What are you listening to?

Audio-novel: The Years of Rice and Salt. It is an interesting story of 2 souls interacting through different relationships over many lifetimes. Alternative history story in which Black Death wipes out almost everyone in Europe, those lands being later settled by various Muslim sects.

Better version, or so I feel:

Haunting, had never heard it done that way...💜

Lyrically, it also brought to mind another favourite from JC (RIP);

I went out walking
Through streets paved with gold
Lifted some stones
Saw the skin and bones
Of a city without a soul
I went out walking
Under an atomic sky
Where the ground won't turn
And the rain it burns...

What a voice :halo:

been singing this tune in the car a lot lately.. i reckon you all can figure out what is on my mind!

in light of the july 4th session in regards to singing, i figured i would post this one here as it's very easy to sing along to!

I'll marry my lover in a place to admire, I don't
Have to even ask her, I can look in her eyes and thank God
That I am forgiven, or thank all of my friends
To say I've been true, or they've forgotten
And weary my mind is to say the least, it's been
Awful hard to just stand on my feet, I think
I'll slow down if I am able, I won't drown
In the ocean or starve in my place at the table
Lucky ones are we all 'til it is over
Everyone near and far
When you smile the sun, it peeks through the clouds
Never die, for always be around and around and around
And how is your sister and what of your brother?
Extend hello's to your father and mother
What in the world would cause you any sorrow?
Lighten your load and see how I keeled the wheelbarrow I borrowed
Lucky ones are we all 'til it is over
Everyone near and far
When you smile the sun, it peeks through the clouds
Never die, for always be around and around and around

Nahko d Medicine for the People, Aloha Ke Akua

Lend your ears
Lend your hands
Lend your movement, anything you can
Come to teach
Come to be taught
Come in the likeness and the image of God
Cause you can be like that
All that humbleness and all that respect

CYMATICS: Science Vs. Music...

That was cool

In light of the recent session, Ra's 'tone poem' also springs to mind;

54.8 Questioner: OK. Once a mind/body/spirit complex becomes aware of this process... it is necessary to reunite its thinking or reharmonize its thinking with the Original Creative Thought in precise vibration or frequency of vibration...

Ra: ...The precision with which each energy center matches the Original Thought lies not in the systematic placement of each energy nexus but rather in the fluid and plastic placement of the balanced blending of these energy centers in such a way that intelligent energy is able to channel itself with minimal distortion.

The mind/body/spirit complex is not a machine. It is rather what you might call a tone poem.

Heilung | LIFA - Krigsgaldr LIVE

What am I supposed to do
If I want to talk about peace and understanding
But you only understand the language of the sword
What if I want to make you understand that the path you chose leads to downfall
But you only understand the language of the sword
What if I want to tell you to leave me and my beloved ones in peace
But you only understand the language of the sword
I let the blade do the talking...
So my tongue shall become iron
And my words the mighty roar of war
Revealing my divine anger's arrow shall strike
All action for the good of all
I see my reflection in your eyes
But my new age has just begun
The sword is soft
In the fire of the furnace
It hungers to be hit
And wants to have a hundred sisters
In the coldest state of their existence
They may dance the maddest
In the morass of the red rain
Beloved brother enemy
I sing my sword song for you
The lullaby of obliteration
So I can wake up with a smile
And bliss in my heart
And bliss in my heart
And bliss in my heart
Coexistence, Conflict, combat
Devastation, regeneration, transformation
That is the best I can do for you
I see a grey gloom on the horizon
That promises a powerful sun to rise
To melt away all moons
It will make the old fires of purification
Look like dying embers
Look like dying embers
Look like dying embers
I ran across this group by accident looking for something else a while back. Great costumes, but they have got to be hot! Interesting sound though- modern age Viking?

I don't think so, but I could be wrong. I think it is a form of Nordic Shamanism, and this song's "War Chant" lyrics, after reading them over a few times back when I posted it originally, brought to mind the thought of "righteous anger" when faced with an enemy that wants to kill you, your family, and your people no matter what you say or do to ask them to stop. Although this "righteous anger" is I think inherently displayed in a more "pronounced" manner? Imagine an invading army going up against these guys! I think most would run back to their ships with their tails between their legs. Seems to me these types of people were much more acknowledging of their shadow selves within, as perhaps how Jordan Peterson talks about growing your monster within, learning to control it so it doesn't possess you, in order that you can become more virtuous and assertive rather than like a helpless passive prey/bunny. But yeah, I could easily imagine people with more "vivid power cells and centers" occasionally losing control of their shadow selves within and then becoming possessed by "it" into full out battles of "fire with fire". Here is another version that has mainly Lifa vocals, and perhaps a bit less "pronounced" events :-D
