Encontré que existen varias leyendas de ésta flor. Luego de la recopilación varios conceptos vienen a mi mente: Pobreza (material), humildad(riqueza espíritu), lágrimas(tristeza),regalo(alegría), luz, oscuridad, rojo(sangre),...

Los usos terapéuticos son tanto curativos o tóxicos:
Se emplea para controlar hemorragias vaginales, también como anticonceptivo, inflamaciones, para aumentar la leche materna, etc...

Jamás pensé en esta flor , no le dí importancia porque es algo tan común que lo naturalizamos y no cuestionamos. No encontré nada revelador, pero lo curioso es que los Cas la mencionan. Este es un hilo "antiguo" y no veo que haya más participación en el tema. De todas formas ahora tengo más información que antes sobre éste símbolo tan extendido.

Aquí en Uruguay la llaman "estrella federal" y en Argentina la llaman igual.( "Nuestra" flor nacional es el Ceibo, igual en Argentina).
