Search and rescue teams were combing McMinn County, Tennessee, after a tornado touched down there and injured up to 23 people, the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency said.

More than 30 commercial and residential structures were damaged, McMinn County Mayor John Gentry said Wednesday afternoon.

He urged the public to stay away from areas affected by the storm and said a Red Cross shelter had been set up at a local Methodist church.

There was some good news: In Athens, one of the hardest hit areas of the county, a healthy baby was delivered after a pregnant woman, thrown from her destroyed home, was taken to the hospital, Gentry added, holding back tears.

Both the baby and mother were doing well, he said.

There were no deaths in McCinn County, but a husband and wife died in nearby Polk County, where a post office was among the buildings significantly damaged, the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency said.

Eight Tennessee counties experienced severe weather overnight. Three other people were injured in Marion County, where structures had collapsed and trees and power lines were downed.

Meanwhile, Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley issued a state of emergency throughout the state after a tornado killed at least three people early Wednesday, authorities said.

The deaths were reported near Highway 71 in Rosalie, Jackson County. All three victims died in one home, Jackson County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Rocky Harnen told NBC News.

Ten others were also critically injured in Jackson and DeKalb counties in northeastern Alabama. The injuries ranged from minor to critical, Art Faulkner, director of Alabama Emergency Management Agency, said at a news conference.

"Just know that this is not the first time this area has faced these kind of tragedies and I am confident that the people up here will do as they have always done, and they will rise up and neighbors will help neighbors," Faulkner said.

Also in DeKalb County, a day care center was "completely destroyed," according to authorities.

Officials initially described it as a "24-hour day care" but later confirmed that it was not open when the storm hit. Its operators, who live in a nearby mobile home, sought shelter in the building. Three adults and three children from that family were later transported to the hospital, DeKalb County Emergency Management director Anthony Clifton said.

The three adults were listed in critical condition.

At least 25 homes and six poultry operations were destroyed across DeKalb County, Clifton added.

Chuck Phillips, Jackson County sheriff, said "numerous" homes in the county had been destroyed and many had been damaged, including two churches, and electricity lines and trees were downed throughout the area.

The storms continued into Wednesday afternoon. Atlanta Fire Rescue said there were reports of a tornado touchdown in Cobb County, including Atlanta, while another tornado was reported in Temple, Georgia.

The band of storms stretched from the coast of Louisiana, across Mississippi and Alabama and into Georgia. New Orleans was among the cities under a tornado watch Wednesday.

Between tornado watches and heavy rain, about 10 million people from Louisiana through western North Carolina were under severe weather risk.

At least three people were killed in Alabama after a tornado swept through parts of the US state, according to media reports.

Dozens of others were injured as a result of the tornado, which swept through Alabama’s Jackson County shortly after midnight Tuesday, CNN reported.

The tornado was part of a storm system that struck parts of the southeastern United States, leaving thousands of Alabama residents without electricity. Multiple tornadoes have touched down in the states of Louisiana and Mississippi this week.

The risk is still high for parts of the US southeast to be hit with severe thunderstorms following a day of destructive tornadoes in the area. According to Weather.com, today is likely the most active day for tornadoes in the country since August.

Currently there are confirmed reports of severe storms sweeping through Atlanta, knocking down trees and power lines. A tornado watch was issued from southeast Louisiana to northwest Georgia for most of Wednesday afternoon.

Three people were killed in the town of Rosalie, Alabama, when a suspected tornado hit their mobile home early on Wednesday, officials say. The storms that rampaged through Alabama overnight also wounded many others, including four children in a 24-hour daycare in DeKalb County, which saw some of the state's worst damage.

Raging weather brought hails, with hailstones as large as a baseball, producing flooding in areas that previously suffered from months of drought. Destructive winds damaged dozens of homes and farms, knocked down trees and electricity lines. A roof was reportedly blown off a motel in Guin, and Alabama Power Co. reported that about 3,500 customers were left without power.

In southern Tennessee, a likely tornado killed a husband and wife in their house in Polk County and injured at least nine others, Tennessee emergency Management agency reported.

In Mississippi, an apparent tornado trapped people inside a camp house in Noxubee County, after destroying four homes along Ebenezer Church Road. Multiple reports of tornado and golf ball-sized hail were issued in a number of southeastern states, according to the National Weather Service. The band of storms stretched from the coast of Louisiana, across Mississippi and Alabama and into Georgia.

Isn't it a bit unusual to have tornadoes in late Nov/early Dec?

Not really for Tenn and the SE. Last Dec we had one that passed just to my NW and did significant damage to a friend's place north of me. Average # of tornados in Tenn for Nov = 2.3. In Dec it drops to .3, but Miss remains at 3.5.

Particularly Dangerous Situation: Rare 'High Risk' For Strong, Long-Track Tornadoes in the South as Outbreak Continues (Maps - video)
https://weather.com/storms/tornado/news/severe-weather-forecast-south-high-risk-tornadoes-january-2017

Sunday Jan 22 2017 - Story Highlights

A tornado outbreak is expected in the South.

Strong, long-track tornadoes are possible, particularly in north Florida and south Georgia.

Damaging wind gusts and large hail are also expected.

Locally heavy rain will bring the risk of flooding, as well.

Dangerous severe storms are ongoing in the South and have prompted the issuance of a particularly dangerous situation (PDS) tornado watch for parts of south Georgia, north and central Florida, and central and southern South Carolina through this evening.

A rare "high risk" severe weather outlook has also been issued by NOAA's Storm Prediction Center (SPC) in parts of south Georgia and north Florida, where supercell thunderstorms could spawn strong and long-track tornadoes. Cities in this danger zone include Savannah in Georgia, along with Tampa and Jacksonville in Florida.

Outside that high risk area, damaging winds, very large hail and tornadoes may impact other parts of Georgia and Florida, along with the Carolinas.

2 tornadoes confirmed in San Antonio area, damaging at least 100 homes (Photos - Video)
http://abc13.com/weather/violent-storm-batters-san-antonio-damaging-100-homes/1763124/

SAN ANTONIO, TX (KTRK) --
A severe storm battered San Antonio overnight, leaving a trail of significant damage in its wake.

There are at least five known injuries, but all are said to be minor.

We're getting our first look at the incredible destruction here in the ABC13 newsroom.

The San Antonio Fire Department says more than 100 homes have been damaged in areas south of the city's airport, and just north of downtown.

In the Alamo Heights, at least 43 homes were damaged in a residential area. The storm then moved across Highway 281, bringing destruction to some commercial properties.

High winds toppled trees, ripping roofs off of homes, even leveling some of the dwellings.

Meantime, officials say a tornado may have moved through the area around 10:30 last night, but are awaiting confirmation by the National Weather Service.

Crews said a fire that started inside an area elementary school is storm related.

The American Red Cross is working to get up a shelter, and are attending to the needs of storm victims in the dark.

City officials said a significant number of homes are without power.

Five tornadoes reported as storms wreak havoc; 1 dies in crash
Houston Chronicle Updated 8:28 pm, Tuesday, February 14, 2017

_http://www.chron.com/news/houston-texas/houston/article/Houston-region-under-tornado-watch-until-1-p-m-10930882.php

The storm system that blew across the Houston region Tuesday morning dumped only an inch or two of rain, but it caused havoc as at least five tornadoes touched down and high winds caused damage to several suburban communities.

At least one tornado touched down shortly after 8 a.m. in Fort Bend County, according to the National Weather Service. The twister sent families scurrying into closets and bathrooms as winds of up to 135 mph tore off chunks of roofing and threw debris across yards.

About 8:30 a.m. a separate tornado struck Van Vleck in rural Matagorda County, the weather service reported. Winds of up to 100 mph flipped RVs, damaged homes and left at least six people with minor injuries in the town 60 miles southwest of downtown Houston.

Another tornado wreaked havoc 25 miles to the north in the city of Wharton. A towering tree fell into the front room of one home, narrowly missing the bedroom where 52-year-old Faye Green was. Her daughter, Myesha Byars, had to pull an air-conditioning unit out of the window to rescue her mother, who does not have full use of her left side because of a stroke.

At least a dozen other residences, along with the structures at a small storage-unit business, were damaged.

Local authorities responded to power outages, blocked roads and a gas leak, said Paula Favors, the city secretary.

In southwest Montgomery County, far from the funnel clouds, a Magnolia High School student was killed in a crash during the storms.

CenterPoint Energy reported 25,000 customers without power in the morning, mostly in Fort Bend and southwest Harris counties. As of 4:30 p.m., all but 2,000 had power restored

Houston's two main airports both were affected by the stormy weather. Bush Intercontinental Airport saw about 130 flights delayed, the regional airport system reported, while another 20 or so were delayed at Hobby Airport.

In Galveston County, fierce winds ripped limbs from trees, damaged a mobile home in Santa Fe and downed utility poles, said Garret Foskit, interim director of emergency management.

Witnesses reported strong winds and minor damage in Jamaica Beach. The wind bowled over power poles on the Bolivar Peninsula, cutting power to Port Bolivar and Crystal Beach, Foskit said. Crews were at work on the peninsula late Tuesday, he said.

Areas southwest of Houston bore the brunt of the storms. By Tuesday evening, the weather service had confirmed at least five tornadoes from 8 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. in Wharton, Van Vleck, Stafford, Sweeney and Bridlewood Estates, the Fort Bend County neighborhood where Dunford lives.

The Latest: Illinois man killed in storm identified (Photos 1 - 17)
https://www.mail.com/news/politics/5003252-latest-illinois-man-killed-storm-identified.html#.7518-stage-hero1-5

OTTAWA, Ill. (AP) — The Latest on severe weather affecting a large swath of the central U.S. (all times local): 11:50 a.m. Authorities have identified a central Illinois man who was killed by a deadly storm system that pummeled much of the Midwest.

March 01, 2017

The LaSalle County coroner's office said Wednesday that 76-year-old Wayne Tuntland, of Ottawa, was crushed by a falling tree. More than a dozen people in the area were injured. Fire Chief John Nevins says about 50 of 200 homes were damaged in Naplate, a small community next to Ottawa.

Gov. Bruce Rauner toured the region Wednesday and thanked first responders. The storms have been blamed for two other deaths, including one in southeastern Illinois and one in Missouri. The storm system has spawned several tornadoes and caused damage in more than half a dozen states as it moves eastward.

10:50 a.m.

Authorities say a deadly storm system that pounded the central U.S. is causing flooding in parts of northern West Virginia.

Lawrence Messina, spokesman for the Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, says the agency is monitoring conditions throughout the state with the help of county and municipal authorities.

He says some roads have been flooded and drains are backing up, and that some schools cancelled classes as a precaution.

Marshall County Emergency Management Agency Director Tom Hart told WTRF-TV in Wheeling that flooding was occurring on four creeks.

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch through Wednesday evening for the Northern Panhandle and a severe thunderstorm and flood watch for most of the state.

The spring-like storm system has been blamed for killing two people in Illinois and one in Missouri.

10:40 a.m.

Communities across Illinois are cleaning up from a deadly storm system that blew through the state and much of the Midwest.

At least three people died and authorities reported minor injuries. In Illinois, the storms damaged homes and businesses and toppled trees and powerlines.

In southwestern Illinois, many residents were still without power in Randolph County on Wednesday. Golf ball-sized hail was reported in Edwardsville.

In the central Illinois community of Washburn, several homes were damaged. Resident Nelda Bezille tells the Peoria Journal-Star that her garage collapsed on her car.

Two people were killed in Illinois, including one in the central Illinois city of Ottawa.

The National Weather Service has dispatched survey teams to assess the damage. Meteorologist Amy Seeley says the teams also will determine how long tornados were on the ground.

10:15 a.m.

March is coming in like a lion for most of Pennsylvania, with severe weather moving across the state and bringing everything from tornado warnings and hail to flash-flood watches and thunderstorms.

Tornado warnings have been issued for parts of Greene and Washington counties in western Pennsylvania. Flood warnings are in place for communities in Westmoreland, Washington, Greene and Fayette counties.

The National Weather Service in State College says the thunderstorms in southwestern Pennsylvania will shift eastward throughout Wednesday, with potentially damaging winds of 60 mph or greater in some places.

Record warmth is expected from Philadelphia to Allentown and some sections of the Poconos, followed by thunderstorms with hail in the afternoon and into the evening. Damaging winds are also in the forecast in those areas.

Isolated tornados are possible around the state.

9:40 a.m.

Forecasters say the spring-like storm system that killed at least three people in the Midwest may have spawned a tornado near a mall south of Nashville, Tennessee.

National Weather Service meteorologist Sam Herron said Wednesday that there have been numerous reports of scattered damage across the central part of the state.

He says there were reports of a possible tornado near the Cool Springs mall south of Nashville. The Nashville Emergency Operations Center tweeted that damage to power lines and trees indicates another possible tornado touched down in the city.

Clarksville Police Department spokesman Lt. Steve Warren told The Leaf-Chronicle that a tree fell on a home in central Tennessee, injuring a 12-year-old boy.

9:05 a.m.

Authorities say a tornado that killed a man near Perryville, Missouri, destroyed more than 100 homes in the area.

Missouri State Highway Patrol Cpl. Justin Wheatley said Wednesday that the man was killed when the tornado blew his vehicle off of Interstate 55 on Tuesday night. A second person in the vehicle wasn't harmed.

About 20 other people in the county suffered minor injuries.

Wheatley says emergency crews assessing damage have determined that nearly 110 homes have been left uninhabitable.

The storm was part of a spring-like system that also killed at least two other people in Illinois and damaged property in several states.

8:30 a.m.

The National Weather Service says survey teams will be moving across Illinois to catalog damage and determine the number of tornados that touched down in the state.

The twisters were spawned by a powerful storm system that moved through a large swath of the central U.S. on Tuesday and Wednesday. It has killed at least three people, including two in Illinois.

Meteorologist Amy Seeley says the teams on Wednesday also will determine how long tornados were on the ground.

Authorities say one person was killed Tuesday in the central Illinois city of Ottawa by a tornado spawned by a late-winter storm system. And in the Crossville area, authorities say a suspected tornado killed a 71-year-old man and injured his wife.

A tornado hit the LaSalle County Nursing Home in Ottawa, but no serious injuries were reported to residents. Gov. Bruce Rauner plans to survey the damage Wednesday morning.

Naplate Fire Chief John Nevins estimates about 50 homes were damaged in the village west of Ottawa.

8:25 a.m.

Severe thunderstorms that swept through Indiana overnight cut power to nearly 30,000 homes and businesses.

Duke Energy spokesman Lew Middleton says the storms toppled trees and limbs onto power lines and damaged large transmission towers.

Most of the outages are in southern Indiana. Middleton said crews are working Wednesday to restore power but that it's not going to be a quick fix.

The storms damaged 10 to 15 homes in southwestern Indiana's Posey County. The county's emergency management director, Larry Robb, says the town of Poseyville suffered extensive damage that apparently was caused by the same deadly tornado that struck adjacent White County, Illinois, and killed a man.

Robb says Interstate 64 near Poseyville was closed for two hours overnight because of fallen trees.

8:10 a.m.

An emergency management official says storms that swept through a northern Arkansas county damaged 40 homes and injured at least 10 people.

Arkansas Department of Emergency Management spokeswoman Melody Daniel says no deaths have been reported in Arkansas with Tuesday's storms, but some injuries and damage were reported statewide. Daniel says 10 to 15 people were taken to hospitals in White County, home to the hard-hit towns of Higginson and Kensett.

The extent of their injuries wasn't clear early Wednesday.

Daniel says damage was reported to employees' mobile homes at a state prison facility in Jackson County, and "a few minor injuries" were reported there as well.

Elsewhere, damage was reported at the courthouse and county jail in the Ozarks Mountains town of Marshall, about 80 miles north of Little Rock.

8:05 a.m.

Forecasters say about 95 million people are in the path of a storm system that caused substantial damage overnight in the central U.S.

The storm system that pummeled parts of Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois and Indiana is now heading to the east. The Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Oklahoma, says an area stretching from the Appalachians to the mid-Atlantic could see bad weather Wednesday, including powerful winds, tornadoes and large hailstones.

Tornado warnings were issued Wednesday morning in Nashville, which was at a moderate risk for severe weather.

Other areas that could see storms include New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Atlanta and Washington, D.C.

7:30 a.m.

Authorities say a second person in Illinois was killed by the severe storm system that swept through the Midwest and spawned tornados.

White County Coroner Chris Marsh said Wednesday that the system moving through the central U.S. Tuesday and Wednesday spawned a twister that struck a small building near a house in the Crossville area, which is in southeastern Illinois near the border with Indiana. It killed a 71-year-old man and injured his wife.

The system has been blamed for killing at least two other people, including one who was struck by an uprooted tree in the central Illinois community of Ottawa and another who was killed by an apparent tornado that tore through Perry County, Missouri, about 80 miles south of St. Louis.

The storms also battered parts of Indiana as they moved eastward into Ohio and states to the south.

7:20 a.m.

The National Weather Service is sending crews to evaluate the damage from a powerful storm system that spawned deadly tornadoes in the nation's midsection.

Meteorologist Kevin Smith in Paducah, Kentucky, says the crews will determine the width, path and intensity of the tornadoes that hit Tuesday in Missouri, Illinois and elsewhere.

One of the most damaging tornadoes hit near a rural area of southeast Missouri. Perry County Clerk Jared Kutz says one person was killed and eight to 10 homes near the town of Perryville were badly damaged. Several cars and trucks were blown off of Interstate 55.

In Illinois, an uprooted tree killed a tornado victim in the town of Ottawa. State Emergency Management Agency spokeswoman Patti Thompson says minor injuries were also reported at an Ottawa nursing home.

7 a.m.

Officials say thousands of residents around Ohio awoke to power outages, damaged homes or downed trees after thunderstorms battering the Midwest brought heavy rain, high winds and even quarter-size hail to some parts of the Buckeye State.

Numerous schools delayed the start of classes Wednesday as continuing storms and gusty winds slowed morning commutes. High water or flooding concerns were reported on various roadways from southwestern Ohio all the way north toward Cleveland.

WBNS-TV reports a suspected tornado in southern Ohio's Highland County was blamed for damaging several homes near Leesburg. No serious injuries were reported there.

Some parts of the state were slated to remain under tornado watches or flooding advisories into late morning.

5:20 a.m.

Severe thunderstorms packing rain, hail and high winds caused damage in parts of Indiana.

The National Weather Service issued tornado warnings for areas including LaGrange County in northern Indiana on Tuesday night as the storms moved through the Midwest. Other portions of northern Indiana were under severe thunderstorm warnings that expired early Wednesday.

WANE-TV reports power lines were knocked down in the Fort Wayne area and part of a roof was torn off a convenience store in Fort Wayne. No serious injuries were immediately reported.

In southwestern Indiana, WXIN-TV reports storm damage in Posey and Gibson counties that included damaged homes as well as downed trees and power lines. Utilities reported several thousand customers were without power in Posey, Jackson and some other counties.

NOT a Tornado but a Cyclone.

THE eye of Cyclone Debbie is hitting the Whitsunday Islands off the north Queensland coast, as the mainland towns of Proserpine and Airlie Beach take a battering.

Queensland cyclone: Latest news, tracking for Cyclone Debbie (Photos - Videos)
http://www.couriermail.com.au/news/queensland/queensland-cyclone-latest-news-tracking-for-cyclone-debbie/news-story/7ac98f931bb86cca63f4d82b626bf316

THE eye of Cyclone Debbie is hitting the Whitsunday Islands off the north Queensland coast, as the mainland towns of Proserpine and Airlie Beach take a battering.

Debbie remains a category four – the worst cyclone to hit Queensland in six years – and is packing sustained winds near the centre of 175km/h, and gusts of up to 250km/h.

Deputy Police Commissioner Stephan Gollschewski says roofs are lifting in the Whitsundays region and there are reports police facilities there have been damaged.

“We’re getting some reports already of roofs starting to lift, including at some of our own facilities in the Whitsundays,” he told ABC television.

Debbie’s eye began to hit the Whitsunday Islands about 7am. It’s expected to make landfall on the mainland about midday (AEST) as a severe category four storm packing wind gusts of up to 260km, just south of the town of Bowen.

One of the islands, Hamilton, has already recorded gusts of 190km/h.

Those taking shelter on the island say the wind is so strong brick buildings are vibrating, and the wind sounds like a series of freight trains charging through.

Recent significant observations include:

- 194mm of rainfall at Strathdickie (near Proserpine) in the one hour to 7.45am.

- Wind gusts of nearly 200km/h at Hamilton Island airport at 6.52am.

- Wind gusts: Hamilton Island 222 km/h; Bowen 91 km/h; Mackay 96 km/h; Proserpine 117 km/h; Yeppoon 61 km/h.

The warning zone now extends from Lucinda to St Lawrence, including Townsville, Mackay, and the Whitsunday Islands, extending inland to Charters Towers, Mount Coolon, Moranbah, and Pentland. (Article continues.)

At least one person died when a large tornado left major damage in the Texas town of Canton, east of Dallas, Saturday evening, according to emergency officials.

The twister tore through parts of the town at about 6 p.m. CDT, and the National Weather Service issued a Particularly Dangerous Situation tornado warning to alert residents. Minutes after the tornado moved away from the town, the NWS reported major damage. A car dealership was demolished, and vehicles were flung into the air and landed on an adjacent highway.

According to KLTV.com, the Ben Wheeler Volunteer Fire Department confirmed a body was found in a field in Canton as residents began to clean up the damage. At least 49 people were injured, WFAA.com reported.

Canton is a town of about 3,500 located some 50 miles east of Dallas. The town is home to the First Monday Trade Days Market, where thousands of people were camping out this weekend and on the final weekend of every month.

A second twister was in progress near Canton a few minutes later. That tornado tracked northeast, into the town of Emory, where emergency managers reported damage. The extent of that damage wasn't immediately known.

Another tornado was reported in the Caney City area just minutes earlier, and an unknown number of people were injured, according to an NWS report.

Violent thunderstorms are expected to pass from the Midwest to wreak havoc from Savannah, Georgia to Buffalo, New York. The storm system has already claimed 15 lives across the United States, but the danger has not fully passed.

"When we get afternoon heating, thunderstorms will strengthen," said AccuWeather meteorologist Jake Sojda to USA Today. "Today it will primarily be damaging winds. There is the potential for isolated tornadoes, particularly across the Carolinas and into Georgia."

The National Weather Service's Storm Prediction Center (SPC) says that the cities at the greatest risks for severe storms are Buffalo, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Washington DC, and Greensboro.

The storm has already had its way with the heartland, having done the worst damage in Arkansas, Missouri, Mississippi, Tennessee and Texas. Tornadoes, flooding, and strong winds did severe damage in some places, leading to fifteen deaths across those five states.

"The damage was extensive in affected areas," said Lou Ann Everett, the mayor of the city of Canton in East Texas. "I have just driven through some of it, and it is heartbreaking." Tornadoes brought on by the storm destroyed homes and downed power lines and trees, leaving thousands without electricity.

Meanwhile in the Rocky Mountains and the Great Plains, what is likely to be the last great snow of the season came in with a vengeance, with as many as 39 inches of snowfall recorded in parts of Colorado. Interstate-70, connecting Kansas and Colorado, was closed on Sunday and remained so for almost 24 hours.

Water levels are expected to rise in riverside communities in the central US, presenting a further threat to lives and property, according to AccuWeather.

Fortunately, this should be the storm's last hoorah, as the cold front that caused the storm will roll out to sea on Tuesday.

Two people died and dozens were injured when tornadoes flattened a mobile home park in Wisconsin and a housing subdivision in Oklahoma during powerful spring storms that battered an area from the South Plains of Texas to the Great Lakes.

The storms hit late in the afternoon Tuesday and into the evening, leveling the Prairie Lake Estate Mobile Park near Chetek, Wisconsin, about 110 miles northeast of Minneapolis. When first responders arrived at the scene, they could hear the people crying for help in the rubble, Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald told KMSP-TV.

One person died at the mobile home park, the Wisconsin Emergency Operations Center said in a statement late Tuesday. No details of the fatality were given. More than 25 people were injured, the state said, without giving their conditions. Helicopter video from WCCO-TV and KARE-TV shows extensive damage at the trailer park, with several homes reduced to rubble.

In Oklahoma, another tornado damaged much of a subdivision on the southern fringe of Elk City, Oklahoma, about 110 miles west of Oklahoma City. Fire Chaplain Danny Ringer told reporters at the scene late Tuesday that one person was known dead from the twister, although details were lacking. He also said the storm destroyed 40 homes and damaged 50 to 75 others severely. It was not immediately known if there were injuries.

More than two dozen tornado sightings were reported to the National Weather Service Tuesday night across the five states of Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska and Wisconsin. The storm also brought numerous reports of large hail and strong winds.
