Yes, I think this is very good advice. It's regrettable that the change had to be made, but it was done for a very good reason -- for everyone who is benefiting from participating here, 25 (or fewer) more posts won't be too much of an obstacle. Look for opportunities to post where you may have not seen them before, and you will most likely hit 50 before you know it :)

No, this is not a punishment of any kind, just an increased security measure that applies to everyone, as Gawan notes. Since the function is generally discouraged, we anticipate that the temporary loss of this function shouldn't pose an inconvenience.

Of course I,l try to participate... and once I,l reach 50. But only if I knew english better... :(
As I could see, I didn,t notice anyone else (including newbies) who does not have PM option and that was strange to me.
But the safety of the Forum is the most important, so no more weeping.

I also wanted to thank you for warning us about this predator. It's also a good opportunity to participate more! :)

If it's not to dangerous to answer, do you all know who is connected to this person? Is he a part of Vinnie or Pepin's gang, or much worse?

Will the post-count change be permanent, or is it just temporary?
 
:shock: You'd think that these psychopaths would learn they stick out like a sore thumb on this forum! Well hopefully this all gets resolved soon. Thanks for the clarification.
 
It's a personal situation with a single member who is being stalked in personal life so there is no need to discuss it; it is being handled.

Thank you for the clarification, Laura; I am glad that you will go out of your way to protect the people here. I hope that said member will be okay, especially in his/her personal life.

You are already one post over half way there! Don't worry, there are lots of subjects in which you could participate in. Your opinions, thoughts and ideas are worth it.

I too was confused at first and then saw this thread.

Even though I am under 50 posts, I do understand and appreciate the reasoning behind it being hidden.

However, as I'm sure the moderators are already aware, there have been several members over the years with post counts in the hundreds that have turned out to be predators or in "the wrong bar". So all members need to be vigilant and consider more than just post count.

Another thread perhaps to consider moving to the hidden "Work" section is:

My thought is that it seems to be less related to "The Cassiopaean Experiment" and closer related to "The Work" as it may give some insight to each individual on areas to address. This also may potentially give a predator ego opening points for attack. OSIT


I mourn the temporary loss of "The Work" section and look forward to one day walking through the "50 Post" pearly gates.
