could touch it. This happened within striking distance of her first making contact with the C's. This issue appears again and again in fairy stories and myth - that the serpent of perpetual disguise and deception is also forced to be the road way to illumination and revelation. I think the same kind of aspect plays out with their agents down here on earth - the psychopath and their close cohorts - that they cannot stop themselves from wanting to parade their evil in plain sight, to be caught, to be seen for what they are - dark and malevolent genius who have played us all - they hunger for this, its a deep drive inside that they can't control, and many have eventually only been outed because in the end they cannot stop this program playing out - 'come find me! look here I am - look how darned smart I've been and you never even noticed!!!?

That's an interpretation I would hold to as being very possible Ocean. There's been one code for us humans and another for those in the know for an age or more - and it used to be wrapped up in visual symbolism and complex language/code - but now they don't need to bother. They know how dumb they've bred the latest batch of sheep and they can be as overt as they like, even if its still 'code' - just it takes about 5 seconds to crack if you're in the know.

My interpretation would maybe pertain to the Subject who hasn't altogether submitted as yet to this rather "altered" state you're describing. What you say has me thinking about what it means to cross the threshold of no return. Whereas, for my interpretation to hold true, there still might be that part of the self seeking a kind of redemption. I see no such self present in what you're talking about... so, again, maybe it's that you're suggesting that a kind of threshold has been crossed. It's all a bit tricky and slippery though when you factor in the unconscious. It's almost as if the unconscious has become all conscious in this altered state you are describing. Even "exposure" (which most people fear) is just part of the job -- not a very pleasant part, maybe, but part of the necessary dues to be paid in exchange for "so much more," or so this person would have to think in order to make it all worthwhile. In any event, given it was Tom Hanks himself who exposed himself with that photograph (something perhaps you're also including in your version, although I'm not positively sure of that), but it's that aspect that I decided to analyze.

Let me back up a bit.

So, when I wrote what I did, I was considering a person like Tom Hanks being all caught up in this dark entanglement as an example of what might happen to a young wanna-be actor who comes to Hollywood, and who is maybe being considered for stardom. That person is going to be invited to the very best parties, with the very best drugs, and is going to be mingling with the most exciting "beautiful people" Hollywood has to offer. As a young person trying to succeed in a very competitive business, young Tom isn't going to want to step on any toes. Of course, partying with a bunch of Hollywood "beautiful people" isn't exactly a chore for most up and coming actors -- even if it is a bit intimidating at first -- and those in power know this. It's one of the many "carrots" they are employing. What gets tricky is when our young Tom is drawn into activities that maybe the old Tom would never have thought himself capable of, or in any way wanting to be a part of. These are thresholds too. The real problem here is that the fresh new talent of Hollywood are really just so young, and largely malleable. They are only just getting a sense of who they are in the world. They are naive, and unaware that their every move is being monitored; that they are, in very calculated fashion, being initiated into an underworld, or a "secret" world of no return.

But what does Tom GET in return? He gets one of the most envied movie careers in recent Hollywood history. And he identifies with that. He identifies with this "constructed" persona he's got going: the disarming, charming "every man" with whom the average movie goer can identify, and admire, and adore. In fact, he is the all American every man. And, I mean, how seductive a thing is that? For Tom it's also to be seduced by -- and even addicted to -- this "constructed" self. And in that there's such a radical split: this all American every man persona versus this "processed" soul who's been clandestinely initiated, even though it's true that so much of this secret world is operating in plain sight, or at least for those who know what to look for.

But, for our protagonist, Tom, which is the "real" world? And just where is he in all this? Where is the young man who first came to Hollywood to do the thing that he loved best: acting?

Actually, I really don't know much about Tom Hanks at all. I'm just imagining him as a typical young actor coming to Hollywood. But like many Hollywood successes, his family may have already been Hollywood elite, which would change the story I'm telling perhaps quite dramatically. But for the sake of our little story here, let's just say he was a young man who left an average American home to seek his fame and fortune in Hollywood. You see, it's that young man that I wonder about. I wonder if there might still be something salvageable there that can still be retrieved. But the "constructed" self would forbid it, since it would necessitate its own decomposition. That's why, if there still is something there to be retrieved, it would have to unconsciously (sneakily) participate in the constructed persona's own undoing. So, Tom -- always a creative sort who at some point decided to put that creativity into taking photographs -- seemingly unwittingly betrayed the Hollywood persona (which his more authentic self is so entrapped by) through leaving in one of his photographs a very dangerous clue of that secret life (a secret life which is also an entrapment) for ALL THE WORLD to see. And yet the Tom who identifies with the constructed persona is still terrified that he will be "found out." Even if, in the deepest, truest sense, it is his only way out.

So, that's how I was thinking of Tom Hanks and his shockingly self-sabotaging photograph. If, on the other hand, Hanks was born into the Hollywood elite, it might suggest that his "initiation" is inseparable from his upbringing. It would have most probably been going on in both subtle and possibly overt ways. Still, just like the rest of us (with the possible exception of true psychopaths or sociopaths), beneath the constructed selves we were forced to create in order to "fit in" either within our families, or in the larger world, or both, there is still the more authentic self that the process of healing works to slowly uncover. It still resides there as this redeemable part of ourselves.

But, @Michael B-C, your version -- suggestive as it is of Tom Hanks having crossed a threshold of no return -- might also be right. It seems it's to consider a completely dissociated being whose constructed persona is the foil for an utterly corrupted, soulless existence that is beyond redemption.

It could be it's just my writer's preference, but that seems too without dimension, too inhuman almost. That's not to say I'm right, however. Still, the world that you are describing almost seems a comic book world without psychological dimension. I suppose it's to be entirely broken and controlled. Or, it's to be a complete sociopath who has long ago lost any conscience -- or perhaps was born that way. Again, I don't know anything about Tom Hanks the private person, but it is difficult to see him that way.

Oh, one last thing I wanted to mention (I'll have to have another look at the second part of your comment some other time, @Michael B-C) but I wanted to say something about an early Tom Hanks movie, "Big." In the context of this thread, there's just so much that could be said about this Hanks movie, in particular. On its surface, it's rather funny and sweet in a lot of ways. Quite entertaining. But in a deeper sense, it's creepily disconcerting. And we've been seeing this theme come up again and again in the culture for years now: the one that contends that children really are adult, after all. Maybe even more adult than adults. In "Big," Tom Hanks, who is actually playing a child who has "wished" himself into adult form, is embarking on a "relationship" with an adult woman, who doesn't realize she is actually dating a prepubescent boy. Again, this really is kind of funny and seemingly harmless -- at first, at any rate -- only is it really? Isn't it in some way "confessing" the fantasy lives of just so many of the Hollywood elite that we're now hearing about? They would like to "normalize" adults having a sexual relationship with children, and how better to get that ball rolling than to, you know, play around with these themes a bit, as happens in the movie "Big":

Again, I don't know anything about Tom Hanks the private person, but it is difficult to see him that way.

Oh, one last thing I wanted to mention (I'll have to have another look at the second part of your comment some other time, @Michael B-C) but I wanted to say something about an early Tom Hanks movie, "Big." In the context of this thread, there's just so much that could be said about this Hanks movie, in particular. On its surface, it's rather funny and sweet in a lot of ways. Quite entertaining. But in a deeper sense, it's creepily disconcerting. And we've been seeing this theme come up again and again in the culture for years now: the one that contends that children really are adult, after all. Maybe even more adult than adults. In "Big," Tom Hanks, who is actually playing a child who has "wished" himself into adult form, is embarking on a "relationship" with an adult woman, who doesn't realize she is actually dating a prepubescent boy. Again, this really is kind of funny and seemingly harmless -- at first, at any rate -- only is it really? Isn't it in some way "confessing" the fantasy lives of just so many of the Hollywood elite that we're now hearing about? They would like to "normalize" adults having a sexual relationship with children, and how better to get that ball rolling than to, you know, play around with these themes a bit, as happens in the movie "Big":

Maya literally "illusion" or "magic", has multiple meanings in Indian philosophies depending on the context. In later Vedic texts and modern literature dedicated to Indian traditions, Māyā connotes a "magic show, an illusion where things appear to be present but are not what they seem". Māyā is also a spiritual concept connoting "that which exists, but is constantly changing and thus is spiritually unreal", and the "power or the principle that conceals the true character of spiritual reality"

In terms of Tom Hanks, from memory his contemporaries in college said that whilst at the outset he appeared to have a very limited talent, it always came with with a huge 'wanna-be' mentality. He also had a love for very low grade comedy and banal soaps as well as a belief that his childhood in the 1960s had been stolen from him not just by his parents (a very troubled home life - big clue) but by all the assassinations, riots, wars etc that were its perpetual backdrop. He wanted that period to feel like apple pie and picket fences but it was more like raw meat and stacked up bones! Hence much of his mission in life has been to remake history in the image of his own fantasy. His path to becoming the epitome of the establishment line / Hollywood gatekeeper is thus maybe worth looking into as an example of how the system looks for damaged delusionals who can be used to help keep people in this state of sleep and illusion.

Quite a while back I did read James DiEugenio's book 'The JFK Assassination' in which he goes into great detail as to how Hanks rose to such a position of power - and in particular his desire to whitewash the past and make it wholesome again. In particular he worked for a long time to try and get a massive documentary series made of Vincent Bugliosis's fraudulent Reclaiming History and in particular to prove beyond any shred of doubt that Lee Harvey Oswald killed Kennedy all by himself - and that all was therefore still good in his world. Thankfully this never happened but maybe that gives you an insight into why Hanks has been so useful to Hollywood and why he rose so far.
