Roadside Picnic is set in the aftermath of an extraterrestrial event called the Visitation that took place in several locations around the Earth, simultaneously, over a two-day period. Neither the Visitors themselves nor their means of arrival or departure were ever seen by the local populations who lived inside the relatively small areas, each a few square kilometers, of the six Visitation Zones. The zones exhibit strange and dangerous phenomena not understood by humans, and contain artifacts with inexplicable properties. The title of the novel derives from an analogy proposed by the character Dr. Valentine Pilman, who compares the Visitation to a picnic:

A picnic. Picture a forest, a country road, a meadow. And of course, the usual mess—apple cores, candy wrappers, charred remains of the campfire, cans, bottles, somebody’s handkerchief, somebody’s penknife, torn newspapers, coins, faded flowers picked in another meadow.

In this analogy, the nervous animals are the humans who venture forth after the Visitors have left, discovering items and anomalies that are ordinary to those who have discarded them, but incomprehensible or deadly to the earthlings.

This explanation implies that the Visitors may not have paid any attention to, or even noticed, the human inhabitants of the planet during their visit, just as humans do not notice or pay attention to grasshoppers or ladybugs during a picnic. The artifacts and phenomena left behind by the Visitors in the Zones were garbage, discarded and forgotten, without any intentions to advance or damage humanity. There is little chance that the Visitors will return again because for them it was a brief stop, for reasons unknown, on the way to their actual destination.

Just a quick THANK YOU for the session so quickly on the heels of the last one! The wait between October and December felt like an eternity. This “double dose” is a salve for the spirit. A: Don't lose hope for your groups. They will do well if they will follow the STO way set out for them.

Then, you have this obviously transparent "false flag" terrorism attack on an airplane which then results in crackdowns that make everybody miserable. A: We once said that 4D STS will become desperate for control as the changes approach. They perceive that control is being undermined thus making them more desperate.

A: Yes but that is actually good because it means that their desperation is being driven and they will make more mistakes and turn the masses against them sooner.

Q: (L) So the more positive things we do, and the more creative we become, the more it drives them to try to suppress and repress things in indirect ways to try to suppress and repress us without suppressing and repressing us directly - because that would be too obvious - and by so doing, they show their hand so to speak?

A: Yes

Q: (Joe) That's what happens with guerrilla warfare, ya know?

(L) It's the damnedest thing I've ever seen.

(Ark) What what?

(L) The whole thing, the way the energy moves back and forth. We get going, and then everything out there gets going, and then we make a move, and then get pushed back when they make a move... But it's all a psychic, mental thing.

(Joe) It's about being aware of all the reality of the situation because I can't think of any other way that it can happen because our reach is really limited. If we are having some effect, I can only assume it's a mental and psychic thing. And the more that each individual perceives the situation more clearly, and the real truth about it the situation, then that has a greater effect. There are a lot of people out there in the conspiracy...

Anyway, if they truly double down on the pandemic plot, I think I will laugh a little. Yes, there will be real suffering and consequence and all that, but there's no way that works out in their favor right? Thankfully, we've all be working on building our immunity to iocaine powder!

Thanks everyone for the new session. It was a long one with many bits of sundry info, who knows where some bits might end up in the big mosaic.

It would be interesting to learn more about how the Miami Mall operation failed, and what was planned. It sounds like it could have been a large-scale disaster - various governmental departments were reportedly involved somehow.

There is much to think about and consider with all the different strands in the session. 2024 is shaping up to be quite a wild ride in our theme park. Let's buckle up for the ride and prepare as best as we can!

I had similar thoughts. Maybe he is a man with a consciousness after all? Because in my logic I don't see any benefit of focusing attention on chabad-lubavitch for them or those involved. It only created more links for people, especially after finding the tunnels. Seeing how they are treated with honors in polish parliament and how politicians fear them (or more those hiding in their shadow...) I'd say NY is not the only place where trafficking is ongoing.

Or maybe it was all done on purpose? Braun's incident and the fact that the finding of tunnels was well documented and went public? But what the purpose might be?

Metal rooms... I was immediately reminded of ancient metal rooms from Horizon Zero Dawn game. They were remnants of a previous fallen civilization destroyed by human-made combat robots. Of course people thought that it's linked to some religious rituals while in fact their purpose was simply practical.

In the current forum design, reading transcripts of sessions is not very convenient. More precisely, it is inconvenient to look for something from sessions that took place years ago (after all, you cannot save everything in your memory). Especially if you have problems with English (like me).
We need a catalog of transcripts of sessions in Russian by year/month in a simple text format (txt, html) and with clear navigation, like the dreamland website was. This would greatly help with the research that each of us is (hopefully) doing and sharing with others.
This is a wish, of course. Such work would take time (it doesn’t exist!🙂).
