Well, i did not know where to post it exactly.

Québec has been founded in 1608 by Samuel de Champlain. Therefore we are celebrating the 400e anniversary of the foundation of the city.

Mother Nature has decided to make her special contribution to the celebration.

Today, we are going to reach our 400 cm of snow just for this winter. We should finish the day around 420 cm.

Another snowstrom is forecasted for saturday. We might be able to exceed the overall record of snow for a winter in the modern time (455 cm).

What else can i say if not (in english it is someting like I can not stand it anymore)

And with all that snow, here's my reaction:

I hear ya. We got seriously dumped on last night, here in Ontario I just spent the last hour shovelling masses of dense, heavy snow, just to get my car out of the driveway. Now I'm sitting here in front of the computer, sipping coffee, resting up before I attack the back stoop so that we can actually open the door to let the dogs outside. And apparently there's more on the way tonight....

Oh well, at least the sun's shining.... :D

whaddaya mean!?? 400cm as in 4000mm:s or 4 goddam METERS of snow!!!!!!!!! Here in Finland we usually have snow(allways in Lapland of course) every winter, but lately... This year for example we have had( Im talking HKI and 500km up, not the hole of F) a lot of rain these first months in 2008! and temperatures above 0 degrees Celsius and now coming into march we have some cold weather(about -7 degrees C)... and some snow. I mean I could use some snow. We bloody hell need it over here in wintertime!

Here in Zagreb - Croatia we hardly saw few flocks last two years! On march 2. we have 22c (71,6F) and last February broke some record highs allover country. Some early spring flowers are already wilted tough mid march is more usual for them to bloom. I miss snow, tough last two days we have some winter weather with snow in mountainous areas of country. I have experienced some high snows and blizzards in my life but I can't imagine how does it look to receive 400 cm of snow in single season and how to deal with it. I mean where do you put shoveled snow, do you drive it off on trucks or just throw it over to neighbour? ;)

Namaste, unfortunately I can't help you with endless Canadian winters, but maybe this can help a bit.

BTW
We ware hit by 3.3 strong earthquake last night, so between snow and earthquakes... :/

The snowstorm is finished and we have received since the beginning of this winter 418 cm of snow. The absolute record is 457 cm. They are forecasting another snowstorm of 30 to 35 cm for saturday.

I think we are going to beat the record this year because we still have six weeks to go before even thinking that the snow is finished for this winter.

By the way clerk de bonk, if you know a way to do it, that will be my pleasure to fax you my snowdrift, or to send it to you by e-mail. And it is a gift for you since you asked for some snow. ;)

yeah that would be nice; Instant Weather on demand...:)

...its thawing now, every centimeter of snow that came today will soon be gone:rolleyes:

Lets just hope for your sake that it doesnt amount to serious trouble(if it hasn't already). Those amounts of snow thawing will be quite heavy on buildings for one.

Update:

We have finished the winter 2008 with a little bit more than 550 cm of snow.

Everyone was hoping to have a lovely summer with a lot of sun.

Here's a caricature of André Philippe Coté published in the Soleil (newspaper) showing the winter and summer 2008.

(The man is saying: If the summer can come!!!)

Today I woke up with much energy! Cause I knew it snowed, somehow the snow gives me a real nice feeling. It's so fresh :D

Same here, snow is awesome :D But... the snow is already gone! Really a shame. But there is a high probability that it will snow this weekend and next week :D

Bjorn, pretty much snow now huh?

There is even a weather alarm on the weather website knmi.nl
I don't think this happens in Holland that often in provinces like Zuid Holland!

We have been warned by Al Gore :P

That Global Warming sure is awful, yes?

Yeah...approx. 20 inch of snow last night and a week ago 18-27 F degree. I freeze my asset of!

Sure we should send a picture of the snowstorm from last night to Al Gore!

Hey Oxajil

Yeah it's pretty terror. Can't even have a descent look outside to watch through this blizzard. Being outside must be like climbing the Mount-Everest.

You know I really want go outside when the storm is still fresh. Hopefully there will be some who wanna join me.

Will send a SOS if something goes wrong. :P

- It's indeed very rare to have this kind of weather in Zuid Holland!

We have been warned by Al Gore :P

Yeah the Al Gore effect. The Media really is having it's circus for the past few weeks. It's a pity for them that the weather isn't working at there side.
I can't believe what they where thinking when proclaiming this lie. I mean the Earth is showing the contrary. And this will be shown to everybody living on this planet.
How can they ever convince 'truth' again to anybody.

Anyhow nothing against a short new ice-age. I guess. But some mountains really would be awesome.
