What's the weather where you are?

I shouldn't have said we will get a drought. From time to time we had some rain since my last post. This is good for the plants. It is warm and sunny enough for the people and a quite normal summer weather for this part of the world IMO.

Yesterday I heard booms again, one short and weak then second later stronger and louder. My father and I went out to see anything but there was nothing. Neighbour asked if it was thunder but the weather was sunny. There were no plane sounds. I ve also heard other neighbours talking outside and being suprised by it.

Melbourne, Florida
87 F
Humidity:ridiculous, as always.
Big thunderstorms for two weeks straight.
Watching the lightning, waiting for thunder.
A little wind, bringing a nice chill with the rain.
The smell of disturbed soil.
Its usually brutally hot during the day before the storms come.

I went to the beach yesterday, and of course as soon as i laid down the sun disappeared behind a cloud. I just decided to wait for the rain, and it came slowly. I would have stayed but I had my 12 yr old cousin with me so, I figured it wasn't safe, I could risk my own skin, but not hers. Before we left I just wanted to dip in the ocean. I started walking over to the shore and a lifeguard stopped me and told me I couldn't go in. Me being persistent asked if that was a law...He said, "I can kick you out of the water, yes, but not the beach, its dangerous! But if you like you can go rinse off at the showers." So I replied," You mean those tall metal rods that water comes out of?" Gave him a laugh....
Anyway, I just waited until he was gone and did what I wanted to do in the first place. :halo:

Figured I'd share. ...Try to stay cool and dry everyone...unless you don't wanna. ;)

Here in the puget sound region of Washington state it has been pretty mild and warm. A few days ago it was really hot here, in fact July 1st we broke the record for hottest July 1st ever. It was 94 degrees. Typically it doesn't get that hot here.

I had lived in that region for 31 years (moved away in 2008). It seems that it rained there much more than it is now (I keep a lookout at the weather there from time to time). While living there, a friend at work one day said that it always rains throughout winter and spring and there isn't any decent weather until around July 21st - with the exception of one week in June just to tease us. And this was basically true. It has been in the last few years that this started to change. Much less rain throughout the year.

I was wondering if this is something you have noticed, too.

The sheets of rain have arrived in Norway, ridiculous amounts of rain in short bursts today. Reminds me of tropical rain, which we usually don't get up here.

When I saw this I was really thinking about our blindness...

In Plainfield, one house was severely damaged and about 20 houses sustained minor damage due to the tornado, which also downed trees, police spokeswoman Jill Lees said. No injuries were reported, she said.

Three houses in Wayne Township west of Indianapolis and several houses within the city were also damaged, the Indianapolis Star newspaper reported.

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -- A tornado-producing storm that hit central Indiana on Tuesday damaged several homes in Indianapolis and its outskirts, downed power lines and uprooted trees, authorities said.

It was one of several thunderstorms that sprang up in southwestern Indiana near Terre Haute and moved northeast toward Indianapolis, becoming more severe along the way. No injuries were reported. National Weather Service meteorologist Mike Ryan said the tornado struck in the afternoon in Hendricks County just southwest of Indianapolis and caused extensive damage to at least three homes.

The twister, an EF1 on the 0-to-5 enhanced Fujita scale with an estimated wind speed of 100 mph, tossed a camper onto the roof of a home and destroyed the camper and about half of the roof, according to a storm survey team's report. Strong winds from the storm also damaged more than 200 cars at an auto auction site, the weather service said.

Unseasonably cool in South of France; 12 C in the morning day before yesterday. Rains, drizzle, almost constant cloud cover though the sun peeps through now and then for a few minutes. Other areas around us have had it worse with hail and such. We seem to be in a "bubble" of some sort where all the worst stuff goes around us though it is cooler and cloudier than normal for this time of year.
