What are you listening to?

I loved this version of the Gladiator soundtrack:

Yes, I love that version too. Hear it on spotify when I play a playlist called "Epic Soundtracks".

A relatively new song from a fave artist of mine, Ludovico Einaudi called "Four Dimensions". It puts tears in my eyes like the Cloud Atlas song, something in the patterns reminds me of life repeating... But with some tiny hope that builds up. Maybe I'm reading too much into the music but I can't but help feel it!

(BTW, Einaudi has a great violin song that kicks your heart's butt, jaja, called Underwood. I linked to it before, so I won't link again and spam this thread.)

Thanks DBZ, that was beautiful! I listened to Underwood as well and yes, it is very beautiful too. Both compositions can touch deeply but in very subtle way I would say. Music is just amazing! :)

Today marks 4 years of Jon Lord's death, keyboardist of Deep Purple, and listening this song from the second album of the band, I wondered if there are another song composed by them most beautiful than this ... beautiful mix between hardrock and classical music that Ritchie Blackmore made, and although not Ian Gillan on vocals, I think Rod Evans made this with masterfully, with the Baroque touch of Jon Lord on the keyboard. It's a beautiful nostalgic memory for someone who is no longer, but is back in the memory.

Repost.

"Heaven And Hell"

Sing me a song, you're a singer
Do me a wrong, you're a bringer of evil
The Devil is never a maker
The less that you give, you're a taker
So it's on and on and on, it's Heaven and Hell, oh well

The lover of life's not a sinner
The ending is just a beginner
The closer you get to the meaning
The sooner you'll know that you're dreaming
So it's on and on and on, oh it's on and on and on
It goes on and on and on, Heaven and Hell
I can tell, fool, fool!

Well if it seems to be real, it's illusion
For every moment of truth, there's confusion in life
Love can be seen as the answer, but nobody bleeds for the dancer
And it's on and on, on and on and on....

They say that life's a carousel
Spinning fast, you've got to ride it well
The world is full of Kings and Queens
Who blind your eyes and steal your dreams
It's Heaven and Hell, oh well
And they'll tell you black is really white
The moon is just the sun at night
And when you walk in golden halls
You get to keep the gold that falls
It's Heaven and Hell, oh no!
Fool, fool!
You've got to bleed for the dancer!
Fool, fool!
Look for the answer!
Fool, fool, fool!

I heard this song a while ago, loved the instruments and the chorus. Recently I did a study group meetup on Seneca's - On the Shortness of Life and decided to look this video up again. It's done in the style of Wes Anderson, who I am not a big fan of but it makes a point about time ironically as his movies are full of people wasting time doing mundane tasks, LOL I highlighted the good part about time.

"Oscar Wilde"

Episodes and parallels,
Don't you want the invitation?
Big bright accent, catty smile,
Oscar Wilde confrontation

Ah, Live like it's the style
Oh, we waltz on your front porch

We are all our own devil
We are all our own devil
And we make this world our hell

We are all our own devil
We are all our own devil
And we make this world
We make this world our hell

Porcelain teacups decorate,
Tables and the conversation,
Beauty pageants, all the time,
Is running out, the time is running out

Ah, Live like it's the style
Oh, we waltz on your front porch

We are all our own devil
We are all our own devil
And we make this world our hell

We are all our own devil
We are all our own devil
And we make this world
We make this world our hell

Time keeps on ticking away
It's Always running away
We're always running in time
We're always running from time [x8]

We are all our own devil
We are all our own devil
And we make this world our hell

We are all our own devil
We are all our own devil
And we make this world
We make this world our hell
Oh, we make it our hell
We make it our hell
Ah, ah, make it our hell
