They don't really do it justice, the storm was intense! Non-stop lightning flashes and 'walls', not 'sheets' of rain!

:scared: Whoa, that was one intense storm!

No kidding! Somewhere it was said what speed the wind was in kph (I can't remember, now) and I put in a conversion machine to get mph. I did it twice because I couldn't believe what it said - 95 mph! It came up the same both times. That is a LOT of wind. :scared: No wonder you all had so many trees and branches all over the place. It is so good that no one got hurt there.

It IS extremely cold here, colder than during the dead of winter in Minnesota by far...
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Seattle+Freeze

Is it the location itself, plate tectonics or a vortex or some type of compelling EM anomaly?? :/

I can handle the cold, but this 'cold' is where the real icy burn is...
Brrrrrrr, the winds outside are nuffin' compared to this.

Saw two (2) fire rainbows in the clouds above Puget Sound yesterday...

In Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and there is a thick haze blanketing the city, dropping visibility really low, and you can smell smoke in the air. It is apparently caused by "hotspots" of forest fires in interior Malaysia, and neighboring Indonesia....certainly has a very apocalyptic feel to it....

Alarming haze records in Singapore, Malaysia

On the French riviera in France we had a frightening storm at about 6 h, of flashes of lightning of all sides and sound of deafening thunder...
So much so that we had the current cut during more than one hour...
The earth was so dry as she found it difficult to drink all this water... We even had hailstones what is very rare in Provence Alps French riviera...

well, here in Southern California, in San Fernando Valley it's been very hot and humid for the last couple of weeks and it looks like, it will be the same this week, up to 100 and it feels even hotter, no rain though. :cool2:

Peek of the I_don't_count_them _any_more hot wave. Zagreb (Croatia) measured today 33 C (91F) in the mid of September! That I can't remember of in my 43 years living here! To the east is even hotter up to 38 (100F) so I guess some new all time highs for Sep. could be set. It's even worse with constant southern wind which doesn't help at all, just making things worse. Forecast for tomorrow is about the same. It looks like there's going to be some refreshment from next weekend.

Unusually hot , over 30C during the day for this part of the year. Some colder wave is forecast from Sunday evening with a up to 10C colder weather and a lot of rain, and it will last for a few days.

Winter has really hung on here in my part of Australia this year. Low overnight temps and persistent frost have left the grass struggling to grow for the first month of spring. However, temps are forecast to rise to around 30C by the weeks end.

Not much rain of late. We are still in a winter pattern, so hopefully storm season will start soon to bring some rain with the increasing heat.

Here in Yorkshire we've had thick fog, early morning and a chill in the air. The sun been coming through around midday and it's been pleasant for this time of year around 18-20 degrees.
