Police across the US prepare for civil unrest - what do they know that we don't?

Notice how those interviewed in this article talk almost exclusively about the civil unrest they expect in the event that Obama loses, and do not offer any reason why such unrest would occur if McCain were to lose. Yet, in view of the current polls, the likelihood that Obama will lose seems remote. So why all the "preparation"? What do they know that we don't?

Is there another "stolen election" in the works? Will McCain wind up "winning" despite his poor showings in the polls? And do the PTB realize that this time their election tampering will be just too blatantly obvious for the average American to ignore? Are they preparing to "enforce" a McCain win against public outcry? And what are these "internet rumours" that the article refers to?

Police prepare for civil unrest

Police departments in cities across the country are beefing up their ranks for Election Day, preparing for possible civil unrest and riots after the historic presidential contest.... Some worry that if Barack Obama loses and there is suspicion of foul play in the election, violence could ensue in cities with large black populations. Others based the need for enhanced patrols on past riots in urban areas (following professional sports events) and also on Internet rumors....

Makes you wonder.

Yet, the media (at least my local news) seems to be promoting Obama and criticizing McCain/Palin (and I am in Texas, a Republican state). I have been thinking that they are setting Obama up to win, yet at the same time we have police preparing for civil unrest in the event he does not win.

What a mess.

Is it really going to make a difference who wins the election? Both have the same agenda and both parties answer to the same corporations.

Not in terms of whether or not there will be real change in policies, etc. But, watching the drama unfold, perhaps we can watch for signs of "their" agenda? For example, based on the above, it appears that "someone" wants there to be civil unrest.

We can read in that article:
“If [Obama] is elected, like with sports championships, people may go out and riot,” said Bob Parks, an online columnist and black Republican candidate for state representative in Massachusetts. “If Barack Obama loses there will be another large group of people who will assume the election was stolen from him….. This will be an opportunity for people who want to commit mischief.”

I might be way out, but because Obama as the lead according to the poll and because Obama is black, either way, if we win or lost, the probability of riots is very high.

The economy may have something to do with civil unrest. People in my neck of the woods are pretty fed up with the current state of affairs and are speaking of a revolt. I don't think it's going to take very much to push people over the edge. Perhaps they are creating this tension from different angles, if one doesn't work perhaps plan "B" will.

Hmmm, Bush & Cheney? They can use the unrest
like Reagan did the Challenger disaster. We have
to shut down the "elections" until we can prove that
it will be safe to have them again.

Just like the large engraving at the train station in
Prague:

"Before the World can have democracy, it must be
made safe for democracy" by George Bush, Sr.

There has been increasing internet traffic concerning the possibility of martial law in the US as a government response to civil unrest. It seems more likely that the unfolding economic collapse will result in chaos and public backlash in the US, than a stolen election. Asia and Europe are meeting this weekend to discuss replacing the USD in trade. If this repudiation of the USD as the world's reserve and trading currency occurs, manufacturing and consumption supply chains will be disrupted into the US as letters of credit denominated in USD will not be accepted for payment for goods and services. I have heard this is already occurring. A repudiation will force the devaluation of the USD. Examine the history of overnight devaluations as occurred in Argentina in 2001 and Iceland a few weeks ago. Military and police force will become the tool of control and order as a frightened and angry public realize they too have been looted by the elite predators of the banking cartels.

Reuters said:
BEIJING (Reuters) - The United States has plundered global wealth by exploiting the dollar's dominance, and the world urgently needs other currencies to take its place, a leading Chinese state newspaper said on Friday.

The front-page commentary in the overseas edition of the People's Daily said that Asian and European countries should banish the U.S. dollar from their direct trade relations for a start, relying only on their own currencies.

A meeting between Asian and European leaders, starting on Friday in Beijing, presented the perfect opportunity to begin building a new international financial order, the newspaper said.

The People's Daily is the official newspaper of China's ruling Communist Party. The Chinese-language overseas edition is a small circulation offshoot of the main paper.

Its pronouncements do not necessarily directly voice leadership views. But the commentary, as well as recent comments, amount to a growing chorus of Chinese disdain for Washington's economic policies and global financial dominance in the wake of the credit crisis.

"The grim reality has led people, amidst the panic, to realize that the United States has used the U.S. dollar's hegemony to plunder the world's wealth," said the commentator, Shi Jianxun, a professor at Shanghai's Tongji University.

Shi, who has before been strident in his criticism of the U.S., said other countries had lost vast amounts of wealth because of the financial crisis, while Washington's sole concern had been protecting its own interests.

"The U.S. dollar is losing people's confidence. The world, acting democratically and lawfully through a global financial organization, urgently needs to change the international monetary system based on U.S. global economic leadership and U.S. dollar dominance," he wrote.

Shi suggested that all trade between Europe and Asia should be settled in euros, pounds, yen and yuan, though he did not explain how the Chinese currency could play such a role since it is not convertible on the capital account.

May we live in interesting times!
Yes, the wheel is spinning, and the future open.

So maybe police forces are being told that they're being prepared for unrest related to the election, but in fact it is unrest due to the economy that is "expected"....

What do you mean? What kind of "revolt" are they talking about? What form would such a "revolt" take?

I can not repeat word for word what was said as it does not contain language suitable for this forum. People are pissed and want justice for the bank failures. We all know how blind justice is to the wealthy. They're complaining about how useless the bailout has turned out to be. They're pissed about the election rigging scandals taking place. The local talk radio is even getting bold by talking about the New World Order of things and inciting more anger and fear. People are scared, you can see it in their faces when you talk to them about their jobs, their retirement funds.

Thanks Pinkerton;

"Sarkozy, whose country currently holds the rotating presidency of the European Union, is seeking to overhaul the Bretton Woods system that has governed international finance since the end of World War II."

That hits pretty close the throwing off the USD.

I wish I could stay tuned in for more just now, but I have to take off.
Have fun.

Okay, so people are angry, but they're not actually talking about "revolt"....
