What are you listening to?

Marin9,

Now I have a new one to add to my favorites too. It's really cool how the music is in their family genes and it helped keep them together. Thanks for posting those 2. I'll save space for someone else to post something.

the Hyperdimensional Politics thread has me feeling: Our Time Is Running Out

Yet another Matt Bellamy song that has me wondering just how much they really know

"It's an older code (2010) but it checks out"

A touch risque at times but the imagery serves as a reminder of the original sales job for this density.

I have a few Muse albums and I had never seen that video. The song is actually from 2003.

Thanks Zac and Marina9, some really cool tracks there :cool2:

Some friends of mine just released their first EP, it's a little different, pop vocals with some rap, but pretty cool...Kat has a great voice :)

Unfortunately I can't embed soundcloud tracks here, must be a code conflict, so link is below.

Precious and fragile things
Need special handling
My God what have we done to you
We always tried to share
The tenderest of care
Now look what we have put you through

Things get damaged
Things get broken
I thought we'd manage
But words left unspoken
Left us so brittle
There was so little left to give

Angels with silver wings
Shouldn't know suffering
I wish I could take the pain for you
If God has a master plan
That only He understands
I hope it's your eyes He's seeing through

Things get damaged
Things get broken
I thought we'd manage
But words left unspoken
Left us so brittle
There was so little left to give

I pray you learn to trust
Have faith in both of us
And keep room in your hearts for two

Things get damaged
Things get broken
I thought we'd manage
But words left unspoken
Left us so brittle
There was so little left to give

After finishing the books of Collingwood (The Idea of History and Speculum Mentis) I listened once again to this piece from Arvo Pärt, composed in 1978 and entitled "Spiegel im Spiegel" -- which translates as "Mirror in Mirror".
The last chapter of Speculum Mentis is called "Speculum Speculi" which is Latin for "Mirror in Mirror", so the reminiscence is quite obvious.

"Spiegel im Spiegel" by Arvo Pärt, as performed by Tasmin Little (violin) and Martin Roscoe (piano) on the album "EMI Classics, Pärt: Fratres" (8:16 min).

Those who want to read the music while listening can do so here (same artists playing) (8:32 min):

There's a lengthy explanation of the composition available with this one.

Revolution in their minds
The children start to march
Against the world in which they have to live
and all the hate that's in their hearts
They're tired of being pushed around
and told just what to do!
They'll fight the world until they've won
and love comes flowing through

Children of tomorrow
Live in the tears that fall today
Will the sun rise up tomorrow
Bringing peace in any way?
Must the world live in the shadow of atomic fear?
Can they win the fight for peace or will they disappear?

So you children of the world,
listen to what I say
If you want a better place to live in
spread the words today
Show the world that love is still alive
you must be brave
Or you children of today are
Children of the Grave, Yeah!
