Whatever it takes to break
Gotta do it
From the burning lake or the eastern gate
You'll get through it

Rattle that lock, lose those chains
Rattle that lock, lose those chains
Rattle that lock, lose those chains
Rattle that lock
Let's go do it
Have it all our way
Go back to where we blew it
And lose our heads along the way

So long sin, au revoir chaos
If there's a heaven, it can wait
So long sin, au revoir chaos
If there's a heaven

Rattle that lock
Rattle that lock, lose those chains
Rattle that lock
Rattle that lock, lose those chains
And all the other travellers
Become phantoms to our eyes
Furies and the revellers
Fallen angels in disguise

No discord, chance or rumour
Is going to interrupt this place
No discord, chance or rumour
To interrupt this
So let's get to it
It's calling like a flame
Through the darkness and the night
The world suspended on a golden chain

No discord, chance or rumour
Is going to interrupt this place
No discord, chance or rumour
To interrupt this

Rattle that lock
Rattle that lock, lose those chains
Rattle that lock
Rattle that lock
Rattle that lock, lose those chains

I was taking a time to listen some music and I thought to share this song wrote by an argentinian poetess called Eladia Blazquez. In this case intepreted by Mercedes Sosa. It has a beatiful lyrics, so I put below translated to english...

Honoring Life
No! Remaining and going by
it isn't enduring; neither existing
Nor honoring life!
There are many ways of not being
so much conscience unknowingly
dormant...
Deserving life isn't shutting up and allowing
so much unfairness
It's virtue, it's dignity!
And it's the most defined identity attitude!
That enduring and going by
gives us no right to brag
'Cause it isn't the same living than
Honoring life!

No! Remaining and going by
not always wants to arise
Honoring life!
There's so many little vanities,
on our stupid humanity
blinded
Deserving life isn't standing tall
far-off the evil, of failures
It's like telling the truth
and our own freedom
You are welcomed!
That enduring and going by
gives us no right to brag
'Cause it isn't the same living than
Honoring life!

---

In spanish:

Honrar La Vida

¡No! Permanecer y transcurrir
No es perdurar, no es existir
¡Ni honrar la vida!
Hay tantas maneras de no ser,
Tanta conciencia sin saber
Adormecida

¡No! Permanecer y transcurrir
No siempre quiere sugerir
¡Honrar la vida!
Hay tanta pequeña vanidad,
En nuestra tonta humanidad
Enceguecida

Merecer la vida es erguirse vertical,
Más allá del mal, de las caídas...
Es igual que darle a la verdad,
Y a nuestra propia libertad
¡La bienvenida!

Eso de durar y transcurrir
No nos da derecho a presumir.
Porque no es lo mismo que vivir
¡Honrar la vida!

Marina9, that girl is so good and has a smooth bluesy touch, thanks. And all other previous posted too makes this thread so cool... :cool2:

Hello H2O I wish I could play drums like that (wishful thinking- it takes much work I'm sure).

It's chilly tonight and I thought about snow flakes, real snow flakes when I heard this song (not SJW snow flakes, real winter snow flakes)...

My Favourite Things Lyrics

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens,
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens,
Brown paper packages tied up with strings,
These are a few of my favorite things.

Cream colored ponies and crisp apple strudels,
Door bells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles.
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings.
These are a few of my favorite things.

Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes,
Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes,
Silver white winters that melt into springs,
These are a few of my favorite things.

When the dog bites, when the bee stings,
When I'm feeling sad,
I simply remember my favorite things,
And then I don't feel so bad.

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens,
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens,
Brown paper packages tied up with strings,
These are a few of my favorite things.

Cream colored ponies and crisp apple strudels,
Door bells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles.
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings.
These are a few of my favorite things.

Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes,
Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes,
Silver white winters that melt into springs,
These are a few of my favorite things.

When the dog bites, when the bee stings,
When I'm feeling sad,
I simply remember my favorite things,
And then I don't feel so bad.

Thanks msante for the beautiful voice of Mercedes Sosa and that inspiring message in the lyrics. We forget the struggles so many are facing.

Thanks goyacobol, another beautiful song, I like so much his author, Leon Gieco. I let here one version in the voice of Mercedes Sosa with lyrics in english:

msante,

I just love that song. I think I am going to try to learn it in Spanish and English. I play a harmonica a little too so that is interesting for me. I was surprised to find the Bruce Springsteen version and I see that Pete Seeger has performed it as well. I like the tempo and guitar accompaniment on this version you just shared. :hug2:
