Strange spiral light seen in north of Norway

I learned an interesting piece of info recently. A friend of ours, a german electronic engineer, who currently lives in Florida, phoned 2 days ago. He develops and sells gold detectors, including long range detectors. He said and I quote "they have changed the frequency of HAARP and now, all our long range detectors, all over the world, no longer work!" He said they tune the instruments to HAARP and now, they don't know the frequency. He said it changed only in the last 2-3 weeks. (Too bad he didn't know exactly when.)
My mind immediately went to the spiral lights and I wondered, does this frequency change have anything to do with the spiral light show? Our friend is going to be visiting us in our home this month, so I will definately be picking his brain! I can't say this has anything to do with it, but it was an interesting coincidence none the less and I thought I'd share it with you all.

That is an interesting video, but it does not appear to be the same phenomenon, imho. Here is another video of those same lights (about 30 seconds in), and from this angle they appear to be ordinary planes to me. But, too far away to tell for sure.

Thanks Daco, the Norwegian phenomenon (described as multiple type – no fixed patterns) is very interesting and is being studied by scientific bodies; noted the spectrum analysis – oxygen, nitrogen, silica and noted especially with interest was that of scandium.
Sulfur, iron ore deposits (mined by Vikings in the area) and copper were discussed as earth mineralogy theories.
Some of the photography was phenomenal; no pun intended.

Interesting... John Keel has noted a siting of an aerial phenomena of a meteor-like object with a lingering "corkscrew" tail in 1966 over the northeastern United States and the Canadian Border in his book Operation Trojan Horse. He says it was seen by millions and that photos appeared in Life, Newsweek, and many newspapers. He goes on to mention another historical reference to such a sighting. A brief excerpt:

Still, I don't see why corkscrew tails could not be produced by unusually shaped comets or meteors. If such a body is spiraling as it passes through the atmosphere and has a weird pit or protuberance, perhaps a corkscrew trail of dust could be left behind. The dynamics of something passing through air or fluid very quickly are pretty darn complicated and not well understood by science. And Laura's and other's research into the possibility that comet storms have shaped human history imply that falling bodies from space are vastly more common than has been commonly suspected... Another one for our busting-at-the-seams Fortean file...
