Head of the Albanian intelligence service secretly in Belgrade?
News spread in Tirana that the head of the Albanian intelligence service, Vljora Hiseni, had come to Belgrade.
This information was first announced by the leader of the Albanian opposition, former president and prime minister Salji Berisha.
As Berisha claims, this visit at the height of tensions in the north of Kosovo and Metohija speaks of "the coordination of the forces of Rama and his boss against Kosovo, which is very interesting because of the serious political crisis in Belgrade".
According to him, this visit represents a serious blow to Albanian cooperation with the services of "friendly countries in the region".
After this visit, Berisha claims, he will no longer exchange sensitive information with the Albanian service, "knowing that Rama's confidant can send it to Belgrade", the Albanian service "Politika" announced.
Member of the Democratic Party, also a member of the Commission for National Security in the Parliament of Albania, Fljamur Noka sent an official letter to the President of Albania, Bajram Begai,
in which he asks for clarification regarding Hisena's visit to Belgrade, which, he claims, will last 10 days.
"Given that Albania is a member of NATO, the visit of the head of the service to a country that is not a member of NATO has caused great concern. This is because the service represents the main institution of national security. Also,
this visit increases the mystery and opens many questions, because it is happening at a very complicated and delicate moment for Kosovo, where Serbian President Vučić is provoking by disrupting the situation and peace and endangering stability in the region," the letter states.
As a member of the National Security Commission, he requested that Begaj inform him about the motives, reasons and purpose of this
mysterious visit.
"Were the superior institutions informed and was their approval obtained? Was it done with consultation and were our NATO partners informed about this visit? I request that the information be made available to me within 5 days," he says in Noka's request to President Begai.
Hisenieva was previously the deputy director of the so-called of the Kosovo Intelligence Agency (KIA) and in June 2021, she was dismissed from that position, by the decision of Vjosa Osmani and Aljbin Kurti.
However, the prime minister of Albania, Edi Rama, appointed her to head the Albanian intelligence service in April of this year.
Kako tvrdi Beriša, ova poseta u jeku tenzija na severu Kosova i Metohije govori o "koordinaciji snaga Rame i njegovog šefa protiv Kosova, što je veoma interesantno zbog ozbiljne političke krize u Beogradu".
