The interesting part of the coverage of this story, every collective West outlet admits that this was a political decision. It had nothing to do with the real requirements for accession into the EU, financial, economic, foreign policy, legal... and Orban is right to walk out of the room and say I got Hungary's 10 Billion, so go ahead, vote about Ukraine [into accession talks], I can't stop you. You are so obsessed, go ahead, hang yourself.
Orban could not have stopped them even if he had voted against it, they would have found away around Hungary, and they would have withheld the promised money. He knows this.

The rules of the EU are not followed when it suits them.
EU rules should have prevented the EU central bank from freezing funds to Greece and Cypress during the financial crisis, but they did it anyways.
So again they went ahead and broke their rules by starting accession to EU membership talks for two countries (Moldova and Ukraine) which are completely ineligible.
This how "rules based order" works which we hear so much repeated [by the Political class]
What this whole thing demonstrates and proves conclusively once and for all, is that the EU whatever it was set up to be all those years ago in 1960, at the time of the Treaty of Rome, TODAY it is purely a geopolitical project!
The fiction that it was some sort of economic association has disappeared completely.
It is a geopolitical project of the collective West, of the Atlanticists, of the neocons, and all of that but it is also to some extent it is a geopolitical project that has its own existence now, which is worried that there are people in the US who are becoming skeptical about the entire process, the way it is starting to conduct itself specifically over the issue of Ukraine.
We see this even more clearly with NATO because the NATO Secretary Stoltenberg, and people like this, are pushing relentlessly to get Ukraine deeper and deeper, closer and closer into NATO, and it turns out that there are people in the US who are actually angry about this, within the existing administration, saying "we do not agree to this at all" but the bureaucracy in NATO, and some of the European members of NATO, just like the EU bureaucracy, and remember the two bureaucracies are in the same city, they meet and talk with each other all the time, the two bureaucracies and some of the EU states, and some of the NATO states, are obsessed with this project in part because they want to lock it down in order to create problems for the Americans. [So Americans can't walk away from project Ukraine].
At the end of the day the Americans want to walk away, and deal directly with the Russians, and they will, and if they make a deal that gives no NATO membership for Ukraine, and no EU membership for Ukraine either, the Europeans has no choice, they have no way around that. The Europeans know this deep down, and because they fear this, that is why they have become so agitated and why they go to these extraordinary lengths to start accession talks with Ukraine now.
We are talking about money, there is this 50 Billion Euro fund for Ukraine that is being delayed until January and which was supposed to be signed off already. Eventually it will be passed, but clearly lots of EU states are not happy about this.
There was no agreement or consensus about using money from frozen Russian assets. (This is way beyond Hungary)
So this is a big push the EU Commission made but it seems that over the last couple of hours a lot of states said "this is extremely dangerous waters, we are not sure this is a good idea at all" so it is put off.
Congress yesterday approved legislation which prevents any president from withdrawing the US from NATO, without the approval by the Senate reported by The Hill. It is obviously about Trump, they are freaking out that Trump would come into office and he would pull the US out of NATO, then the whole thing, the whole bureaucracy just crumbles. They are obsessed with this combo of NATO and the EU, because they are globalists and that is how they wield their power.

Moldova, Ukraine, Georgia, Bosnia next?...
Who is going to pay for all of this?
...
Germany? The country that has basically bankrolled the whole EU?

If Ukraine were admitted into the EU, in its current form, it would break the EU.
The cost to carry this enormous country which is bankrupt, obliterated, smashed, it would far exceed the amount of the frozen Russian assets, and we are talking about trillions.
And it would not make any economic sense, ... without some kind of deal with Russia.
The point is that the EU leaders are not interested in these issues, this is not what they are about anymore.
It is not what Sholz and Habeck and Baerbock are concerned with, it is not what Ursula [Von Der Leyen] is concerned with, not what the [EU] Commission is concerned with, ... none of them think about these matters anymore.
They know that if the decision to admit Ukraine is ever going to be made, it won't be made by them.
It is a process that will take several years, so by the time that decision materializes, they will be gone!
They will be running something else, the UNHCR or something else. They will have moved on.
From their point of view this is a geopolitical project.
They are worried about what the Americans might be doing, they probably do sense that things on the battlefields are not going well anyway for the Ukraine, so they've set their store, they are going to make it as difficult as they can for the Americans, and especially for a future Trump administration, to do a possible deal with the Russians.
If somebody has to pick up the bill, that will be future generations of political leaders and of course the distressed and unhappy people of Europe, but since when did they care about them?

If we see Ukraine collapse, a possible alternative government for Ukraine might get set up, ... it might press on with accession talks.
If that new government is located in Lvov (Lviv), they can claim to control the rest of Ukraine, and that could be useful to a lot of people. Like for more money laundering and funneling money around.

The irony of it all is that through their expansion and this shift in the EU's mission statement from an economic union to a geopolitical project, --- the irony is this expansion and this shift that will cause its ultimate demise.
The more the world sees the EU as a geopolitical project, the more hostile to it, it becomes.
We see this repeatedly when EU officials and EU diplomats go around the world, and where once upon there was a lot of good will extended to them, now that good will is melting away.
People mock the EU leadership.
The EU is not seen as strong, but very weak.
