What are you listening to?

I was looking for some songs by a conductor called Jean Etienne Langianni, who apparently specialises in Corsican chant, and on my trip through Youtube, i found the following songs which i think are rather beautifully sung:

Beth Chivalier

ChanteursPyreneens
Published on May 29, 2010

Translated to English: Les Chanteurs Pyrénééns de Tarbes offers you a traditional song in the Occitan language (Gascon dialect).

English: Offectory of the Mass for the Dead Unknown manuscript / late 18th century

And finally, i like this for it's energy, it feels rather quaint but profound:
Libertat (Cançon de nèrvi)

Translated: This unpretentious slide show will illustrate in a very personal but symbolic way this beautiful song, which should be the hymn of Occitania! Occitan (southern french) song by J Clozel, music by M. Théron (folk singer from Marseille). Here is a quite personal yet very symbolic slide show illustrating this wonderful occitan song, that should be the Langue d'oc Anthem !

Lyrics translated using DeepL - the comments also have the lyrics posted in French and Occitan:

You who are ardent and naked
You who have your fists on your hips
You who have a bugle voice
Today rings with your lungs full ringing
Ô good muse
You are the muse of the poor beggars
Your face is black with smoke
Your eyes smell the shooting
You are a barricade flower
You are the Venus.
Of the murders of hunger you are the mistress of those who do not have a shirt
The beggars who go without shoes
The breadless, the bedless
Have your caresses
But the others make you burp the fat people and their families
The enemies of the poor people
For your name, you, O holy daughter, is Freedom.
O Freedom how beautiful you are
Your eyes shine like lightning and you cross, free from all evil,
Your arms strong like axes on your breasts.
But then you say hoarse words,
You softer than the stars
And you trouble us, O my beautiful
When we kiss, closing
Your bare feet eyelids.
You who are powerful and rude
You who shine in the rays
You who have a bugle voice
Today calls, calls with full lungs
The time has come.

Come Out Fighting by Easterhouse

Oh well there never was anything in my life
That I got just for asking
And I never heard of anything
That was won without a fight
Now I'm in another corner
Only the times have changed
A new page is turning over
But the book is just the same

I want to come out fighting
I want to step out fighting
I'm in a head spin waiting for that bell to ring
I want to step out fighting

Some are trying to turn a clock back
They are working ceaslessly
In the dark of their black hearts
Bearing down on me, bearing down on me
C'mon
Now we've turned another corner
So we meet them face to face
And I know that I'll be ready
To take my place when they march into the street

I want to come out fighting
I want to step out fighting
When they march into the street, where they're voting with their feet
I'm going to come out fighting

Trapped in a corner and you can't go back
Trapped in a corner and you can't go back
Trapped in a corner and you can't go back
Trapped in a corner and you can't go back
It's frightening
I'm gonna come out fighting
I'm gonna come out fighting
I'm gonna step out fighting
When they march into the street, where they're voting with their feet
I'm gonna come out fighting
I'm gonna come out fighting
I'm gonna step out fighting
I'm in a head spin waiting for that bell to ring
I'm gonna come out fighting
I'm gonna come out fighting
I'm gonna step out fighting

Hatsune Miku - Glass Wall

Metrist,

This was a very interesting video. It is a surreal hologram and reality blurs into a virtual reality. Is this good or bad? I am not sure. I think it does seem sad that the audience goes wild just like an audience does for actual human based concerts. That is the part I am not sure about. But holograms are maybe something to consider in relation to what we think is reality.

Session 24 June 2000:
Q: (L) According to the Andromedans, "there are over 135 billion human beings in the 8 galaxies closest to ours. Now, there are also other races out there. Some of these races have had a lot of conflict with the human race and that conflict continues, but there are things happening that will hopefully alleviate that problem...."

A: Your current physical form has been fine tuned on your present locator through advanced biogenetic engineering. It is an ongoing process.

Q: (L) It says here: "many members of extraterrestrial races live from an average of one thousand to 1500 years." Now, you have already told us that such ages are the case at 4th density. But, here it says: "The Andromedans live to an average of 2007 years. They do not look at time the same way that we do. They say that our universe, which consists of everything that we do and don't know about is a 21 trillion year old hologram. They say that all the matter that is in our universe came out of black holes. Under every galaxy, they say, is a black hole from whence everything comes." Now, does everything in our galaxy come out of a black hole? Is the center...

A: Whoa! Wait a minute! The term "year" is a 3rd density concept of the terran variety.

Q: (L) So, in other words, the whole thing is ridiculous?

A: No, the whole thing is not ridiculous. Some may be, but not all.

And there is this idea:
Session 23 September 2000:
Q: Here is a comment from one of our listmembers:

"Our reality depends on what we believe to be true. What we believe depends on our perception. Our perception depends on what we look for. What we look for depends on our thoughts. What we think depends on our state of wisdom. Our wisdom depends on our state of awareness. Our awareness depends on our intuition. Our intuition depends on maturity of soul. The maturity of soul depends on the image we represent of the one infinite mind. All images are holograms of this mind. We are duplicates of the original." Is this an accurate way of representing our reality?

A: Close. It is one chain of relations, though not all. The dependent relationships are far more complicated.

And then there is this...

Okay, so I don't know how this might be received. When I was a kid, I had a neighbor friend who lived behind me who played drums. I became interested in playing the drums towards the end of elementary school. I entered the band program in the 6th grade when I entered junior high school. By the time I was in the 8th grade I was in both orchestra and band. My first year in high school I beat out the seniors through UIL competition to reach 2nd chair symphonic regional band on tympani. They were not so happy for me.

Then I went to Texas Tech and entered the marching band there where I challenged a sophomore for an active position on the drum line playing the triple drums which I duly won from him. He was not so happy.

The next year I went to North Texas State and entered the music program for a year. I don't really play anymore, but the point of telling you all that was to emphasize that what I really enjoy listening to has a lot to do with the drumming. And let's face it, there's not allot of killer drumming going on in the more subtle forms of music. Although, I can honestly say that I'm beginning to really appreciate more sublime forms of music as well.

The following falls under the category of progressive metal. I wouldn't necessarily call it that myself. If it were up to me, I would call it artistic rock. This English band formed in 2007 and now has five albums. This from their latest album:

This is Haken
Puzzle Box

Latent memories forming deep inside of me
Dormant barren visceral senses now subdued
No escape. I navigate through my cave
Beneath the skin. They keep us in night and day

Parasite - Leech upon the guilt from all my wrongs
(Lead me on a pathway to the core)
Paralysed - Staring through the shadows on the wall
(Unable to solve this puzzle box)

The journey's long, the shadows dance around
The answer lies beyond the fourth wall
My future days are etched into my skull
Hanging ever by a tethered body, mind and soul

Parasite - Leech upon the guilt from all my wrongs
(Lead me on a pathway to the core)
Paralysed - Staring through the shadows on the wall
(Unable to solve this puzzle box)

Truth or deception? I lose all perception inside

A fleeting sense of self worth evaporates into nothingness
A tepid grip on myself melts away to oblivion

Shadows on the wall dance around
Reflections in the amber to be found
A puppet on a string soon unwound
The truth inside the cave soon to be unbound
The path beyond the mountain led me here
The answer crystallised in history
But now the cracks of time begin to show
We lift the veil on what the future holds
The torture of entrapment ever grows
And now I'm waiting for the afterglow
A beast inside of me awakening
Alas the consequences of my sins
Shadows on the wall dance around
Reflections in the amber to be found
A puppet on a string soon unwound
The truth inside the cave soon to be unbound

Parasites as thick as thieves
Paralysed my golden wings

Bouncing off the walls
Latent memories erupting
Pulling at the cord
Earth beneath my feet is trembling
Lightning cracks the sky
'Wakening the beast inside me
Rawness in his eyes
Reeking stench of fear and regret

Cause and consequence
Show me reverence
Fate or circumstance?
I feel severance
Lightning cracks the sky
Eyes intensify
I will stay trapped inside

How can truth set us free when lies are all we have?
How can time heal us when our days are running out?
