Strange condition - “pseudo-tumour”

My wife has been suffering this condition for a number of years.

It started with extreme pain behind the left eye, MRI showed an inflammatory (benign) tumour on the optic nerve.

It causes her extreme pain often, and today is particularly brutal because she can’t even get out of bed from the nausea, with me helping and a bucket kept handy.

We’ve tried a lot. 6 specialists, assorted doctors and scans and and and. It’s frustrating to say the least. We’ve even done the diet thing for years, cutting carbs and artificial food as much as possible.

Prednisone is the only thing that even touches the pain this generates. We’ve tried aromatherapy, essential oils, drugs, more drugs, diet...and not one#$&@%!doctor can tell us what’s wrong or what to do.

It’s entirely possible that a solution is not forthcoming, and we’re okay with that if we can manage these rough times. So I guess if nothing else I’m pleading for a little help from the universe...and any kind souls here who might have ideas (and even a prayer).

Thanks for listening folks.

I am sorry to hear about your wife's condition and challenges you are facing aaronfransen. I don't have any experience to give medical suggestion. I will keep her in my mind in the meditation and prayer. Hang on:hug2:

I'm sorry to hear about your wife's suffering. I'll certainly keep her in my prayers.

Is her diagnosis psuedotumor cerebri ?

I would find out if there's a neural therapist available locally in your country and give that a try. There's Neural Therapy in Europe, South America and North America and many other countries around the world. It was born from Russian and German research.

It could help deal with the pain because the eye is covered by neural networks of the optical and trigeminal nerve, all available for neural therapists to inject with procaine (novocaine) which is used not so much as a local anesthetic, but as a neuromodulatory agent that can repolarize chaotic conducting energies in neural networks, "re-setting the computer". It helps to regulate the autonomic nervous system, calming down a sympathetic overdrive response. In fact, it's called regulatory medicine. Procaine is anti-inflammatory, anti-cancerous and has also other amazing properties at diluted doses. I recently made a basic and advanced course and would highly recommend it as a main and complementary therapy. I'll post more info about it when I have time. I personally appreciate the way I learned it from the Institute of Neural Therapy in Sabadell (Barcelona, Spain) which other neural therapists from around the world call "esoteric neural therapy" because it is more holistic as opposed to say some Germans who are more anatomically technical in their practice.

Even if the pain doesn't completely disappear, at least she could see some relief as she is able to regulate chaotic energies better.

I’ll look into it! Thank you!

I can attest to its effectiveness, as "novocaine blocks" (as they are called in Russian) has been used extensively in Russian or post-Soviet countries for various reasons, and not only as a local anesthesia. Although I know it from the veterinary perspective, apparently they were and are still being used in human medicine as well. Many new doctors are very hesitant regarding using them in their practice, and see them as an archaic and dangerous method. And some blocks can indeed cause damage if not properly executed. But it has to do with the lack of proper experience/training or knowledge, than with a lack of effectiveness. Properly executed novocaine blocks can have extremely potent analgesic and antiinflammatory effects.

And good luck and a big hug to your wife. :hug2:Hopefully she will be able to find relief.

I'm wondering if AutoHemo-Therapy could be of help? It is something that can be done relatively easily at home as well. Also, if you haven't done so already, I would suggest that you seek out more opinions from different doctors in case you have had only on one or two sources that checked for what is going on. It could be that something was overlooked by a doctor that another can see. It is always a good idea to seek out several opinions first.
