Putin Recognizes Donbass Republics, Sends Russian Military to 'Denazify' Ukraine

This will be because articles one and two of the alliance treaty say that a member country has an obligation to settle disputes peacefully first.
This puts my country in an even worse position than I thought.
Therefore, now they can push us into war without risking NATO involvement.
This will be because NATO (read USA) has no interest in getting directly and openly involved in a war against Russian Federation, or any other country for the matter. As history shows, the United States use "articles" only against others and have themselves broken more or less any law they had signed. Maciak is driveling as usual.

You are, of course, right that this is how NATO or the US works.
What I mean here is a legal framework that can be interpreted at will.
My concern here is for my naive countrymen who are not worried that our country will enter the war because article five etc....

The basis here is still not naivety, but a conscious desire and willingness to divide others in the complete absence of awareness of the possibility of being divided by yourself and, as a result, a naive hope for the help of those who have already, at least once, deceived such expectations. History teaches nothing.

Peskov: agreements on the "grain deal" are actually terminated, it has been stopped. Russia will immediately return to the "grain deal" as soon as the agreements concerning it are implemented.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia revealed some important details on the suspended grain deal, the extending of which loses any sense amid the “outright sabotage”. The Foreign Ministry clarified that Russia’s objection to the extension of the deal means the rejection to fulfill conditions of the agreements that ensured the safety of grain export.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia revealed some important details on the suspended grain deal, the extending of which loses any sense amid the “outright sabotage”. The Foreign Ministry clarified that Russia’s objection to the extension of the deal means the rejection ti fulfill conditions of the agreements that ensured the safety of grain export.

The grain deal officially expires on July 18. Since tomorrow:
  • Russia will not provide any guarantees for the safety of navigation in the area of the corridor;
  • The maritime humanitarian corridor itself will be closed;
  • Russia will restore the temporary regime of dangerous navigation imposed in the northwestern waters of the Black Sea since the beginning of the special military operation in Ukraine;
  • The Joint Coordination Center in Istanbul will be closed;
Moscow claimed that if the West values the grain deal, it must first fulfill all the agreements, including withdrawing Russian fertilizers and food from sanctions etc.
“Only after receiving concrete results, and not promises and assurances, will Russia be ready to consider restoring the “deal”,” the Foreign Ministry said.
Criticizing the implementation of the grain deal, the Foreign Ministry pointed to the following reasons:
  • non-fulfillment of the terms of the memorandum,
  • “attacks against Russian civilian and military facilities” by Ukraine, including the undermining of the Tolyatti-Odessa ammonia pipeline etc,
  • the “commercial goals” of the export of Ukrainian food and its shipment mainly to countries with high income levels. LINK
The ministry concluded that the results of the deal are disappointing.

Earlier, the Kremlin said that the grain deal was suspended until Russia’s conditions are met.

I his turn, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan concluded that “the grain deal has gone down in history.” However, he believes that Russian President Vladimir Putin is interested in extending the grain deal and he intends to discuss this issue with his Russian counterpart during Putin’s visit to Turkey planned to take place in August.

Bridge attack aims to 'shift focus from failed counteroffensive and NATO summit' – Crimean State Council Chairman
While Russian authorities claim that Ukraine is in charge of the latest Crimean bridge attack, the region's State Council Chairman Vladimir Konstantinov argues that this attack was made to divert attention from Kiev's failures at the frontline and in domestic and international affairs.

The ministry emphasized that statements by representatives of the Kiev regime made after the attack confirmed the involvement of the Ukrainian political leadership and intelligence services in the act of terrorism
MOSCOW, July 17. /TASS/. Russia is expecting the international community to make an appropriate assessment of the terrorist attack on the Crimean Bridge, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

"The Russian Foreign Ministry strongly condemns the terrorist attack on the Crimean Bridge, which is a purely civilian facility. We expect that the international community and specialized multilateral structures will be principled and render a proper assessment of this latest crime perpetrated by the Ukrainian authorities," the Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Monday.

The ministry emphasized that statements by representatives of the Kiev regime made after the attack on the Crimean Bridge confirmed the involvement of the Ukrainian political leadership and intelligence services in the act of terrorism. "Even more cynical and monstrous was the reaction of a number of Ukrainian parliamentarians to the tragedy of the Kulik family. They began mocking simple human grief, thus allowing one to draw conclusions about the level of moral and psychological development of these political figures in Kiev," the Russian diplomats added.

The Foreign Ministry also stated that a criminal case has been opened over the terrorist attack, expressing confidence that the perpetrators of the attack on the Crimean Bridge "will be identified and will not escape justice." "If the Western origin of the surface drones that attacked the bridge is revealed, as well as the role of Western countries in planning, sponsoring and carrying out this operation, it will confirm their complicity in the Kiev regime's terrorist activities," the ministry said.

"Damage to the road surface of the Crimean Bridge as a result of the terrorist attack will be repaired as soon as possible. All attempts to disrupt transportation links to the peninsula and tear Crimea away from the rest of Russia are patently unworkable," the Russian Foreign Ministry concluded.

Drone attack on Crimean Bridge

Ukrainian forces used two surface drones to carry out a terrorist attack on the Crimean Bridge in the early morning hours of Monday, the National Antiterrorism Committee told TASS. The Russian Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case under the article "Act of Terrorism." The terrorist attack resulted in the deaths of two adults, a married couple from the Belgorod Region, and injuries to their minor child. As well, the bridge’s road surface was damaged.·Traffic on the bridge has been suspended since the morning. Train traffic has already resumed and a ferry crossing is now operating. Passenger cars will soon be able to transit to the mainland from Crimea via ferry, but trucks must take a northern overland detour through the new regions.

Days before the attack on the Crimean Bridge. And a wicked soul she is.

I believe it’s safe to say , and to name forces more adequately, that NATO is the armed force of Globalists, America is also merely a tool in their hands.Pretty much like in 40s

What do you mean by that:
"Maciak is driveling as usual."?

I mean: Beware of Pied Pipers.
Maciak uses catchy phrases that lure some, mostly young, people who don't know any better and are too lazy to educate themselves; and then he throws in a lot of nonsense. What is even worse, he also seems to like turning people against each other. And I don't care whether he is paid for doing it or he is as ignorant as those who just love to hang on his every word because it feels so good.

My concern here is for my naive countrymen who are not worried that our country will enter the war because article five etc....

The best you can probably do is making it your goal that you are not one of them.
I'm saying it with a heavy heart, but I'm afraid that your willfully naïve countrymen may have to pay a high price for their overdue lessons. Unfortunately, the rest of the society would suffer, too.

I'm wondering about that too when it comes to Maciak.
Thanks. I will listen to him more carefully.

Today we are talking about events that are the continuation of yesterday's decisions and events. This attack on Crimea was logical and expected in light of yesterday's defeat of the Crimean bridge.
The Russian army "planted" 28 UAVs in the east of Crimea this night

On the night of July 18, the air defense forces "planted" 28 enemy drones — some were shot down, some were suppressed by electronic warfare.

This was announced by the head of the republic Sergey Aksenov.
At night, 9 UAVs were shot down by air defense forces in the east of Crimea, another 19 were suppressed by electronic warfare. There are no casualties.

I thank our servicemen for their service! We worked out clearly and smoothly," he said.

The Kiev regime, apparently, tried to attack the Crimean Bridge again, this time from the air.

This attack is a consequence of yesterday's decision to terminate the grain deal. Ukrainians were going to continue to export grain from the Black Sea ports without looking back at Russia, now they probably have to load ships with shovels.
Powerful explosions in Odessa and Mykolaiv regions: "Geraniums" attacked Ukraine

On the night of July 18, powerful explosions thundered in the Odessa and Mykolaiv regions: "Geraniums" attacked Ukraine.

There is a strong fire in Ochakov, probably an oil depot or a fuel depot at a naval base is burning, where the British were in charge long before the start of their war.

Powerful explosions were also heard in the Chernomorka area of the Odessa region.

Sounds of explosions in Odessa — previously, the target in the port area was hit. According to preliminary information, there were arrivals near the port in the Odessa region. A massive strike by the Russian army against the military infrastructure of Ukrainian militants is being carried out in the region.

Poland and the Baltic states are preparing to send troops to Ukraine — French media (PHOTO)

Poland and the Baltic states are preparing to send troops to Ukraine, the French TV channel LCI reported.

The plot of one of the largest channels in France says that the Poles are allegedly waiting for the results of the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the offensive actions of the Russian Army. And if Russia starts winning the war, the Poles may introduce the first division this year, which will include the Poles themselves, the Balts, a certain number of Ukrainians and, possibly, other Europeans.

The French claim that Poland and the Baltic countries are seriously considering sending their troops to Ukraine. Anonymous sources of French experts in the Polish government report that Warsaw is now waiting for the final result of the "counteroffensive" and the retaliatory offensive of the Russian Armed Forces.

The French also report that for Poles the war in Ukraine is existential, they allegedly believe that if the Russians are not stopped in Ukraine, then tomorrow they will go to the Baltic States, Poland, Moldova and Georgia.

He counted a lot of something. We have a saying: fear has big eyes.
Cherevaty: 900 Russian tanks and 370 MLRS are moving in the direction of Kupyansk
The speaker of the Eastern Grouping of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Sergei Cherevaty, announced on the telethon about the large-scale accumulation of the forces of the Russian Federation in the area of Kupyansk and the Estuary. According to him, the group has more than 100,000 troops, 900 tanks and 370 multiple rocket launchers (MLRS).

"Now a very powerful group is concentrated in the Liman-Kupyansk direction. More than 100 thousand personnel, more than 900 tanks, and 370 MLRS," Cherevaty stressed during the telethon.

This information is confirmed in the words of the commander of the Ground Forces, Alexander Syrsky, who earlier noted that the Russian army is conducting a large-scale operation in the Kupyansk area.

The gathering of a significant group of troops may indicate preparations for a large-scale counteroffensive, especially since a few hours ago, the settlement of Novoselovskoye was successfully taken by Russian troops. Nevertheless, experts doubt that Russia has gathered such large forces in a narrow sector of the front.

Well, nothing should surprise us here either. Once a fundamental decision has been made, whether it will be an F-16, F-18, Fantom, Gripen or Eurofighter is not important at all. We need to prepare for the meeting.
Australia plans to transfer 41 F/A-18 Hornet fighter jets to Ukraine
F/A-18 combat aircraft may soon appear in the Ukrainian Air Force. Despite the absence of direct agreements at the moment between Ukraine and Australia, Western analysts report that the probability of such an event has increased significantly.

"Active negotiations are underway between Washington, Canberra and Kiev on the transfer of 41 F/A-18 Hornet combat aircraft to Ukraine. This opportunity appeared after the American authorities finally gave the go-ahead for the re-export of aircraft. If these negotiations lead to success, the Ukrainian Air Force will receive a significant reinforcement in the form of modern multi-purpose fighters," the source reports.

It is worth noting that the F/A-18 Hornet aircraft are actively operated by the US Navy and are among the most reliable and efficient in their class. However, unlike F-16 fighters, they can carry a much larger bomb load.

If 41 F-18 fighter jets are delivered to Ukraine, Kiev may receive 90 combat aircraft in total from the West, which is already a rather serious threat.

A fair bit of common sense made in this opinion article in the Guardian:

The author clearly has no idea what the real causes of the Ukraine conflict were or what NATO's real objectives seem to be (or at least is not voicing them here), still claiming that Putin's objective is to 'conquer Ukraine', but many of his points are definitely in the right direction. Maybe another sign that mainstream opinion is slowly shifting in regards to continuous fear mongering of war.

Britain’s defence secretary, Ben Wallace, resigned at the weekend. In a farewell interview he predicted, ostensibly based on intelligence, that Britain would be “at war by 2030”. Conflict would be on one of three fronts. If Vladimir Putin loses in Ukraine, says Wallace, “he’s still got an air force and a navy … [he’s] not done with us yet.”

The assumption here is of war between Russia and “us”. Next Wallace predicted “a total breakdown of politics in the Pacific” where “we are deeply vulnerable”. He nowhere identified this vulnerability or why it meant war, hot or cold. Finally there was to be “a shooting war in Africa, where al-Qaida and Isis threaten the future of nation states”. This in turn would “trigger us internationally coming to [their] aid”.

None of these scenarios is a plausible threat to national security. They emerge from some vague notion about “Britain’s role in the world” echoed by Boris Johnson down the mustier corridors of Whitehall. The country may indeed have commercial interests at risk overseas. But that is the result of its idiotic post-Brexit diplomacy and is hardly susceptible to military resolution. Britain’s shores are not remotely threatened by an invader. The only wars it has fought in the past 30 years – as against Serbia, Afghanistan, Iraq, Sierra Leone and Libya – have been wars of intervention, waged by Britain against sovereign governments overseas. They were hugely expensive and had nothing to do with national defence.

Clearly Ukraine is an evolving nightmare, but for Wallace to predict that within seven years it will have spread across continental Europe and produced a Russian threat to the British Isles leaves me wondering what the defence ministry takes in its tea. Nato has struggled – impressively, in my view – not to misinterpret Putin’s intentions in Ukraine and thus escalate the conflict. He wants to conquer Ukraine, not the west. Containing the conflict is an absolute necessity for all sides. But even if it were to spread further along Russia’s borders, it would still not threaten Britain’s national security. Rhetoric is a terrible substitute for strategy.

As for Wallace’s thesis that “global terrorism” poses an existential threat to Britain – as claimed by Tony Blair to justify his Afghanistan and Iraq wars – that surely is defunct. The idea that troops should return to police the politics of African states – as in Sierra Leone – only shows the neo-imperialism that still lurks beneath the skin of Brexit Britain. Can we imagine any other European politician talking in such terms?

Wallace in his interview was purporting to use privileged information to frighten the public into spending more on defence. If not, he says, we will have “soldiers armed with pitchforks”. But a prediction of war – not just a threat – is the ultimate fear-mongering. Like fear of a pandemic or climate disaster, its intention is to transpose a notional danger into the reality of home and hearth. It wants to jolt us into changing our behaviour.

What effect this has on public psychology remains uncertain. Virtually no media outlet nowadays contains any uplift or joy. If you compare today’s news items with those of say 50 years ago, when most news was just publicity, they are overwhelmingly miserable. Whether they make their consumers more fearful as a result, I cannot tell. Hearing Wallace, I imagine most people will just shrug and wonder which arms firm he is about to join.

Rather than spread alarm, the one contribution politicians should make is to advance intelligent debate. Britain already spends ludicrous sums defending itself against Wallace’s massed ranks of enemies on all sides. By exaggerating them he makes it near impossible to debate what real dangers Britain faces, and how best it can guard against them.

When it comes to Maciak, I listen to him often and I'm suspicious of him mostly because I'm generally suspicious of anyone. He was sometimes wrong, sometimes he made wrong assessments, wrong conclusions, but apart from that I couldn't find any bigger misinformation or manipulation from his side. What he's doing seems legitimate and honest, but of course who am I to judge it. He may have some personal goals I have no idea about, but from what I know for several years he was trying to speak in the name of people in his town, expose corrupt politicians there. In my opinion he's not trying to divide people, he's simply not willing to unite with those through whom he saw clearly and exposed them in his programme. Why would he want to unite and find a common goal with corrupt politicians/other public figures if he knows they are corrupt and just make huge money out of politics? There's really no one on polish political scene with whom someone honestly concerned about Poland and Polish nation should want to go into coalition or befriend or whatever.

And yes, I'm trying to just a little bit speak for Maciak. He indeed may have a personality that is not pleasant for everyone and sometimes he uses strong words, but for now I don't see any bigger red flags. Hm, maybe that's a red flag itself? 🤔

Btw, @Possibility of Being, are you maybe from Poland? I'm curious since you are familiar with Maciak. If you don't wanna answer, that's fine too 😃
