V for Vendetta - Wachowski brothers

Hi All,

Thanks very much for your comments. The new video I've attempted has been very difficult. For those in the know it will make a bit of sense (I hope) but the time line is screwy. In some instances V's talking about something entirely different, but I used some of it to highlight other factual points. Kind of reluctant to give it a grade of smash or trash myself. Here's the link:

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-267334028941968688&hl=en

I extended the end after the inspector says "can you prove any of this" with various video footage. This cut off the final 10-20 seconds of the end words to this story/scene, but added an additional 20-40 seconds to the length of the video.

Does any of you have read the comic book ?

It really worth it (and I probably prefere it... probably because I discovered it before)

Here is a quite complete comparison between the movie and the comic:

I really like the addition footage after "Can you prove any of this?" The time line is bit off, you're right, but the direction is great, though. However, I am not sure if you would want to use "I know your not stupid" in the end. It's a bit subjective. fwiw.

My two cent.

I've just watched it. really nice work!

shame about the audio quality, but if that's all that is available then it's ok, I guess. Maybe have scrolling-subtitles? (yes, I know that's not a trivial task!)

The "I know your not stupid" line should be "I know you're not stupid". You don't want to end the whole thing on a grammatical error.

Thanks Zadius, Vinny,

I think I'll remove it completely. It seems funny, that mistake. It makes me think of something like this: I'm not too smart, but can at least see through the BS going on on the BBM and since your (should be you're=you are) NOT stupid then it should be pretty easy for you to realize what's really going on. Of course that is fantasy and wishfulness but it sounds (to my selves) pretty cool.

Don't mean it to sound like wishfulness about my stupidness, but that some of the hardcore folks still supporting the corrupt would just not write their comments. For example: A video called hollow (I believe it was) which is about loosing a friend with mixes of British, Iraqi, American.. soldiers and citizens (dead/injured) was commented like this. "Get out of my country!" Hope that comparison makes sense. It used to piss me off but now it just makes me sad or indifferant. We have our blinders and buffers. Some don't seem to ask themselves; Why am I offended? But instead of helping themselves feel the shock and really feel things through they just block and logic/intelligence/reality.. doesn't sink in.

_http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xbkuw2ZdwNU Hollow - Now deleted. It was claimed as being 'inappropriate' on youtube.

I'll get that text removed at the end and edit in a link here. Thanks for the feedback! Edit:BTW Vinny I will try to reduce some of the noise in some area's and in one particular one where it seems to buzz my speakers.

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=8434819171582423116&hl=en V-Story Changed the end and (hopefully) reduced some of the audio buzz that was in there. Guessing here Vinny but was it the part where he is talking about the St.Mary's virus? It seemed to have allot of base muffling. I don't hear so well so I had turned up the audio output within the clip itself quite a bit.

The V-story was great noise!! I'm gonna put it on my blog, sometimes you hear a bit of a (low)buzz but nevertheless it is really great!

just a note, the buzz I hear is at 3:18-3:22 , everything is else is pretty much perfect.

noise, don't be down about things that didn't turn out perfect. what is the phrase? something like "if you don't make mistakes, you don't make anything". I think that things like this video are a 'labour of love' for the universe, and I bet you learned a whole lot doing it. It is a GREAT piece of work.

and there will always be (many) people out there who will hate and resist it. but that's not the point. you did it, and got it out there, and there WILL also be people for whom it will be a revelation - these are the people it is meant for, and as for the rest, you have to just leave them to 'do what they will'.

I'd like to add about the "don't be down" thought provided by sleepyvinny.

The term "stupid" has many meanings, and it depends on how you use it. Gurdjeiff used it to address his points about sincerely. But, nowadays, I noticed that term is used as a part of "self-pity" program. When I saw "I know your not stupid" in the video, you seem to be projecting your 'self-pity' program onto others. When I saw that, I felt my own "self-pity" program was kicking in but I didn't give in. I already went through it with my 'friend' Rachel. My suggestion is to refrain from using it at all when addressing your intention for anything. By not using it at all or resist using it, your 'self-pity' program won't try to 'put you down.' It's about observing your choice of words. osit.

I like your updated one, and it's straight to the point. By seeing it, people will face the reality. People will put you down for posting or creating these videos, but it's the message that counts and that message will reach for those who will see it, not the hateful or anger opinions of others.

FWIW

Exactly. I think it's like the conversation between Hedsel and the old man that Laura quotes from Zelator in the Wave:

MH: I set out to learn how to be a Fool.
OM: No, you set out the follow the Way of the Fool. There is a difference. And what is the result of such a journey? The result is a wise Fool. A fool is the one who gives up everything for an idea. The wise Fool is the one who knows that he never had anything to give up in the first place. Is that Foolish? ...Now, what is the difference between an old Fool and a young Fool?
MH: Is it commitment? The old man has committed himself, while the young one has not?
OM: Yes, exactly so. The old man has committed himself. He has made a stand. Life has made him do that. He has drawn a circle around himself, and said, "This is where I stand, this is what I must do." He has committed himself to an action.

Because he has drawn a circle around himself, others can see where he stands. He can be attacked by others. His position is weak. Those who have not committed themselves can mock, if they are so inclined.

The one who has committed himself appears to be in a weak position. Yet the Spiritual truth is quite otherwise. It is the one who accepts commitment who is strong.

The true commitment is the artistic one. This is why artists are so often attacked. They are attacked for their morals, for their ideas - even for their work. Yet their essence - their commitment - is the secret which is unassailable.

The true artist knows that creativity is its own reward.

Ordinary people fear commitment, you see. Ordinary people fear creativity.
They know that if they allow that seething cauldron of yellow liquid to boil over within themselves, then their whole lives will be changed.

People fear change. People do not wish to be creative and artistic in any real sense. They wish to decorate, perhaps, and to make things around themselves pleasant - but this has little to do with creativity. All spiritual paths should be creative. Creativity is involved with sacrifice. That stew of yellow liquid which boils in everyone is a sacrificial broth...
MH: The sulphur?
OM: Yes, the sulphur. The first of the Three Principles. It is in a sacrificial cauldron. It is an excess. Creativity is Spiritual delight, and overpouring of sulphur. Some time ago you asked me about the word sulphur. We both agreed that Fulcanelli was right, and alchemical sulphur is the equivalent of the sexual energies in man and woman. The sexual energies may come out in a selfish way or in a creative way. Jakob Boehme saw the division in the word sulphur in a slightly different way. He divided the word itself, and said Sul was the soul of a thing, the oil. The Sul is born of the phur, the light. ...Have you ever looked at spilt oil? Under certain conditions it can look like a thin filament of a rainbow. This is the light imprisoned in the oil. The light rises upwards. It liberates the rainbow. It is as simple as that.
MH: Then all creative activity must be "foolish?" In which case, thinking must be "foolish?"
OM: Perhaps thinking is "foolish." Certain forms of thinking undoubtedly are "foolish." After all, most people are vulnerable in their ideas: they fear to think for themselves. The Fool learns to think for himself: he or she makes it an exercise of the soul. Others refuse that Way. This is why our civilization is so under threat. We are living in a world where every effort is being made to ensure that the body is comfortable, yet little is done for the growing soul.
MH:Creativity is itself, a form of selflessness?
OM: Exactly so. Creativity is the giving away of Spiritual energy. Creativity is the soul in the expenditure of a bottomless purse. One gives sulphur away - initially perhaps, through an excess of joy - that is the foolishness of the young. Later, one gives away energy through commitment to an idea. Creativity is the ultimate deed of unselfishness. When a man knows that creativity is its own reward... Well, then he is ready to work with people. You think of yourself as a loner. You do not see how much you are needed. You are needed to point the way.
MH: But I know nothing!
OM: You do not believe that when you sit before a group you do so alone? You are there as a representative of the spiritual world. Fools like myself become teachers, because we find suddenly that there is no one else. It's as simple as that. You realize how great is the gulf between you and others. There is a curtain between you. And you understand that this curtain is good for neither of you. The house out there is burning. You can see the flames, but those others cannot see the flames. ... Now the question is, can you leave those people in the flames? Would it not be the act of a Fool to snatch one, or perhaps two, out of the conflagration?
MH: If that is what they want.
OM: They cannot see the flames, but they do not wish to be burned. You see. You know that there are two sorts of flame. There is the soft and slow flame of the inner heat, and that terrible burning flame which consumes, and which feels no human pain. ...You cannot continue widening the gap between yourself and the world, What for others is light is for the Teacher an old light - another word for darkness. We live in a foolish paradox, for while we have forever, we do not have much time. [Hedsel, 2000]

Hi all,

I've uploaded it to youtube now. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uS_i8n3b_TI

I'm going to give allot of consideration to these most recent posts. nf3 I liked that post from the wave. Reading it 'again' for the 'first time' gave it a whole different meaning than the first time a couple years ago.

On Stupid.. well I use that phrase allot, on myself 99.9% of the time. I wonder if it is that I seek self pity to get more attention in the hopes to get smarter, go farther.. with some help of course, yet while being lazy or pretending I cannot help myself. I'm not the brightest star in the sky, but then stars don't compete to give out light.. I'll put some focus on this, it comes up often. There's no real concern to be the brightest star in the sky either.

On the stupidity of others. Sometimes I think I can beat it out of them. Draw them a picture, make a gesture.., but generally find a way to help them out of their denial, ignorance, prejudice, hate.. I know it is an illusion and the only thing I can change is me. Then I give a person the benefit of the doubt (which really means, they're smarter than me) so if I learned this 'something' over a long period of time, they (being so much smarter) should be able to see through the hood that's been pulled over their eyes much easier, cause they are so much more intelligent.

Really need to go on an inner expedition and try to dig out the cause of this. Thanks for the feedback.
