Great show. Dr.Thornhill really got the light bulbs sparking about what really shapes this density. He has a great delivery, that helps ignite the imagination, to think beyond main stream, with diligent, and uncompromising research.

It was a very interesting and "enlightening" talk you presented, covering a wide range of subjects.
I was specially fascinated by simple analogy of gravity being "polarization", i.e. a (neutrino) chain.
Comments on Higgs and photons as an inferior way of communication would surely upset some people. :D

I really enjoyed the show and thought the interview team did an excellent job with the questions and dialog. I found Wallace Thornhill's thoughts about gravity interesting and his analogy to describe it was excellent.
 
That was an excellent show! Kudos to the Sott team for doing their homework and asking really good questions. Wallace Thornhill is an excellent speaker and really gets the basic concepts across very well. Keep op the great work! :)
 
Great show, I really liked the analogy of pulling on a chain and also creating a wave on/through the chain. The former being an instant pull on the other side whereas the wave has to travel through the chain to get to the other side (not instant)... just really made a lot of sense.

Indeed. At first I thought I wouldn't be able to understand it all, but when I heard him speak my worries vanished. Also, this show was good for my system 2, because I really had to concentrate. :) I will have to listen to this show again, because I am sure I missed all kinds of stuff.

I think I will order the book for my kids, it is a very important topic, OSIT, and very interesting for young people. Wallace was right in saying that this should be taught at high school level or even sooner.;)

Really nice show for all the reasons mentioned... It has me thinking about something a little more general though.

I have been poking around economics a bit lately (please don't judge me too harshly ;-p ), and I was lucky enough to stumble first upon the Austrian school of economics thus named for its origins. They are pretty critical of empirical economics one of the reasons being that empirical extrapolations don't tend to take into account "black swan" events, that is, events that happen so rarely that they are highly improbable. Austrians I think would assert that if your first principles are well posed, then they will be able to explain or at least integrate these events without a great deal of ad hoc transformation of the underlying theory. If we start boot-strapping our theory to fit unexpected turns of events, then maybe something is wrong with the theory.

To me, it is an example of a type of thinking where we attempt to think clearly about the consequences and implications of solid, well posed, well observed basic principles rather than seeking quantitative patterns in masses of data. It seemed this was the kind of thinking Thornhill uses. I don't want to create an empiricism vs. analysis-via-first-principles argument because it seems so much of the macro-trap of life is based on a divide and conquer strategy after polarizing 2 rather natural approaches to problem solving. I can't help but think that this type of reflection used by the Austrians and the electric universe advocates has fallen well out of vogue and deserves some serious consideration.
 
Listened to this earlier today. Wow, it was another really great show! I understand a few things about the Electric Universe Theory a bit better now. The brown dwarf being electrically captured by our sun was a really fascinating idea. Also, the almost instantaneous action of gravity was another. I'd like to listen to it again.

Some of the things the C's have said over the years seem to be confirmed by the Electric Universe Theory, too, such as gravity traveling faster than light (MUCH faster according to Thornhill). I have to listen to that part again.

It struck me instantly how Wallace's words matched what I remembered the C's were saying. Wow! Accompanying videos - artist representations - of the star veils and close encounters, planetary electrical interactions could be a hit with audio parts from this podcast.

I have to listen to this again - being a dense material and the last of the podcast.. I gobbled up everything from the Sott podcast downloads archive: 1.63GB. Since there was nothing to listen to, tried to continue with McCanney's radio show from 17th of October, but ended up deleting the whole McCanney folder and guess I will never look back.
