What are you listening to?

You know when you sort of half listen to some music and the words you hear are not quite what is actually sung..

I was listening to an episode of the Australian TV show "Rockwiz" tonight and heard the words:

..There's this comet's gonna get you!..

I can't put the actual song (as performed) up because it's too recent but here's the original, from 1970, the rooftop gig:

John Lennon ~ Instant Karma! (We All Shine On)

It's in Spanish but you can see the translation below the video:

I am a resident of this world, for a while
and today coincides that you too are here,
so strange coincidences of life
so many centuries, so many worlds, so much space... and coincide.

If I navigate the space with my mind
or if I want to return to my ancestors,
overwhelmed, I stop and can not imagine
so many centuries, so many worlds, so much space... and coincide.

If I entertain in the stars at night
and I capture the one that starts to bloom
I hold in my hands, and alarms me even more
so many centuries, so many worlds, so much space... and coincide.

If life is sustained by instants
and an instant is the moment to exist
if your life is another instant... I do not understand
so many centuries, so many worlds, so much space ... and coincide.

That one is very beautiful, Luis!

Following a similar style, this one is one of my favourites by Silvio Rodríguez:
(Lyrics translation below)

AL FINAL DEL VIAJE
At the End of the Journey

LYRICS
(it's a very bad translation because translating such poetry is quite a difficult task... but I suppose it conveys the meaning)

At the end of this journey in life,
our swollen bodies that went
to death, hatred, to the border of the sea,
will remain

At the end of this journey in life
our trail inviting to live, will remain.
At least that's why I'm here.

We are prehistory that the future will have,
we are the remote annals of man.
These years are the past of heaven;
these years are a certain agility
with which the sun draws you into the future,
they are the truth or the end, they are God.

Those who can smile in the midst of death, in full light,
will remain.

At the end of this journey in life
ther will be
a cure of time and love,
a gauze covering an old pain.

At the end of this journey in life
our bodies lying in the sun, will remain,
like white sheets after love.

At the end of the journey is the horizon,
at the end of the journey we will depart again,
at the end of the journey a road begins,
Another good road
to follow barefoot counting the sand.

Those who can smile in the midst of death, in full light,
will remain.

  Both amazing songs and amazing composers!!

Found this one today, liked some verses and the tune:

You belong among the wildflowers
You belong in a boat out at sea
Sail away, kill off the hours
You belong somewhere you feel free

Run away, find you a lover
Go away somewhere all bright and new
I have seen no other
Who compares with you

You belong among the wildflowers
You belong in a boat out at sea
You belong with your love on your arm
You belong somewhere you feel free

Run away, go find a lover
Run away, let your heart be your guide
You deserve the deepest of cover
You belong in that home by and by

You belong among the wildflowers
You belong somewhere close to me
Far away from your trouble and worry
You belong somewhere you feel free
You belong somewhere you feel free

Doing all right
A little jiving on a Saturday night
And come what may
Gonna dance the day away

Jenny was sweet
She always smiled for the people she meet
On trouble and strife
She had another way of looking at life

The news is blue (The news is blue)
Had it's own way to get to you
What can I do? (What can I do? )
I'll never remember my time with you

Pick up your feet
Got to move to the trick of the beat
There is no elite
Just take your place in the driver's seat
Driver's seat, driver's seat, yeah
Doing all right
A little jiving on a Saturday night
And come what may
Gonna dance the day away
Driver's seat, driver's seat, yeah
Jenny was sweet
There is no elite
Pick up your feet, pick up, pick up
Pick up your feet, gonna dance the day away
Driver's seat, driver's seat, yeah
Driver's seat, driver's seat, yeah

beautiful love song ... ... reminded me of a green roads with trees and kind of a specific French sunlight ... :cool2:

In your eyes I would take my vacation.
Soleil, soleil, soleil
As we wait at the edge of the platform.
Soleil, soleil, soleil

Expresso super-fly, we can do nothing if we try...
Where are you as I walk through the station?
Soleil, soleil, soleil

Still so calm with your karma wrapped round tightly
Expresso super-fly, we can do nothing if we try...
Soleil, soleil, soleil (repeat)

In my eyes I will take my vacation.
Soleil, soleil, soleil
As we wait at the edge of the platform.
Soleil, soleil, soleil
Expresso super-fly, we can do nothing if we try
Expresso super-fly, we can do nothing if we try.

Soleil, soleil, soleil (repeat, then fade)
