Russia Begins Operations in Syria: End Game for the US Empire?

Four incidents with Russian planes have been registered today:

(1) Emergency landing of Russian plane en route from Vladivostok to Moscow due to reports of a bomb on board;

(2) Emergency landing of Russian plane en route from Novosibirsk to Moscow due to reports of a bomb on board;

(3) Emergency landing of Russian plane en route from Moscow to Zurich due to a failure of flaps sensor;

(4) Emergency landing of Russian plane en route from Moscow to Sofia due to a failure of TAWS system.

Someone is sending a signal that Russia is better not become too aligned with Syria and/or Turkey?

По поводу Сирии не скажу, а вот в Турции Эрдоган вместе со своими помощниками лучше всяких знаков говорит, что альянс может быть, в лучшем случае, ситуативным.

Putin and Erdogan are expected to meet in Moscow on Thursday to discuss the situation. Let's hope the Russian president will be able to talk some sense in him. Turkish troops have to stop all hostilities and leave Syria.

Silly attempt (OSIT), stinger missiles have a range up to around 5 Km (3 Miles). Russian fighters/bombers engage their ground-targets above that ceiling height. On top of that, flares and electronic-countermeasures render those anti-aircraft weapons almost useless. Something the Russian excels in.

The Syrian Arab army tried to shoot down an F-16 fighter of the Turkish air force using the s-200 Angara missile system in the North-West of the country.According to al Masdar News, Syrian army soldiers in Idlib targeted a Turkish F-16, which managed to avoid a collision with a missile and return to Turkish airspace.

Earlier on Tuesday, Syrians managed to shoot down two Turkish drones near the town of Saraqeb and East of the village of Khan al-Sabil after they violated the country's airspace. It was the seventh drone downed in the past two days.

Since March 1, Syria has closed the airspace over Idlib, warning that any aircraft will be regarded as "hostile" and shot down.

The situation in Idlib, Syria, worsened in February when terrorists from the Hayat Tahrir al-sham organization became active in the area. The militants started attacking the Syrian army with the support of the Turkish military. As a result, 36 people were killed and more than 30 people were injured. After that, Turkey launched operation Spring shield in the North-West of Syria against the Syrian military.

"On the third of March, during the response actions of the Syrian government troops against the terrorists of the Hayat Tahrir al-sham group* in the Eastern part of the Idlib de-escalation zone, irrefutable evidence of a failed provocation using chemical weapons was obtained," the report said.

According to the Russian Center, the militants violated the tightness of one of the containers and allowed the leakage of chemicals.

"The terrorists received severe chemical poisoning, and failed to carry out the explosion of ammunition and implement a provocation," - added the authors of the message.

The Center stressed that the military has all the data confirming the incident, they will be released in the near future.

The Russian military announced the departure of the Admiral Grigorovich and Admiral Makarov frigates for Syria, but three other warships have followed unannounced.

One is the Orsk, a landing ship capable of carrying 20 tanks, 50 trucks or 45 armored personnel carries and up to 400 troops. The others - the Novocherkassk and the Caesar Kunikov - are landing ships that can carry over 300 troops, tanks and armor.

Turkey has responded by beefing up its escort protocol for Russian warships using the Bosphorus. Three Turkish patrol boats and a helicopter escorted the Russian frigates - such ships are usually accompanied by a single coast guard vessel.

This is what matters most:

The document, signed after the negotiations, underlined that both Moscow and Ankara remained committed to maintaining the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Syria.

Time for Erdogan to lick his wounds, get out and take his loses. The 2 presidents spoke with each other for 6 HOURS straight! Putin is the voice of diplomacy and reason. Hopefully this will be the last we hear from Turkey. Idlib must be cleansed and rebuilt.

I'm not so sure about that. Erdogan is notoriously untrustworthy, often plays both sides and I'm not putting too much faith in this ceasefire, at least not in the long term. We were just watching a video of Bombard's Body Language when it came to the press conference with Putin earlier today and it was surprising to watch. Usually Putin is very much in charge and confident in these situations, but this is the first time she's seen him stressed and as she put it, without power in the room. As if Erdogan is holding all the cards and willing to burn the entire house down to get what he wants. Maybe it's an off day for Putin, but still, it's pretty alarming to say the least.
