I do not know how the Chinese count there, but in any case, the numbers are terrifying
Ukraine's losses in the conflict with Russia can already reach 680,000 troops.

China estimated the total losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine over the past 11 months of the conflict at 680 thousand people. According to the publication "NetEase", today the losses of the Ukrainian army can be simply colossal and range from 500 to 680 thousand people. It is with this, according to the Chinese edition, that the next wave of mobilization in Ukraine is connected.

According to the publication "NetEase", we are talking about the so-called irretrievable losses, including the seriously wounded, who will not be able to take part in hostilities due to the severity of their injuries.

"As of January 18, the total losses of Ukrainian soldiers exceeded 500,000 people and may even reach 680,000 people, which is much higher than general estimates," NetEase reports.

Experts note that taking into account the fact that the ninth mobilization is already being carried out in Ukraine, the situation in Ukraine is really extremely difficult, however, according to the Chinese special services, the real losses of those killed in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine today amount to about 110 thousand people, however, in this case it remains unknown why Ukraine is experiencing serious shortage of military personnel.

Successful arrival of Iskander
The strike by the Russian Iskander on the positional area of the Ukrainian S-300 air defense systems was caught on video.

The Russian military destroyed an entire battery of Ukrainian S-300 air defense systems deployed on the territory of the Kharkiv region, approximately 15 kilometers from the border with the Luhansk People's Republic, with one blow of high-precision weapons. This is the first known fact of the deployment of S-300 complexes near the borders of Ukraine since the spring of 2022, as well as, in all likelihood, the first recorded case of the Iskander missile defense system working on the positions of air defense systems.

It is known that the Russian military discovered a positional area of Ukrainian air defense equipment, which covered a grouping of Ukrainian troops near the Svatovo – Kremennaya border, and among other things, provided protection for the Kharkiv region from attacks by unmanned aerial vehicles and cruise missile strikes. After the drone was successfully detected in the area of deployment of air defense systems, and the latter turned out to be in the area of the village of Lesnaya Wall, it was allegedly hit using the Iskander tactical missile system.

On the video footage, you can see that all four launchers were in the missile strike zone.

That's what we talked about yesterday. Russia issues "Chinese warnings", and "our Western partners" wanted to spit on it and do what they need
EU confiscates 33.8 billion euros from frozen Russian accounts for transfer to Ukraine
Ukraine will receive 33.8 billion from the EU. euros that will be confiscated from Russian
accounts.

The European Union intends to provide Ukraine with financial assistance in the amount of 33.8 billion. euros from the assets of the frozen accounts of the Bank of Russia to restore the infrastructure of this country. Finances are supposed to be confiscated in the near future, and, remarkably, the measure is considered temporary, which does not exclude the possibility that the EU is considering the possibility of confiscating more funds.

"The Legal Service of the European Union has stated that the EU has grounds to temporarily use at least 33.8 billion euros from the frozen assets of the Bank of Russia to restore Ukraine," Bloomberg reports.

The Russian side has not yet commented on the appearance of information about the confiscation of Russian frozen assets, however, this may lead to the fact that countries that are not EU member states may also take advantage of such a policy, which threatens to completely exhaust Russian funds previously stored in EU banks.

Earlier, the EU and the US have already provided for the possibility of transferring assets confiscated from Russia to Ukraine.

"We are at war against Russia, not against each other."
Official statement by the head of the German Foreign Ministry.

She is clearly an atlantic-bridge/WEF/US-Puppet nutcase and belongs into an asylum for the insane.

Let me say there is a huge number of germans who dont support this pseudo-government in any way and prefer close ties/good relations with Russia. Unluckily most germans are in media-trance and just repeat mass media opinions if you talk with them. Like Putin correctly stated, germany is occupied land and the political puppets obey to their US overlords.

I left germany a long time ago to not be forced to finance this self-desctructive BS and i am happy to have russian friends. Then we do have Russian and Ukraine customers/guests and we all get along well "here". But i surely can understand that russians are very dissapointed, to say the least.

So, it looks like we have another "last Chinese warning" from our side, which is likely to suffer the fate of all the previous ones - it will be safely ignored.
Moscow will regard Kiev's use of uranium-tipped projectiles as the use of nuclear weapons
The use of the APU by a projectile with uranium tips will be considered by Russia as the use of nuclear weapons.

Against the background of US and German deliveries of M1 Abrams and Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine, there was information that in order to increase the effectiveness of the use of these combat vehicles against Russian armored vehicles, "hundreds of shells" with uranium tips will also be transferred to Kiev. The latter provide high armor penetration and are almost guaranteed to hit any protected targets. Nevertheless, Moscow announced that they would consider the supply of such ammunition to Kiev as the use of "dirty" nuclear bombs, which allows the Russian side to use tactical nuclear weapons as a retaliatory measure, at least potentially, as evidenced by the Russian military doctrine.

More on Depleted Uranium
The International Coalition to Ban Uranium Weapons gives a review of who produces DU (Depleted Uranium Wiki). Supposedly, the US is expected to phase out the use of DU:
United States
The US played a leading role in the production of DU ammunition in the past. In December 2021, US Army Contracting Command has awarded General Dynamic a contract for demilitarization and disposal of depleted uranium. Completion date is set for the November 20, 2026. Disposal is planned for the depleted uranium armour, which was protecting several American tank models, as well as armour-piercing projectiles, used in munitions such as that fired by the A-10 GAU-8 Avenger 30mm gating gun. Earlier this year, US arms maker Northrop Grumman also confirmed that it is ceasing depleted uranium weapons production.
Military equipment to be phased out in the West tends these days to end up in Ukraine. Now that Abrams tanks are headed for UA, some Abrams model have DU armour:
In Pros and cons of booking Abrams depleted uranium tanks. They end;
When a tank is fired and uranium elements are damaged, microscopic radioactive dust can concentrate inside the car, inhalation of which adversely affects health. Hits, even without breaking through the armor, lead to scatter of dangerous elements near the tank and pollution of the area.

Also, the toxicity and parameters of radioactive damage from uranium armor significantly increase during a fire. The crew inhales dangerous products, which negatively affects the health of tankers.

Earlier in the US, independent physicians attempted to assess the effect of depleted uranium on tank crews that have been using armored vehicles with urano-ceramic protection for a long time.

Began to cheerfully, but then the research was unexpectedly folded. There was an opinion that the doctors were simply not allowed to modify it, so that the real state of things with the impact on health would not be the reason for refusing to use the technology. Because the technology is used and developed, despite many of its critics in the United States. And no biomedical research is officially conducted. At least in the public domain about them is not reported.
DU emits alpha particles, and alpha particles emitted from radioactive dust in the lungs can do harm to cells exposed in the lungs. In other words, good DNA self repair mechanisms are helpful.

Learn about the Effects of Alpha Radiation on Humans has this illustration:
220px-Alphadecay.jpg

Here are details from the EU that estimate the health damage from DU. It almost reads as if it was produced by the military, and I will return to this issue, but we read in their conclusion:
SCHER agrees with the conclusion of earlier expert reviews that environmental and human health risks due to a potential widespread distribution of DU are not expected. Exposure to DU is very limited compared to background exposures.

In combat zones, vehicles hit by DU should be made inaccessible to the general public and be properly disposed of. Used DU ammunition should also be collected and disposed of.
They also say:
All uranium isotopes are radioactive. DU is appreciably less radioactive – usually around 40 per cent less - than unprocessed uranium.
So pretty harmless, right. Well, let's take a look at a Material Safety Data Sheet for pure uranium, see for instance this page from Guidechem chemical B2B network provides information on china and global chemical market quotation and relative chemical Information.Guidechem Chemical Network providing the most complete information of the chemical industry. which has:

If someone came and told that a substance that was 40 % less radioactive than the above, but otherwise would be the same substance, was pretty harmless, would you believe it? It is odd that the EC can issue a statement about the safety of DU, without seemingly considering the MSDS for Uranium, but of course NATO could.

Depleted uranium munitions: history and consequences of use April 8 2021

The armies of the Alliance countries used depleted uranium munitions between the 1990s and 2000s.

Scientists suggest that this is the reason for the increase in the incidence of cancer among NATO military personnel and residents of regions where such ammunition was used to strike. Experts have repeatedly argued that depleted uranium is radioactive and therefore causes serious health problems.

The US Defense Department, in contrast, says that depleted uranium ammunition cannot have a significant impact on human health, citing information from the World Health Organization.

Let's try to understand stories and the consequences of the application.

Uranium has fourteen isotopes, of which three can be found in nature. The main characteristic of radioactive materials is the half-life, different isotopes of uranium have different characteristics of this kind.

A fine fraction of uranium can ignite in the air; under a sharp mechanical effect, uranium particles glow. In the first half of the 20th century, it was believed that uranium is rarely found in nature, but in fact this is not true. Soil up to 25 cm deep can contain up to a ton of uranium per square kilometer of the deposit area.

Depleted uranium is obtained in the process of making fuel for reactors and materials for nuclear weapons... Obtaining such fuel, natural uranium undergoes an enrichment process, for this the amount of the U-235 isotope is increased in it, with the help of which the process of nuclear fission takes place. After the enriched uranium is removed, a compound called depleted uranium remains, as it contains small amounts of the isotopes U-235 and U-234.

Since many countries have accumulated large amounts of depleted uranium as a result of enrichment, it is relatively inexpensive, and this is one of the reasons for its use in the production of ammunition.

Another reason for its use in the same USA in the production of ammunition is that the tungsten used in them is a fairly rare metal. The United States imported about 50% of tungsten from other countries, which created significant risks for the production of subcaliber shells in the event of a disruption in the supply of metal. Also, the price of tungsten is constantly growing. As a result of the studies of the properties of heavy metals, it was decided to use depleted uranium for the production of ammunition.

A great advantage of uranium for armor-piercing ammunition is its property of igniting upon impact and penetration of armor. Here there is such a feature: the stronger the physical properties, including electronegativity, differ between the core metals from uranium and armor protection, the more durable their connections are formed, as a result, a large amount of heat is created. Small fragments ignite, can lead to a fire in the stock of combustible military equipment and an explosion of ammunition.

Nowadays, depleted uranium armor-piercing ammunition is one of the main ammunition for tank and anti-tank guns in the American army.

Uranium also has such a property as the ability to self-sharpen, called ablative shearing, as a result of which the projectiles acquire a shape that facilitates the penetration of armor. The previously used tungsten in such conditions was significantly inferior to depleted uranium. Also, the price of depleted uranium cores is about three times less than tungsten cores.

During the NATO war against Yugoslavia, Tomahawk missiles were actively used, the warhead of which contained about three kilograms of uranium, which, when exploded, turned into a cloud of small particles, spreading several tens of meters from the explosion site.

During the Gulf War, the US Army also used such depleted uranium munitions. Up to a million shells of 30 mm caliber and almost fifteen thousand shells from tank guns were fired.

On the consequences of the use of such ammunition

Despite the US position and their assertions that the use of depleted uranium munitions does not cause significant harm to the human body, there is a harsh reality that does not fit with their optimistic conclusions.

For example, Serbia, which was subjected to bombing, is an example where the consequences of the use of such ammunition are now manifesting. There, hundreds of children are diagnosed with oncological diseases every year, out of 400 who fall ill every year, 60 people cannot be saved. Such a number of oncological diseases had never been observed in Serbia before the NATO bombing. A similar situation has developed in Iraq, where in the deserts were found the remains of radioactive ammunition dumped aviation during the period of hostilities. Iraqi children also began to suffer from hitherto unknown and rare diseases that are associated specifically with the American bombing.
With the danger of DU and the difficulty of distinguishing between a dirty nuke and DU, no wonder Russia announced the use of DU is one step too far.

Poland is appearing generous, on the surface. It is handing over 14 Leopard tanks to Ukraine and 60 other tanks, mostly PT-91 which are updated T-72 tanks.

According to the prime minister, Poland is trying “to lead by example,” showing its allies what should be done to help Kiev.

Right now, we are ready to send 60 of our modernized tanks, 30 of them PT-91. And on top of those tanks, 14 tanks, Leopard 2 tanks, from in our possession,” he said.

Morawiecki also noted that last year Warsaw provided about 250 of its modernized Soviet-era T-72 tanks to the Ukrainian military.
So Poland sent 250 of the PT-91 last year, which all likely ended up in smoke and now they clear out the rest to end as scrap metal in Ukraine along with their 'forebears'.

Yes, Polish generosity is more about making space for US Abrams tanks and getting rid of outdated tanks. Here is an article from Dec. 2022.

Poland intends to buy 116 Abrams tanks on top of an agreement the country signed in April to buy 250 of the systems for $4.75 billion.
That makes it 366 Abrams tanks. One wonders if those are meant to be put to use in annexing Western Ukraine as Poland has been actively looking to take back parts of Ukraine, which they feel belongs to them.

The article goes on:
The procurement will also allow Warsaw to replace its outdated Soviet-designed T-72 and PT-91 tanks with a new tracked vehicle platform.
The above just confirms that Poland is getting rid of outdated 'useless' tanks in order to get newer US tanks. This war does a lot to clear out old military junkyards in the EU and replacing it with US hardware. No wonder the US weapons industry is gloating about their profit line.

Those Abrams tanks to Poland will likely arrive much faster than the proposed 30 Abrams tanks which the US would send to Ukraine...sometime later.

This short section from an interview with Colonel MacGregor brings his line of thinking closer to that which I have read from other analysts (Mercouris, Brian Berletic etc.) The obvious course of action for Russia now is to concentrate on offensives in the East before anything else, bringing more equipment and manpower into use gradually. Large movements into new areas where there is less information about Ukraine's capabilities will likely be avoided. That does appear to be what is happening already. He does maintain though that at some point the issue of supply lines and the Polish border will have to be dealt with, and this will depend to a large extent on how focused the West is on Ukraine after the defeat of the existing forces. The new weapons supplies are not especially relevant except symbolically, but they cannot be allowed to continue indefinitely.

Another brilliant article from James H. Kunstler.
So, what was the Ukraine project? To use that sad-ass country as a vector to disable and destroy Russia. You can’t over-state the stupidity of that objective. And why did we want to do that? Because… reasons. Oh? And what were they? Well, Russia was… there. Oh? And what was it doing? Trying to take over the world? Uh, no. It was actually just trying to be a normal European nation again after its traumatic 75-year-long experiment with communism, which ended in 1991.

Here is something I find pretty interesting ever since the special military operation started:

I think all analysts, commentators and experts, no matter how good they are, continuously and repeatedly failed to make sound/good/true predictions on "what will happen next". It looks like nobody really can predict what the Russians will do exactly and where and when. I think that can partly be explained by the very fluid situation in Ukraine, but also by the military strategy the Russians employ, which seem to use strategies that are not set in stone at all, in large parts. I think a big part of the Russian strategy is based around the idea that reality changes always, so they have to continuously adapt to changing realities on the ground (and the greater reality surrounding it: aka; Russia against the global empire). Another part is certainly brilliant tactics and abilities from Putin himself and other important people down the line.

Therefore, I think any analyst should learn from that and be more cautious and thoughtful when it comes to predictions.

It wouldn't be the first time when avia.pro doesn't exactly tell the truth, to put it mildly. I cannot be sure of course, so FWIW:

Avia doesn't provide any link to their source so I looked up that «NetEase» thing and found that it's a Chinese Internet technology company providing online services focused on content, community, communications and commerce. Went to their website, including its Chinese version, and there seems to be nothing about politics and/or Ukraine. Checked their Twitter, nothing again. Looks to me like Avia's made it up. Even IF NetEase did publish it somewhere, they are by no means authorities in this particular area. So I'd wait and see if there is any other, unrelated source, giving similar estimates. And, again, check it out to see if it's not just an echo chamber.

In this time and world, when all sides use propaganda and lies (some more than others, nevertheless...), we need to be very cautious and picky when it comes to any 'revelations'.

Boom! Thank you!

This applies to all “analysis” in say finance and economics as well I’d say. They are all trying to predict the future. It’s all anticipation. And there are paid spinmeisters clouding the picture at every turn.

I am trying to cultivate my own sensory equipment to read the tea leaves. So far all I can muster is bouncing off these so-called analysts. How long has Michael Snyder of SHTF been on his pulpit? 10-20 years? Sure eventually he’ll be right but how useful has his analysis been aside from all the fear and mistiming of actions his predictions have generated? I know that’s perhaps harsh but if the shoe fits….

Thanks for pointing this out. Kind of like everyone thinking that that 'Winter Offensive' would kick off right away after the ground froze...

Besides what Putin and Russia have talked about in terms of the SMO objectives, maybe no one but a few people like Putin and his inner circle know the most important factors or objectives outside the SMO and hardening Russia to all the financial and trade moves made by the West. And maybe like you said it is very fluid with Putin/Russia reacting and adapting toward unknown main objectives in real time to what TPTB/Consortium are doing and indicating and what Russia might see as their main objectives outside of Ukraine.

It seems to be at this point that Russia, after the initial offensive start of the SMO, is content with just grinding Ukraine down and letting the West 'throw some punches' and make moves, which Russia 'counter punches', but both sides don't want to make really big moves that would escalate the conflict and not just in Ukraine. It is like the West/TPTB are content to let things grind as well.

Maybe it just grinds along until something else happens outside either side's control, like a cosmic or earth changes type event? Maybe, but it is a big unknown to the masses, that both sides are waiting for something to happen to then move forward...?

A small correction. The T-42 of such a tank was not mass-produced. The most famous and massive at the time of the end of the war is the T-34 medium tank.

Brian Berletic is the guy who has consistently ‘predicted’ what Russia will do next because he actually listened to what the objectives of Russia were from the beginning and looks at the facts on the ground and sees how the actions just match the objectives.
