BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:30 A.M.) – The final stage for the filming of ‘Sky’, movie about the Russian pilot, Oleg Peshkov, from the Russian city of Lipetsk, who died in Syria, has begun, the TASS News Agency reported on Thursday.
The film will be shown in 2021 in Russian cinemas, Anastasia Tretyakova, the spokeswoman for the Russian film company TriXMedia, told the TASS News Agency.
She said, “Our film team finished filming the movie in the homeland of the pilot, Lipetsk. Before that, filming took place at the Russian Hmeimim Air Base in Syria, Moscow and Crimea.”
She added that the film was shot with the support of the Russian Ministry of Defense and the actor, Igor Petrenko, performed the role of the military pilot. The film stars Ivan Batarev, Sergey Gobanov, Maria Mironova.
It is noteworthy to mention that the pilot,
Oleg Peshkov, was killed in Syria on November 24, 2015, after a Turkish fighter jet shot down his Su-24 jet in the airspace of Syria.
Russian President Vladimir Putin awarded him the title of Hero of Russia in recognition of the courage he showed in the performance of his military duty.
