What are you listening to?

Love Roy Orbison to bits. One of the truly wonderful and melodic voices along with Elvis and Jim Reeves. This cover by David Nilsson is amazing though. Heart wrenching really. Especially if the lyrics strike a note with you like they do with me...lost love and all that...

After reading the latest session (December 18th 2021) , I came across this song;

"Ready for the Storm" - Kathy Mattea (with Dougie MacLean)

Oh, the waves crash in and the tide pulls out
It's an angry sea but there is no doubt
That the lighthouse will keep shining out
To warn the lonely sailor

The lightning strikes and the wind cuts cold
Through the sailor's bones, to the sailor's soul
Till there's nothing left that he can hold
Except the rolling ocean

But I am ready for the storm
Yes sir, ready
I am ready for the storm
I'm ready for the storm

Oh, give me mercy for my dreams
'Cause every confrontation seems
To tell me what it really means
To be this lonely sailor

And when you take me by your side
You love me warm, you love me
And I should have realized
I had no reasons to be frightened

But I am ready for the storm
Yes sir, ready
I am ready for the storm
I'm ready for the storm

The distance it is no real friend
And time will take its time
And you will find that in the end
It brings you me, the lonely sailor

And when the sky begins to clear
The sun it melts away my fear
I'll cry a silent weary tear
For those that need to love me

But I am ready for the storm
Yes sir, ready
I am ready for the storm
Yes sir, ready
I am ready for the storm
Yes sir, ready
I am ready for the storm
I'm ready for the storm

Super wow!! If I play like that, my fingers might catch on fire!!:wow::-D Out of jest, I was very struck by the connection that exists between the musicians. They look each other in the eyes all the time, they communicate with the language of music. Wonderful!

PS: I don't know how to play any instrument, I have no knowledge of music, I'm just in the 1st guitar lesson. I am learning in a self-taught way. The only thing I know about music is... ENJOY IT! Long live music!

@Stella Marys, I think Paco De Lucia is my favorite Flamenco guitarist. He is like one of the few Jazz Flamenco guitarists and his fingers just fly as you say and you wonder they do not catch on fire. I was impressed with his counterpart using a pick too. I still think the fingers add something that a pick cannot when it comes to flamenco style music but that is just my impression. Thanks for finding that one. :-)

Here we have music and dance. This video has more than 20 million views. About 10 million views, that was me. :-D:whistle:

Well, jokes aside. I am amazed by the ability of the dancers. Their movements are like a language that reflect in concrete the meaning of the sounds. They are not "out of tune" with their bodies. Really, very enjoyable.

And about the music, what can I say? Zorba the Greek is simply... marvelous!
