I remember reading the series of articles about the Vegas shooting. What an awful event. I feel sorrow for those poor people in the crowd and to a lesser degree the general public. It's insane that regional media blackouts try to conceal this information.
I actually finished the all and everything series last week. I read B's tales a decade ago and about a month ago decided to read ISOTM, Herald Of The Coming Good, Views from the real world and All and Everything.
(Pierre) The little compassion and conscience people might have gets destroyed when this purely materialistic paradigm is imposed on them, this idea that the Universe is ultimately going to eat them. And then this giving or sharing to others and responsibility to the universe doesn't exist anymore. Doesn't matter.
This was not my take away. I was under the impression that Gurdjieff's father and first teacher instilled in him a great sense of responsibility to himself and to others.
(L) Just because he was using mediums didn't mean that he thought he was contacting really spiritual realms. He was supposedly just tapping the subconscious mind that he believed knew everything.
The information field
So basically, we already have kind of a system here that you have given that is quite different from what Gurdjieff proposed, which was that people had to GROW a soul.
I don't think it's so different. Gurdjieff said grow a soul. The C's say "souled beings" become souled when the soul is "seated." Does seating of the soul not happen through conscious efforts?
It looks like I should take a stab at the books Laura alludes to. I'd like to know ethe details as to why meetings with remarkable men is mostly made up. It seemed quite possible except perhaps that strange journey in the desert. Lol.
Living here now, when I read Gurdjieff's cosmology, my mind transposes it with the density structure the C's have taught us. The table of hydrogens, IMO was a poor description - although necessary at the time due to lack of scientific knowledge - of the substances like amino acids, hormones, proteins and the like. This thought came to me after reading The Mood Cure by Julia Ross.
There were times during ISOTM and All and Everything that I was sure Gurdjieff's was describing Organic Portals. Of course without The Wave and the C's this might not be apparent to the casual reader.
