What are you listening to?

Thanks everyone for another great page of eclectic music choices. I thought I had posted this but it must have ended up in a different timeline or something.

I found this looking for another song. I think the artist may be from the Czech Republic based on comments. It is kind of like looking at a more innocent time of youthful romantic attraction that seems lost somehow...I cant't understand the words so hopefully they are actually as innocent as the video seems.

This is very lightweight I suppose.

As you can probably tell by the accent, she's a young Aussie artist, doing big things down under at the moment, the whole loop pedal thing his huge here at the moment! very talented and passionate young artist too :)

I was looking through some of my old work recently and had forgotten about this track which I wrote and directed the video for. It's interesting to go back and listen to old work. It brings back memories of another time and I had forgotten that we used a giant enneagram on the salt lakes where we shot it, pretty sure I was reading heaps of Gurdjieff at the time, 10 years sort of feels like a lifetime ago.

987baz,

Gee whiz, that is super creative with the writing, video and production. Your voice is clear and emotionally expressive. I was a little shocked when you got hit with the shovel. Hope you are OK, just kidding.

You've been working on a lot of different interests over the last 10 years. It is interesting that you were reading Gurdjieff back then and drew the eneagram at the salt flat. The group looks like they were enjoying themselves too.

Thanks for sharing. :)

I listen to the radio a lot while driving, so know better than most how much of a pile of trash modern pop music is. Essentially pop music now is mostly just white dudes crying about lost girlfriends, black dudes bragging about their money/sexual prowess, and women singing about partying and 'don't need no man'.

So I was surprised to hear this the other day while drivng: Pink - What About Us?

The lyrics sound like a simple expression of how the population probably feels lately. A sad and naive cry from people in western nations who are ignored, abused, and generally treated like cattle by their leaders.

We are searchlights, we can see in the dark
We are rockets, pointed up at the stars
We are billions of beautiful hearts
And you sold us down the river too far

What about us?
What about all the times you said you had the answers?
What about us?
What about all the broken happy ever afters?
What about us?
What about all the plans that ended in disaster?
What about love? What about trust?
What about us?

We are problems that want to be solved
We are children that need to be loved
We were willing, we came when you called
But man you fooled us, enough is enough

What about us?
What about all the times you said you had the answers?
What about us?
What about all the broken happy ever afters?
What about us?
What about all the plans that ended in disaster?
What about love? What about trust?
What about us?

What about us?
What about all the plans that ended in disaster?
What about love? What about trust?
What about us?

Sticks and stones they may break these bones
But then I'll be ready, are you ready?
It's the start of us, waking up, come on
Are you ready? I'll be ready
I don't want control, I want to let go
Are you ready? I'll be ready
Cause now it's time to let them know
We are ready

What about...
What about us?
What about all the times you said you had the answers?
So what about us?
What about all the broken happy ever afters?
What about us?
What about all the plans that ended in disaster?
What about love? What about trust?
What about us?

What about us?
What about us?
What about us?

The Tragically Hip - "Bobcaygeon"

I left your house this morning
About a quarter after nine
Could have been the Willie Nelson
Could have been the wine
When I left your house this morning
It was a little after nine
It was in Bobcaygeon, I saw the constellations
Reveal themselves one star at a time

Drove back to town this morning
With working on my mind
I thought of maybe quitting
I thought of leaving it behind
I went back to bed this morning
And as I'm pulling down the blind
Yeah, the sky was dull, and hypothetical
And falling one cloud at a time

That night in Toronto
With its checkerboard floors
Riding on horseback
And keeping order restored
Till the men they couldn't hang
Stepped to the mic and sang
And their voices rang
With that Aryan twang

I got to your house this morning
Just a little after nine
In the middle of that riot
Couldn't get you off my mind
So I'm at your house this morning
Just a little after nine
'Cause it was in Bobcaygeon, where I saw the constellations
Reveal themselves one star at a time

Breakthrough
David Gilmore - Breakthrough said:
I can take or leave it, won't be the woebegone
Don't need a model universe to hang your pictures on.
You hide somewhere, you die somewhere
And then this senseless thought,
By hating more you're feeling more
And that's how you get caught.
They're never going to make it easy
Of this you can be sure.
I greet you from your wilderness,
I'll stay inside your door.
There is no cage or prison, they have no fence too tall,
You die more times than anyone, there's still no place to fall.
They're never going to keep it simple
This comes down from above.
I have no helm, no secret realm,
I dream to be at the heart of love, a part of love.
I bet you can conceal it, but that's just a dead-end track,
I'll cover you like the driven snow and then I'll bring you back.
You'll see! you feel like, you feel like a banner,
Unfurled and gently blown,
And there before your opening eyes
The self you've never known.
They're never going to make it easy
Of this you can be sure.
You feel alive your heart untied
And loved for evermore
You feel alive your heart untied
And loved for evermore

some time days are just tooo long ... and it is to sad to see the predatorily punishment for all who simply just want to live from their work not from their support of predatorily system ... it is to sad to see all the kids growing up to be trapped ... :boat:

It's alright
There comes a time
Got no patience to search
For peace of mind
Layin' low
Want to take it slow
No more hiding or
Disguising truths I've sold

Everyday it's something
Hits me all so cold
Find me sittin' by myself
No excuses, then I know

It's okay
Had a bad day
Hands are bruised from
Breaking rocks all day
Drained and blue
I bleed for you
You think it's funny, well
You're drowning in it too

Everyday it's something
Hits me all so cold
Find me sittin' by myself
No excuses, then I know

Yeah, it's fine
We'll walk down the line
Leave our rain, a cold
Trade for warm sunshine
You my friend
I will defend
And if we change, well I
Love you anyway

Everyday it's something
Hits me all so cold
Find me sittin' by myself
No excuses, then I know

with all the hope for a new world of love and creation through service to others ... that is unfolding in front of us ... that we might not maybe survive in this body .. but it is not important if our existence now is going to amplify that "future" ... :cool2:

We're working in the moonlight
Breathing in the cool night air
Trying to hold on to the summertime
Plain to see and straight to hear

We're diving into wilderness
We're digging in the dirt
Looking for a couple of bucks
Having a game for what it's worth

Through the fire and the chains
We're gonna get a life out of this
The shining light upon our ways
is making a live out of this

Through the fire and the chains
We're gonna get a life out of this
The shining light upon our ways
is making a live out of this

We make the road by walking
Find a place that is right
Which keeps us from falling
Out of reach and out of sight

And we're going fishing for diamonds
Be about to leave this town
Going for broke another round
And the big wheel ain't turning us down

Through the fire and the chains
We're gonna get a life out of this
The shining light upon our ways
is making a live out of this

Through the fire and the chains
We're gonna get a life out of this
The shining light upon our ways
is making a live out of this

I just was listening this song and I'd like share here. The lyrics are a bit repetitive but by moments it seems to have some inspiration...

Just stop your crying
It's a sign of the times
Welcome to the final show
Hope you're wearing your best clothes
You can't bribe the door on your way to the sky
You look pretty good down here
But you ain't really good
If we never learn, we been here before
Why are we always stuck and running from
The bullets?
The bullets
We never learn, we been here before
Why are we always stuck and running from
The bullets?
The bullets
Just stop your crying
It's a sign of the times
We gotta get away from here
We gotta get away from here
Just stop your crying
It'll be alright
They told me that the end is near
We gotta get away from here
Just stop your crying
Have the time of your life
Breaking through the atmosphere
And things are pretty good from here
Remember everything will be alright
We can meet again somewhere
Somewhere far away from here
We never learn, we been here before
Why are we always stuck and running from
The bullets?
The bullets
We never learn, we been here before
Why are we always stuck and running from
The bullets?
The bullets
Just stop your crying
It's a sign of the times
We gotta get away from here
We gotta get away from here
Stop your crying
Baby, it will be alright
They told me that the end is near
We gotta get away from here
We never learn, we been here before
Why are we always stuck and running from
The bullets?
The bullets
We never learn, we been here before
Why are we always stuck and running from
The bullets?
The bullets
We don't talk enough
We should open up
Before it's all too much
Will we ever learn?
We've been here before
It's just what we know
Stop your crying, baby
It's a sign of the times
We gotta get away
We got to get away
We got to get away
We got to get away
We got to get away
We got to, we got to (away)
We got to, we got to (away)
We got to, we got to (away)

My favourite song by Morrisey/Smiths.

I am a poor freezingly cold soul
So far from where
I intended to go
Scavenging through life's very constant lulls
So far from where I'm determined to go

Wish I knew the way to reach the one I love
There is no way ...
Wish I had the charm to attract the one I love
But you see, I've got no charm
Mmm...

Tonight I've consumed much more than I can hold
Oh, this is very clear to you
And you can tell I have never really loved
You can tell, by the way, I sleep all day

And all of my life no-one gave me anything
No-one has ever given me anything
My love is as sharp as a needle in your eye
You must be such a fool
To pass me by
