President Trump Fires FBI Director James Comey

I wonder what this is all about ... on the heels of Comey getting fired?

Mark Warner, vice chairman of the US Senate Intelligence Committee, has invited fired FBI Director James Comey to testify before the panel on Tuesday, according to media reports on Wednesday.

Comey, who was fired by President Donald Trump on Tuesday, received an invitation from both the vice chairman as well as Chairman Richard Burr, NBC News reported citing Warner's office.

On Tuesday, the FBI director was fired because, according to the administration of US President Donald Trump, he mishandled the probe into Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server during her term as Secretary of State. Trump fired Comey based on the recommendation of both Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

Trump scolded Comey in a letter announcing his dismissal, stating, "You are not able to effectively lead" the FBI. As such, a change in leadership was necessary to rebuild trust between the White House and the law enforcement agency.

A most interesting development. Ever since he pulled that stunt about Hillary... reopening the investigation and then letting it fizzle, I've had doubts about his fitness for the job. He should have arrested her.
Comey exceeded his authority earlier when he let Killary off the hook for illegally running her own private email system while serving as Secretary of State. That was the Attorney General's legal decision, not his call to make.

He later reopened the email investigation likely on the orders of deep state Wall Street banksters, once the severity of Killary's Parkinson's disease became evident in her collapse at the 9/11 memorial event. At that point the deep state had to switch horses to Trump because Killary obviously wasn't competent.

I don't think we can say that the 'deep state' switched horses to Trump. Trump has been fighting for his life against the 'deep state' since day 1. I think what's going on here is that, as Laura said, Comey has been indecisive, failing to pick a side. He half-heartedly went after Clinton and then didn't follow through, making enemies with the Democrat camp (for supposedly 'costing her the election' because of what he DID say) AND the Republican camp (for not firing her because of what they KNEW he had on her). So he fell stupidly between two stools there. More recently he has been involved in the "Trump ties to Russia" investigation, and probably doing the same thing, planning to come out with something that would damage Trump's reputation but fall short of giving enough to impeach him. Again, this would have provoked the ire of both 'sides'.

I think it was a smart move to get rid of this guy, and the timing isn't so "bizarre' as all the pundits have been saying. Trump gave him a few months of a chance since Jan. Since then he has shown his two-faced indecisive colors (again) and that was enough to decide to kick him out.

Anti-Trump Democrat dufuses believing that Trump fired Comey because Comey was "about to reveal all the dirt on Trump and Russia". Complete nonsense probably, but that's what most of the anti-Trumpers are feeding themselves on these days (and loving it). I'd say Trump fired Comey because he knows that Comey and Feds have NOTHING on him. Otherwise, it would be a very risky thing to do, fire Comey in that inconsiderate way and risk pissing him off to the extent that he reveals everything he knows.

Thanks Aragorn for the video:

Masterful way of recycling political scenarios.

This reminds me of the Oscar winning song in 1949.
