Putin Recognizes Donbass Republics, Sends Russian Military to 'Denazify' Ukraine

Putin laid out pretty clearly what the goals are in what they are doing right now. We should also remember that large portions of the Ukraine population are pro Russian. You also have to take into account that the russians probably worked closely with pro russian elements in the Ukraine for the last 8+ years for just such a scenario. Meaning that there are probably well-trained and able pro russian forces (miltary/politically etc.) in the Ukraine that can take over the leadership of the country after the russians have denazified ukraine.
Right on target. I am guessing they probably had no problems finding people in Ukraine to cooperate with them. No way guage this but I think this map of languages commonly spoken at home gets it close

Wall Street Counsels Washington Against Kicking Russia Off SWIFT

  • JPMorgan, Citigroup see possibility the move would backfire
  • Secondary sanctions on Russian banks seen as best alternative
Some of Wall Street’s largest banks told lawmakers and the Biden administration that kicking Russia off the SWIFT financial-messaging system would have far-reaching fallout that could hurt the global economy and undermine the purpose of the penalties, people familiar with the matter said.

Firms including JPMorgan Chase & Co. and Citigroup Inc. suggested Washington stick with other types of sanctions to punish Russia for invading Ukraine, the people said, asking not to be identified discussing private talks. Other banks with less international exposure were more receptive to the idea, telling officials that it would be a manageable step. Representatives from the banks declined to comment.

No big surprise here. The story nicely relates to Pierre's cartoons above.

From SAKER,

So, what does all that mean?

It means that we are coming to some kind of informational climax here. So far, in the West, that information is suppressed (even Sputnik and RT are under regular DDoS attack). I won’t even bother on the 500 foot high wave of disinformation produced by western PSYOPs in the social media. The bottom line is this, pretty soon I expect

  • The operational cauldron in the Donbass to lock in the Ukie forces which did not have time to evacuate
  • The entire coast from roughly Nikolaev to Mariupol will be liberated
  • Kiev will be if not physically surrounded, then at least “surrounded by fire”, which means that main axes of evacuation will come under steady Russian fire control
Notice something else. In the 2nd map, some cities in the Russian rear are circled in blue: Chernigov, Konotop, Sumy, Kharkov and Kherson. I would add Mariupol to that list. These are all cities which were cut of from the rest of the Ukie forces, but which still have pockets of resistance inside, that is especially true of Mariupol where a large Nazi contingent appears to be ready to take its last stand.

All this is to say that the mopping up operations inside bigger cities might take a while. That is normal and won’t affect any outcome.

I will conclude with something quite typical: remember how yesteryear tons of weapons were distributed in Kiev? Well, overnight, various gangs have been engaged in firefights, but not against Russians (who have still not entered the city), but against each other. Some of the wannabe Ukie Volkssturm even took a group of SBU officers prisoners. Some rumors report 60 dead or so just overnight.

Have a look at this comment,

1) Svoboda never gained 14%, peak during Maidan ~4%, after ~1.5%
2) Their voter knows how to distinguish between nazism and nationalism (to put it bluntly, it annoys me when the concepts of nazism, nationalism and fascism are confused).
3) Their voter does not believe in the genocide of anyone in the Donbas, does not believe in a civil war, for them these are Russian invaders, and hatred of the enemy with whom you are fighting is quite normal for people throughout history
therefore it is not necessary to demonize a simple voter

So what I'm reading here ain't true or partly false:

Svoboda is a Neo-Nazi Party, Ukraine’s fourth biggest party holding 36 seats out of 450 in parliament.

They’re also part of the Alliance of European National Movements along with the BNP and Jobbik.

Svoboda is supported directly by Washington
.

This is Svoboda and the “Right Sector”: the Neo-Nazi group which led the “protest movement” in Ukraine. These Neo-Nazis are armed gunmen.

The BBC headlines read: “We are putting our hopes in a new generation of politicians” amidst reports that an arrest warrant has been issued for the democratically elected president.

Speaker of the Parliament Oleksandr Turchynov who issued the arrest warrant directed against President Viktor Yanukovych stated “We must move towards a national government by Tuesday”. That government, were it to be formed, would be integrated by Svoboda.

@bjorn it's things like this that concern me. In my view you are exactly opposite of the anti-Russian views held in places like Poland. I feel like you don't understand what it means to say "let 5.4 million people die for their ideas".

I know this will receive some sort of reaction and I'm somehow wrong for saying this but to me this is what I think.

I didn't say ''Let 5.4 million people die for their ideas''. I said. Let them die for their ideas. With that I mean, the neo-nazi's militias now fighting. But I see how people can interpret it like that. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

I don't really know if this is the place on the forum to post this but as this topic also represents a part of hope, I would like to bring this beautiful news

Silvano Trotta, one of the first whistleblowers on covid in France, who started his regular videos almost two years ago, has become very well known in the public and in the "conspiracy" sphere. He has 150,000 subscribers on telegram and is the author of many videos with a fairly large number of views. Today he relays a lot of information about the Russia / Ukraine conflict in the same way as with Covid.

Today I went on his telegram and here is what he says : "1. Some essential books to read instead of watching TV." and take a look at the book he relayed first... it was a huge surprise for me to see this appear

From the Blinken's desk:

Today, as Ukraine fights with courage and pride against Russia’s brutal and unprovoked assault, I have authorized, pursuant to a delegation by the President, an unprecedented third Presidential Drawdown of up to $350 million for immediate support to Ukraine’s defense. This brings the total security assistance the United States has committed to Ukraine over the past year to more than $1 billion.

This package will include further lethal defensive assistance to help Ukraine address the armored, airborne, and other threats it is now facing. It is another clear signal that the United States stands with the people of Ukraine as they defend their sovereign, courageous, and proud nation.

Other NATO countries are sending weapons. The linked article provides the hardware numbers that are slated to be sent:

Several European countries announced on Sunday that they would supply Ukraine with weapons and ammunition. They include the Czech Republic, Portugal, Belgium, and the Netherlands, while Germany made a similar statement on Saturday.

This will be a test of Putin's threat towards anybody that tries to interfere in the operation. Do these weapons constitute interference in his eyes, I wonder? I don't think he was bluffing when he gave his warning. The weapons being sent are not quite 'Article 5' in action, in my view, because I haven't seen anything about NATO troops, navy or air support. This gives the NATO members the 'optics of R2P' for their shock-and-awed domestic populations. Maybe they think they can do so without facing Russian retaliation, in part because they are operating under the assumption of 'safety in numbers', in part because they haven't legislated army, navy, or air force aid (which somehow makes it less egregious?), and in part because of their wishful thinking that Russia won't respond for - some reason.

And from Zerohedge...

"With Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in full swing, the West is scrambling to respond. That Vladimir Putin, Russia’s president, can back his imperial ambitions with nuclear arms has taken a shooting war with NATO off the table."- The Economist, today.

So many lies in so few words.

- the West is not responding but doing as it's told otherwise the Biden tapes get released. Or the Macron tapes. Or the Johnson tapes. The list is endless.
- Vladimir Putin has zero imperial ambitions. He just wants to be left alone.
- It's not possible to back imperial ambitions with nuclear arms. Otherwise you merely become the conqueror of a pile of glowing green glass. Duh.
- It was the Cult working inside Ukraine who had the nuclear ambitions
- It was NATO that had the imperial ambitions.

- Lynn. Heard you can't sleep any more. Don't write shit like this in your rag again.

I would say that Svoboda won so many votes for one simple reason, the Russian protege Yanukovych became president. And so that he would not irrevocably enter the sphere of influence of Russia, thereby burying the desire in the EU, people began to massively vote for the most anti-Russian party at that time throughout Ukraine. As you can see, after the Maidan, when most parties became anti-Russian and Eurocentric, support for Svoboda fell.

In fact, I have nothing against civic nationalism, such as in the Chinese ideology of Sun Yat-sen (Three Principles of the People) and there was a similar discussion on the forum Capitalism and Socialism: The Good, The Bad and The Ugly
